RPGM - Completed - Sword Princess Sistina [v1.01] [Doujin Circle Gyu!]

Subpar Even Among RPGM Games

Played about 7 hours to get the true ending and this game fell short of all of my expectations. The clothing system is bare bones and buggy, the enemies scaling to your level is implemented poorly and generally a bad idea in a game like this, and half of the loot chests come up "empty" or "broken". Some of the loot chests that drop from enemies also move into walls making them unreachable. On top of that the loot from chests is RNG, so you will likely find yourself save scumming to get the good gear since leveling up means nothing. Even the flowers that increase your lewdness give you a random amount, so you gotta save scum those too. A giant waste of time.

The story falls into standard save the world from the demon king style..but there's just way too much text in this game. I didn't find any of it particularly worth reading. NTR seems to be the main point of the game, and the NTR portions of the game seem well done.

The art in the game feels like a bait and switch, the standing art shown in the previews here is the best art in the game. The actual H scene art looks like it was drawn with MS Paint. It doesn't help that Sistina has oddly elongated nipples in most of the scenes as well.

Overall I would pass on this one unless it really hits all your kinks or something.

I don't know why people had a bad experience with this because I liked the game. It has quite a bit of detail, different dialogues implemented, open ended and there were a few bugs, but nothing game breaking. The start is linear, but after that you can literally do anything. You can level up lewd by finding the flowers and using aphrodisiac after that, or you can do side quests which also have lewd content, or you can slut around, or just finish the story.
Battle system is fun, even though battle sex was a better in the dev's other games, it is still pretty good here. The status is detailed.
The only issue I have is that it is in RPGMaker VX Ace instead of RPGMV or MZ.

Really great game with decent focus on RPG elements.
The game has amazing story, plot, character development, variety and CGs/renders to enjoy. As the game has so much to offer, normally it falls into some pitfalls, such as the clothing system - seems some CGs are done against default one, hence your choice has little impact. Combat system is over the top, but at least it has Auto function. Really enjoyed the hits/tips and the whole helpful menu being setup as that contributes a lot to the game and how to track all of the different progresses (lewd status, events, quests etc.). Overall enjoyed the game, but some polishing is required.

So I played through this way too late. It's a decent game and by decent I mean that if you do a purity run, the game can still kinda stand on its own. It gets a bit grindy at times but you can avoid most of the fight once get to level 60+ and you manage to find a pair of the strongest weapon for the MC. I didn't see any of the lewds yet so I cannot judge but gameplay and story wise, it's got some effort put behind it. The characters are okay, a bit bland.

A game with good premise and interesting story which is restricted by lackluster content and really bad coding and graphics.

Pros:
1. Very interesting story.
2. The player character is very pretty. The battle scenes are pretty good, and come with the option of skipping it.
3. Lots of skills. Not that you need them.
4. Party play, if that's your thing.
5. Virgin run
6. Quick and easy to earn money and minimal grinding.

CONS:
1. Clothing/ wardrobe system is a hot mess.
---> You can remove undergarments, but that does not effect the game play whatsoever, she will still be wearing undergarments.
---> There are two paths, knight or mage, and clothing increases, att or magic according to the clothing you wear, but in every boss battle, the clothing automatically changes to default swordsman outfit.
---> Standing picture does not correlate with the reality, always clothed character.
---> I can keep on going but if you are here for clothing system, just don't
2. Scaling, it means nothing because.. well... the mobs scale with you making it really annoying since you can just stay low level and the monsters will be at that level too.
3. In the virgin run, I ended up with 150 lewd points, 200 being the max, and I got a grand total of two H scenes in the battles. So, if you are planning to do a virgin run, do not expect any H scenes.
4. 40% of the drops are broken or empty, chest drops jump and move to weird places and you have to chase the chests. A lot of times chests end up in weird places where you cannot reach.
5. Non-human mobs do not have any H interaction.

Overview:
The game has a great story, better clothing system, adjusted bugs and final finishing touches would have made this game 4/5.
Personally I think that the game was released and the dev never cared to fix the bugs and add finishing touches. and just washed his hands off the project.

At the outset, Sword Princess Cistina seems like a great proposition for the corruption genre. Apparently, there are a lot of CGs to be found, some great corruption to be had as the MC slowly descends into depravity. The only problem is for a regular RPG player such as myself, I explore every nook and cranny of every map. I found out the wind attack in the first map before the first encounter and used it to defeat the bandits (apparently the scene that starts it all). After that, I was never once threatened to be defeated and after putting about two hours in spamming skills, I got bored.

The combat in this game is tiresome. It is probably one of the most boring iterations of combat in RPGM games which is saying something since the combat seldom differs. But since the enemies seem to scale with you and it takes an eternity to beat them, I just resorted to spamming high-MP skills and using my hard-earned cash to buy MP potions in order to make everything easier. The combat never feels like a challenge. Money is never hard to come by. Everything's easily beaten but a tedious chore to play through. Why am I doing this again?

Ah, yes, the H-Scenes. Didn't encounter a single one because it quickly became a "lose to view" game which I am never a fan of. The pure run is super easy though if you're so inclined.

Overall not a bad game, a good bit of story and easy map moving with the feather pointer, though its another one of those "Aha" skills achiever in combat. You get some pretty good attacks and a wide range of skills to use to keep combat interesting and fun. Story-wise its engaging to at least have a goal and you learn more as you go along, and you can choose to be corrupted. That was my draw.

If you avoid the corruption you probably get a good end, I play these for the corruption so I never hit that and found myself kind of "meh" near the final battles. Didn't really have the "feels" for the childhood friend, was kind of wimpy, and the pervert you are stuck with is easy enough to avoid after a bit.

Magic Books and spells are a plenty, but other than Heal never needed or used them. With the MP used up by skills felt they were a waste so never explored them.

Was worth it for the breadth of story and encounters, but not really getting the feel for multiple play throughs, like I prefer with these games.

Pros:

• Engaging story
• Good combat mechanics, a wide breadth of skills
• Can do a defeat for most Boss Monsters to get the scene then go defeat them again, you can cheat this and come back out at full HP/MP
• Multiple paths
• Lots of corruption opportunities

Cons:

• Good multiple playthroughs, but you may not care after one play
• Wasn't really engaged with the two party NPCs
• All MP and no TP, though you can build it up for "Aha Skills"
• Magic wasn't really needed

I really like the translation on this one, it is full of actual adult language, and pretty well done. The use of nasty talk is better than most translations I have encountered in these RPG maker games.

The images for it are just pretty darn good, and for and older game by the date release I think it is well worth playing.

There are a few place during prostitution that the translations missed, very few, but I did see a couple of instances that were still Japanese.

Story is troublesome to follow, but still it hits all the Erotic content with and A effort for sure. I like it.

As a purehearted kind of person, I liked this game alot, because you have an opportunity to play as pure heroine to the end of the game and have good pure heroic ending. It's very rare for me, especially in THIS KIND OF GAMES, so my heart and soul are happy :3
Graphics mostly not unique, but good.
Sounds is ok.
Controls is comfortable, also the map design.
But as most of rpgmaker games, you need to farm, but not to gain level or money, but for unique op weapons, that can hit many times. So you can kill anybody solo.
Also, it's unique for me, that monsters also lvl up with you, so you'll never kill them in 1 hit, until you get op weapon, and always get good amount of exp. But a fun thing, that bosses keep their level to the end (for example, bandit leader)
Plot is also good enough for me, with it's possible innocence and drama at some places.
Well, verdict ! Those, who like to play porn games to play it innocently (like me), I can recommend it. But for perverts, I guess not. This game, in my opinion, is mostly about my playstile (to play as pure hero), but you still can corrupt a princess and kill her purity. But is it be fun and interesting ? I guess not, but don't know exactly.

I have to edit my review after the Kagura update, because... well it improves a lot.

Maybe they were errors in the code when translating, but the style of the game has improved a lot, plus there are things that I already understand how they work. Even so, it still has quite a few strange things that seem like bugs, but apparently they are game mechanics (like chests that move or being left in your underwear).

The game really improves a lot... but that doesn't mean that it's a very good or excellent eroge rpg.

The story is still very good, the combat improves a little, and the game performance is also quite good (Plus they finally managed to make the first CG combat not feel so unfair.)

I don't remember if they put the flowers or not to increase the lewd in the original, but this greatly improves the fact that if I want to go the other route, it's not instantly a rape.

Anyway, now you can say that this game is at least a decent eroge rpg and you can play it if you are attracted to these types of titles.

Pros:

Cistina has a nice bubble butt :3

Cons:

- It took me about half an hour to get to any content (Other than the same animation of Cistina getting boobs groped)

- Elaborating on that point, rape was the first content. Like wtf? I hate forced content. but if thats your thing, by all means. I am not saying that Cistina needs to have sex within five minutes of playing the game. What I am saying, that it is possible to show at least something within five minutes. Like "Hot bartender checking her out" or "Creepy fat man making lewd comments" or "Super hot waifu" flirting and Cistina declining. BUT NOOOOO, we just get rape.

- The story is not unique. Its just "Hurr durr, evil monster comes back, hurr durr". And the story is BORING. Its just blocks of text coming at you.


- I got no sense of the world for the twenty minutes I played, as in, who are the characters Cistina will get lewd with? The sense I got was that it was just generic Chad (Sorry not sorry for meme). So as I tend to say in reviews, just fire up PornHub.


CONCLUSION:

- Just don't bother. There are better games out there.

- I know that "Rape" was one of the tags, but come on! First Erotica Interaction is Rape? Just don't be like me I guess, read tags before playing.

- I have now calmed down about this game. But honestly? The gist of it is this. This game is barebones, it lacks that thing that makes it stand out. And it is still boring. As a NTR game, it was just soo lacking

Can't say I'm a fan of this game, even though I enjoyed most of the studio's other works. The progression feels extremely unnatural, and there's absolutely nothing engaging about the story. It is a very typical game of its genre; in all the wrong ways. The art ranges from awkwardly bad to.. quite good actually. I like a few of the mechanics, but it's not like we haven't seen them already in other - better games. That said give it a try, you might like it more than I did.
