First af foremost it is not close to complete so should be abandoned tag. The slime dungeon not implemented, the Precursor Tower level 200 not complete and the new story arc of surviving precursors barely started. You really need to repeat the random encounters a lot to get pair bonds up unless you use cheats or the DLC later as there simply is not enough quest content to get pair bonding or levels needed.
The artwork is very cartoonish in a good way though really not a lot of art for effort (only a couple of pictures per interlude and four interludes per pairing and most dont show anything).
Story is humorous and great parody if you played any D&D especially underdark and Menzoborazan.
Some people seemed to have problems with tactical side of things but if you work the elements and pair bonds its pretty fun. Though I did end up avoiding using the melee characters totally.
The mechanics are strange with an exponential level boost that requires set amount of experience. This means very little reward for levels early but massive jumps later on if you really grind and farm wisdom shards, The big issue with this is its easy to get to far ahead of game chasing pair bondings while most characters become totally useless as behind the game. This can become a game ending issue when forced to use specific party members that behind when facing opponents that going off your random levels. The alternative is to spend even more time grinding so all characters stay roughly same level for the random encounters while still been high enough to pass the fixed level quest encounters.
