VN - Ren'Py - Superhuman [v0.999] [WeirdWorld]

This is one of the few avns that captivated me the first time i got into it, and it's by complete coincidence too. The first time coming i had low expectations as to what the game would be like, my first impression was that it was gonna be another poorly drawn sex game with weird aliens but what i got was something out of this world (no pun intended) that caught me by surprise.

First off the writing is some of the best out there, everything is written with a clear and concise way that doesn't feel overbloated even with the large amount of dialogues in the game. The protagonist is written excellently too and is a very likeable guy (depends on your choices i guess) that's surprisingly competent at what he's doing, he comes off as an actual person rather than a H game protagonist and that's a welcoming change. The characters are also written very well with some looking like a generic trope character that turns out to be a more complex character, overall all the characters are written excellently with each having their own characterizations that makes them unique to each other and i don't have complains whatsoever.
Perhaps the best thing about the game is how cleverly written the power of the mc is. The power of shapeshifting has lots of potential and WeirdWorld knows this as much, it's not a cheap trick that the mc uses once in a while, it's a genuinely powerful power that can help him as easily as it kills and i love that so much. Power fantasy or no it's a very well written one.

As for gameplay fundamentally it's the same renpy fare of clicking and reading while occasionally seeing cgs here and there but the nonlinearity of the story and the amount of variations in the scenes helps make it feel less of a boring chore and more of a complex game that can challenge you if you want to optimize your playthrough. It's an engaging way to spice a copy and pasted formula and i rather like it, i just wish they didn't impose a time limit but afaik it'll be remove in the full release.

Overall i find this game to be a really enjoyable one with an interesting story that explores the concept of shapeshifting more than any media have taken it so far. The artstyle is a bit of a hit or miss but don't let it dissuade you, trust me it'll stick to you once you've played it, it's far more charming than you'd first think and creates a unique tone to the game's settings that complements the story. If it's still a turn off to you then i can't blame you, it's not for everyone but if you DO try it then you're in for a visual feast. I highly recommend it

Renders are awful and animations are non existent but the lore, the options, the story are top fucking class. This proves wihtout a shadow of a doubt that avns doesnt need 4k animations but good story and options.
my only gripe is that power hungry asshole mc should be more explicit. maybe i havent played that part yet.

Was walking into this for the power fantasy, but actually stayed because the story was interesting and fun.

The sex scenes while lacking actual animated frames, are alright. Its more akin to a power point presentation flipping back and forth, but it does the job.

tl;dr: came for the smut, stayed for the story.

This game probably took a lot of my first times. First time reading 90% of the text without skipping, first time emotionally invested, first time properly naming my MC, first time trying to write a proper review... Well maybe not really the first, but you get it.

Fun fact: My MC's last name is King, which makes my dad Stephen King. I didn't even know, there was just a mysterious voice telling me to properly name my MC for this game. Good call.

Story - 5/5
Not your average superpower story, where you get powers and then suddenly you're getting all the girls just because. Hell, most people didn't even know MC had powers until around one-third into the story. This game actually focuses on storytelling, instead of making shit up because it is convenient. Instead of "let's have an alien give you powers and the alien doesn't have to be talked about anymore", this game has things well thought out, where events and characters can link together, the past can link into the present, foreshadowing, etc. The emotion compartment is excellent too, there aren't many games that can stoke or traumatize me like this. This is a PROPER story you guys.

Overall, story is coherent, consistent, and well-planned. There might be slip-ups occasionally, not that I've noticed. But even if so, I cannot nitpick, only real life can be 100% consistent after all. Oh and hey, all that suspense between scenes is delicious too.

Characters - 5/5
Like the story itself, the characters are consistent, and the developments are there. Character connections don't feel forced, they don't talk to you just because you have the MC energy. They approach you when they have a reason to, they hate you when they should. And of course, each character has a solid and unique personality, and it stays consistent. The lovable remains lovable, the mysterious remains mysterious, the hothead remains a hothead. (WW you better do the hothead and her twin right or I'm coming for you. jk, or am I) Surprises are not lacking either, like the cheerleaders who I totally thought would be stereotypical bitches, are not. They turned out lovable in their unique ways, one of them gets so much cuter when she tries to be a good GF, not something you'd expect right off the bat.
Character developments are certainly there. As the MC goes forward, so do others. Either through opening up more and filling you in with backstories, or trying to change or improve themselves. Their intention and motivation for going forward are well-presented. It makes you convinced of what they are doing and why they do what they do. It also allows you to guess their next moves just a little based on their character.

Art & Design - 4/5
The original direction, I wouldn't say I don't like it, but it's simply not my thing. But it could well be style matching theme, so I won't complain much. The new style is much more to my taste. Not much more to say about it, it's all personal preference, though some of the lipstick colors could be weird in the beginning. The redesign basically captured the characters' essence, like you can clearly see that's the redesign of this character.
The reason why I don't give this a 5 is because of the inconsistency unlike the story and the characters. The old and new styles are still very much intertwined. Would be nice to slowly clean up going forward, though I know working retroactively is quite a pain so probably low prior.

Sex scenes 3.5/5
Scenes are good. Reason it's only 3.5 is because I don't feel like I have enough. Not the number of scenes, to this point the number is pretty substantial. It is the content inside each scene, while this is totally just my own opinion, the art is great, but sometimes say the angle, or the dialogue would have me say "Just a little more!", can't put my finger on it, but sometimes the scenes leave me blue balled. Personally would prefer a bit more of MC's body or the girls' legs (the fuller picture?) in certain scenes like cowgirl.

Other scenes 4/5
Like action/casual scenes, not much to talk about. Casual ones are relaxing like you're really chatting with friends. Action ones are epic, I know what's going on and the character's mental process, the art adequately reflects what's being said. Only think to nitpick is that sometimes it could get wordy and I can't focus on all of the text, not that it impedes my overall understanding.

Ugh, sorry for writing too much, but if a game can keep me invested 6 days straight, this review is well-deserved. Quite some time ago I played this once, only to drop it after ten minutes. I'm both sad and glad I picked it up again, for I did not know what a gem this was, and for waiting long enough that it is even better now.

Easily the best Superpowered game you will find anywhere not just in the 18+category.The game has proper world building, important and likeable main and recurring characters,great story,good dialogues,choices that actually matter,art which gets better with time and will be updated as it will reach version 1.0,above average lewds and most importantly a great mc.This is easily one of my favourite piece of media.Give it a try and overlook the starting game art for sometime although some eventually even like it or if you don't want to do that wait for version 1.0 but trust me give it a try you will have a great time.

Really good story, fun characters, good MC, incredible world building, the scenes are fine but nothing special, only real complaint is the time mechanics at the beginning of the game, which makes you choose between min maxing or better characterization for side characters.

Best ero game I ever played, good story, incredible lore, the music and ambience are phenomenal. Played for 3 days straight, only thinking about playing this game. The art and story gets better and better, showing the author's abilities development, and must I say, this guy is incredibly talented, in writing, worldbuilding and in artstyle, that's unique and immersive. The game is edgy and I like it. The fight scenes are pure action and you can immerse yourself completely, the powers and abilities are well thought and fucking cool. The game show the love the author have with its creation, we can see that he is doing something that he loves. The characters have personality, making them feel alive, this game was one of the few that made me love or hate some characters. Anxious for the updates and the final game!

If I'm nitpicking it'd be a 4.5 star, but since it's not possible let's settle with 5 star.

To sum it up, if you enjoy a story where mc not being the only "god among men", but also having allies/antagonist/enemies who are actually competent and not one dimensional, then this is a game for you. The mc while still being a unique being compare to the rest, he still have to struggle to get where he's currently is in latest update, it feels earned.

The biggest reason to not play this game is probably because of the artstyle. The early art is admittedly rough, it might also not help because almost everyone is in goth style and most of the heroines have comically large bosom.

If you can get over it though, you will get to enjoy a great story.

My last save was from the house party, I don't care about the porn anymore I'm just way too invested in the story as of now (it's good though). Some people might not like linear paths but it's waaaay too stretched not to be. 1.0v will be peak I just know it.

This is a great game which, while still using the engine in a very basic way, manages to merge several interesting concepts and perfectly mix horror, humor and eroticism.
I also think this must be the best superhero adult VN by a wide margin.

There is a lot of content in this game. It got me hooked for multiple full days in a row and i am really happy with the updates the game gets. The development is insane as well as how well the developer balances all the aspects. I hope the developer just keeps on doing what he is doing because it is great

Remarkably well written, I am unbelievably invested in the story. I would even happily play and enjoy without H-Scenes.
My only complaint is that the rest of the game isn't out already. It is making me seriously consider deleting all other work-in-progress games I have installed, because I will be stuck for weeks with anticipation gnawing at me waiting to see what happens next. If another game can manage to double the effect I might die.

You can take away all the porn in this game and it would still be a quality read. One of the most well thought of and well conceived fictional universes out there. All the positives that can be said about this game can be seen in the reviews below me so all I can say is to just give it a try and FUCKING ENJOY!!!

Its a near 5/5 game, excellent story, interesting action, relatable characters with well designed backgrounds and motivations for their actions. Even if youre not a fan of big tit goth girls its still something to read just for the story alone, only a couple of issues stand out from it being easily the best 2d vn on F95, 1 losing the game is very possible and sometimes quite easy to accidentally do, usually the autosave is pretty robust to avoid having to start over but the early game has a specific part that could mean having to redo the beginning of the game, not a deal breaker but kind of annoying, the other issue is the early artwork, calling it rough is putting it mildly, some pretty serious issues with characters facing front that has some pretty off puting perspectives, also early creature work lacks a lot of details especially in comparison to later characters, maybe the worst part of the artwork is some characters are still using their early artwork as their primary portrait this wouldnt be a problem if they also werent situated next to updated and better looking characters so you can see the disconnection between them, hopefully its something that can be resolved by the time competition of the game .

Despite all Ive said these are frankly minor issues in comparison to the positives of the game, definitely something to play, and absolutely an artist that gives you your moneys worth

Today, my friends, I feel an urgent need to recommend this game.

Yes, it features peculiar fetishes, and indeed, the art style is somewhat unusual. However, firstly, all these peculiar fetishes can be avoided, and they don't even constitute 10% of the sexual content. Additionally, the art improves significantly in the second half of the game. But that's not why I recommend it; the story is the true gem here.

It's simply the best narrative I've encountered in a porn game. At this point, I eagerly await updates just to discover what happens next. Even if you removed all the sexual content, it would still stand as an excellent visual novel. I've never encountered such an intriguing and gripping story, not even in Japanese visual novels. As you delve deeper into the game universe, it only leaves you with more questions craving answers. And if that alone wasn't enough, every single character, without exception, has a distinct personality. Even the extras, who haven't been featured for 5 updates, are memorable. The love interests have their own arcs and evolutions; it's not merely a sandbox where you engage in intimate encounters minutes after meeting them. Moreover, the fight scenes are simply breathtaking; they make you feel as if you're reading a manga due to their excitement. They immerse you in the narrative to the extent that you find yourself contemplating the consequences of your actions, or lack thereof. The game can penalize you with a dead end for neglecting your training, yet the development of the main character's powers remains compelling, so you don't feel burdened by the grind. The antagonists are wonderfully crafted; you genuinely despise them and eagerly anticipate any opportunity to defeat them (though sometimes it's wiser to spare them). And best of all (or worst, depending on your perspective), each update leaves you yearning for more due to the brilliant cliffhangers that leave you on the edge of your seat.

If I have to critique the game, aside from its unusual fetishes and art style (which I personally appreciate), it would be that although decisions are significant, they don't alter the story much. The only real change occurs in whether you establish a relationship with one of the girls and whether the public perceives you as a hero. Other "bad" decisions lead to dead ends.

Nevertheless, if we're to assess the game technically, the ratings would be as follows:

There are stories where you skip text for porn. And there is Superhuman, where you skip porn for the awesome story. I sure hope this dude will write a scenario for a film or something. Cant get enough.

This is one of the best VN I ever played.

The early art needs to be redone at some point though. The art kinda prevented me from getting into it for quite some time. But oh boy I am glad I stayed.

The characters actually feel like people. I came for the porn, but stayed for the plot and character development.


Without spoiling anything, this VN is compromised of a main route (with "chapters") and subroutes for several characters/LIs. So far, none of the subroutes exclude you from doing the others.

The art is a little rough in places, but you'll probably notice newer characters have better art than the old ones. WeirdWorld's artistic skills have improved greatly since they first started working on Superhuman, and that's reflected in some of the later art. I don't know if WW has plans to redo some of the older paperdolls/CGs, but even the worst of them is serviceable.

This is peak fiction. Excellent writing, especially action writing. Art could be better at the beginning but gets significantly better. Overall a great VN with amazing action scenes and some really cool world building.

More like 3.5/5 but can't do half stars on here.
