Ren'Py - Take Over [v0.88] [Studio Dystopia]

I could nitpick about various issues, and to be granted they are real issues.
The grind is aweful.
The engrish is awful.
The plot gets lost.
The dialog is unclear.
There are far too many characters with far too little interaction with each one.

But at the end of the day this is porn and a lot of issues can be forgiven if the sex scenes are good.
And vice versa, a lot of good can be ignored if the sex scenes are bad. Sex scenes are what makes or breaks a porn game.
The sex scenes are bad. They are extremely rare, requiring a ton of effort to unlock. And they just don't look good.

I love the idea of the plot. I love the world aesthetic. But I can't rate it well, I have started several times to force myself to play and stopped every time because it was a chore.

Also, aside from the bad art, there are also some very baffling decisions.
For example you get body customization... For each girl you can gene mod her to give one of the following 5 bodies:
[Ideal] = B cup boobs, too thin. small ass.
[Strong] = bony ass, 8 pack, A cup boobs. I like muscle girls but this is bad.
[Big] = very morbidly obese with very poor fat distribution. mostly in the belly. tits and ass still relatively small. I love chubby girls but this aint it.
[Young] = false advertising. more like underfed 25 year old svelte girl. A cup boobs, no ass, no curves, uncanny.
[Bimbo] = mildly curvacious. almost but not quite milf. ruined with tattoos, fake tan, bleached blonde hair, & lesbian haircut...

just... why? none of these are actually appealing.
the so called "ideal" is the only one that is not hideously ugly.
Mind you it isn't great, just that the rest are all awful.
And they also have mechanical effects too, so you might feel compelled to choose the bodytype that matches the job you assign to them.

They go to so much effort to let you customize the characters (5x the work to produce sex scenes). but completely and utterly fucked it up.
Also, ironically by having such customization they end up making their girls look the same. Because each girl has to have one of those 5 bodytypes by default, and be modifiably to the other 4 types. So it kills the ability to make each girl unique.

Take Over [v0.85]

The premise sounded pretty cool but it turns out that it also feels like the player works for the oppressive government and is forced through the boring grindy gameplay of this game. xD
All of these systems, managing resources and other ideas this game has are clearly way too overambitious and makes this game a really dull clusterfuck.
Renders and scenes are below average and makes the grind feel even more unrewarding.
I don't want to experience how it feels to work in a dystopian world, I just want to play a fun game that respects my time and this aint it.

From the way people talked about this, i thought this was going to be at least great, unfortunately i spent an hour grinding for a sex scene that was boring and lifeless. I even went to check on some other scenes, and the blowjob for Dimitria is a static image, the cock NEVER goes into her mouth. The protagonist just magically cums directly into her mouth like her stand just jacked him off in secret. If you can't put forth the effort to make a second scene with the cock inside her mouth, I don't know what to tell you.

I could go on for minutes listing every issue this game has, from the awkward dialogue feeling like something was lost in translation, to the quite honestly boring gameplay loop, the only thing saving it from a lower rating is some of the later events have some effort put into them, but there's better games to spend your time on.

Take Over definitely isn’t for everyone: it’s a sandbox that overwhelms you with options after its prologue, barely has any animations, and can easily end in a game over if you’re not paying attention.

But after playing it for a while, you realize that it’s not that hard or grindy as long as you take the time to understand its mechanics, and I can’t think of many games that not only let you alter the love interests’ personalities, body types and even gender in one case, but also decide whether to keep them for yourself or whore them out.

So I actually found it quite fun, but getting rid of as many sub-menus as possible and hiding actions/locations that aren’t available would really improve playability, and the fact that the devs keep introducing new characters when there’s already a lot of missing content for the previous ones seems a bit odd.

To be honest, this game was quite interesting at first, but when the mission system came out, the game completely turned into a ledger, where the plot was fabricated for the sake of producing CG. The highly repetitive plot can also be said to be monotonous with little diversity, and most of the body modification content is also virtually non-existent. Up to now, new characters have been released, can't we polish the content of the existing characters well? I strongly do not recommend playing this game as it will waste 4 hours of your life

I really don't want to give the game a 3 because the girls are hot, you have a lot of choice, this is a REAL corruption game, and at first it's pretty simple to pick up and play. However, this game tanks HARD as it goes on. It becomes way, WAY too complex and overblown. There is no reason to have to run numerous different agencies, government branches, manage intelligence, freedom, security and all this other stuff. You even have to train girls to run these branches and there are ideal trainings you have to do in order to max out their efficiency in said job branch. Why's this here? The idea should be about corrupting the city and the girls, not managing bureaucracy. There are even MORE systems that you can click on and it says WIP coming soon. You're going to end up killing this game from all this bloat, dude. Cut back on it in a big way, you're losing the premise of the game that you made. Other than the bloat, it's pretty good but it's a cautious recommend from me for that reason.

I'd give it 5 stars if not for Chapter 3 where game changes completely and becomes something different, while also a bit broken. It looks like 2 different games in one.

Chapters 1 & 2 were done great:
- Proper sandbox, you can repeat any sex scene by interacting with girls.
- Good story
- UI is easy to use
- 4 corruptable characters (boss, family, engineer). With all possible poses and special events.
- simple gameplay loop: craft potins, use on ladies, enjoy your life.

Chapter 3 is where everything breaks apart:
- now you are managing an organisation, instead of doing everything yourself. You have to assign tasks to your people, keep track of supply chain and heat levels in the city.
- UI is changed completely. it has bugs in itself while also partially replacing what you are already used to in previous chapters.
- some cool options are WIP, so they dont work at all
- interactions with girls are bugged. All sex options are available, but you cant go on a date with her because "you dont have emotional bond". Yes, you cant date a girl, that you have just used in every possible pose.
- corruption became a full-day event instead of short interaction. I had no chance to buy supplies at night, because at the morning I tried to corrupt a librarian. So the whole day is skipped to the next morning.
- You cant corrupt your coworkers by directly giving them potions. You have to rely on special events with a secondary character.

In its current state lategame is a chore with bugs, employee management, full-day events and minimal content with secondary girls (like barista). There is not enough payoff to grind through it.

You definitely should try this game, because its actually great at first chapters and you can easily experience them as a separate game.

It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but once you learn everything it's a lot of fun. Love how you can corrupt and pretty much do what you want with everyone. I really enjoy all the fetishes, the open mindedness and that it's one of the few games where everyone can have sex with everyone. The girls can fuck guys and girls(if you let them) and you can fuck guys and girls! So many games have a very selfish mc that can fuck whoever he wants, but god forbid if the girls have some naughty fun. Everything is optional by the way. Love it so far, very addicting and looking foreword to the next release. Keep up the open-mindedness!

An interesting sandbox game, with an intriguing world, decent characters & master/slave game play.

The story and world is what kept me playing for most part and the girls are decent enough to enjoy. It was a nice surprise how long the game is at the moment but there is definitely content not yet finished which I'm thoroughly looking forward to.

Overall enjoyable game, well done!

The story about becoming a crimeboss is fun enough and you build up alot of businesses like brothel, bar and so on, its pretty nice really and seems to work as well and the potential is great, but they made it impossible to ever get this game to work right, which will end up ruining the game insted, if it removed the hole body type option and just let the LI be like they are, the game would have a chance of being a 4 star game for sure and 5 if it was animated.

I love the guts of this dev though, shooting for the stars and i would love to see a flawless working game with options like body types.

Before getting into why they made it impossible for them selfs, let me warn you about the forced LIs, you cant say no to having sex with someone no matter if its a street whore or someone you just hate, game is made so MC has to corrupt them and for some reason he has to fuck each and every one of them at some point, so if you dont like LIs being forced on you then stay away from this one, its a pure fuckfest game.

Most know how much more work it takes just to make a few LIs pregnant in a AVN, it needs a shitload of scenes for each and that takes a long time as dev, which is why most do it at the endings.

This game takes it to a whoooole other level, making alot of LIs and all of them will at some point be able to have a body transfer in a way, so you can pick petite,strong,fat,ideal, thats 4 body types for each LI, its just not possible unless you spend years and years building the game and have a huge team working on it, personaly i just dont belive that it can be done.

Same for sex scenes just one LI would need 4 sex scenes trow one more in for a treesome you would need need like 32 sex scenes or something to have all the body types and the mix of body types, and thats just sex scenes then add the 20+ LIs with each having 4 optional body types, and all the diffrent mix between them when they show up in a scene together, the amount of work would be never ending.

And it shows already, if you change a fat LI into a petite LI she will still show as fat LI in most scenes and even in sex scenes, like i made the big tits research doc go petite before she maxed out corruption and doing the hole quest line for corruption she was still big tits and not petite, same when you go visit her in the office shes not petite, which really makes the hole body type option pointless when it dosent work anyway.

It also has 3 routes as well NTR/Sharing/MC only, so thats adds to the workload as well, i picked MC only but that has flaws as well, take the house/farm if you click the look around and scolding you will see Petra getting fucked by a black dude even if you put her as no sharing and MC only, so it can still show NTR even in none NTR path, thats just not good enough.

Sandbox part isent bad but it could really use a guide so you know what to do, instend off clicking around to find the next step if you missed some text, it does have a bit of grind but its ok.

Game is not animated which also lower the value of gameplay, there are a few picture to picture movemet but not much not that it would change much.

There are a shitload of sex scenes but they are short and boring, most times you just see a picture of dick in pussy and thats it, dont think it will satify anyone or even be fap worthy for anyone.
Virgin scene are really bad as well.

Music is about averge background stuff, not bad but nothing special either.

I might revisit this one once its closer to being complete if it ever gets there, but i dont think they will ever try to make that body type thing work.

Take Over [v0.66] [Studio Dystopia]
I'll start by saying that 3/5 is an inflated rating, it has too many problems to receive a sufficient rating, but it is a game that I liked, this is the most important thing, therefore 3/5.

Take Over is a very simple game, without mini-games, without dubbing, with monotonous background music that gets boring after a while and therefore you can easily play it without it, yet it manages to do its duty, it's a game that every now and then I'm happy to re-download.

Despite the simple structure, the game has various problems, and they are problems that are quite annoying.


Overall I recommend the game.

Played the game for oof 4 hours or so by now, but I got bored and uninstalled it now to make room for something new.

The game concept in itself is really cool, and the dev really went for something with the intelligence, heat, suspicionl levels etc. But honestly? After I got a little established with the serum and came in charge of the intelligence operations, I never even touched it any more. I create intelligence, freedom, serum, research and money (which all seem very useless btw) and never even had a headache once I realised what is what (which I think the explanation could have been better, too).

Well, getting to the animations.... They are okay, I think, but the background is really terrible, the few animations are clunky and unnatural. The actual models are quite hot, and it's possible to adjust the looks, too. (for some).

Once you fuck a girl and corrupted her, you kinda just drop her and move on to the next one, all the time. Many,many girls along the way, even some sub-boys for you to fuck (if you're into it (I am not, glad I could opt out)).

The reason why I give it 2 stars is broken down to really just one, big complaint: It's an overly elaborate and arrogant graphic novel, with mediocre porn segments.

The dialogue is really long at times, pretty uninteresting, too, and it's just a grind to go through your tasks. Sleep, click "corrupt organisation x", read the novel, enjoy a few mediocre sex scenes, automatically end sleeping for the night, go back out to the location, click "corrupt organisation x", read the novel, enjoy a few mediocre sex scenes yadayadayadayada

There are a few choices in game, I believe, but it's mostly just "keep her for yourself or let her fuck others, too?" sort of choices.

It's just boring and repetitive if you're a couple of hours into the game, and you have no control over anything important. The dev should have just opted for a more straight forward story telling and should save the player a couple thousand clicks.

The game has fallen off over the years. Good quality then, low quality now. However, I'm not saying that the game needed a remake/revamp.(In fact, I personally think remakes have higher chances of killing development than saving it). This game just does not have anything to come back to. Characters? Old ones are 'put to the side' once they're corrupted and replaced with new characters that you're barely attached to. Gameplay? It's has the common click-and-grind sandox like the hundreds of other games in F95. Graphics? Come on, they're generic as they can be. The only aspect that I had looked forward to in later versions was the unique system where the girls you corrupted could be customized to your liking. Unfortunately, that turned out to not have much depth either. In other words, the game just kept expanding, but not improving. There is a shit load of content, I'll give you that.

Would have been a 5 if the game was much more polished. This game has above average premise, story telling, and renders. However, the bloat of side girls and unfinished sections let it down (outdated subjects tab, entertainer/courtesan scenes unimplemented, incomplete scenes for all body types, triggers, and traits). Not really bothered about the "grind" as it could be solved by a few console commands.

I'm impressed with how he could keep the girls' personality different despite adding new ones but this game is shows the downside of adding new girls with every mission. The newly added girls lack depth and the depth of the main 5-7 girls is affected. For example, look at Margaret and the girls beyond her. They all have the 6 basic repeatable scenes apart from their story scenes. But the main ones (Celia, Katy, Dimi, Jana) have body alteration scenes, special scenes, triggers, training scenes, better profiles in "subjects" tab.

I would have preferred that he kept 10 or less girls (Celia, Katy, Dimi, Jana, Vera, Margaret, Emma, Erika, and a few) and just invested in them. I admit that girls like Jovanka and Ljijana are necessary and are unique enough to be included but look at Margaret, Claire, Elise, and Alenka. They're useless at the moment.

Look at how much content Vera is involved in. She gets so much scenes. Now imagine if Celia replaced Cynthia and Claire's roles. Imagine if Jana replaced Alenka. Imagine if Emma or Katy just did Jasey's scenes. What if Dimi was more than just a perverted scientist? I just want to describe how unnecessary the addition of some girls are.

Also, I initially thought that the training and body alteration mechanic meant to give versatility to the roles that the girls could fill. What was combat training and advanced tasks training meant to do? I think the bloat of side girls that was introduced killed its potential. I really would have preferred it if it was just 7-10 main girls by his side helping him in his path to domination.

In summary, I think the side girl bloat made the experience feel impersonal and shallow. It also made his development somewhat harder to maintain as his attention is split across so much girls instead of a select few.

Anyway, this is gonna come out of nowhere but I think it paints the best picture of how I feel about the game. The reason why Ash Ketchum uses only 6 pokemon per region is to build a bond and provide depth. If he used a different pokemon in each episode, then there's not much bond and depth.

I really like this game. The main plot is kinda easy to understand but the complex story based mechanics and economy management are awesome. Took me almost week to even comprehend the complexity and mechanics. And the girls are totally awesome. Kinda sad that some bits are still WIP but I can look past that.

I remember not liking this game the last time I played it but I could not remember why. After all it has many things that I enjoy, corruption, incest, milfs. So I decided to download it and really figure out the problem and I think I have it. The scenes don't really connect, and you miss a lot of content by just out pacing through regular play. It doesn't help that events are selected through a menu and not shown periodically nor do you need them to progress. Sounds wonderful right? Don't have to skip days to get one scene you need to progress. Except now the scenes feel disjointed, you could just use a bunch of serums to completely corrupt every girl and ignore all their scenes til that point. Which isn't good because I'm pretty sure for a lot of people who like corruption want to see the downfall, watching the journey from proper normal member of society to a completely depraved cock hungry slut is the appeal and you don't see the journey unless you decide to seek it out in menus within menus. It could be improved very easily though, by just having the events shown to us without selecting them in a menu. Probably too deep for that to happen now but next game the dev makes that's about corruption could have it like that. For now though we have this and because we don't get the journey of corruption for characters which again is the appeal of corruption I have to give this a regrettable 2. because everything else is fine but that problem ruins the experience.

It's basically Lab Rats with bells and whistles and better graphics, for those of you who played that game. If you haven't, this is a sandbox game in which the game cycle is: research --> craft mind control serums --> feed mind control serums to female characters for progressingly more erotic scenes --> research and craft some more serums. There are bells and whistles like suspicion score and facility upgrades and behavior/body modifications, all of which sounds more grand than what they actually are. Personally I think this game suffers the same problem that Lab Rats has: the pay off for all the grinding and training is just not very satisfying.

havent touched the game in a while, remembered it was a decent game so decided to try it again.

Great concept with a lot of possibilities
the characters are hot
renders are good and used wisely (game is only 600mb and has A LOT of content)
it has some good new features such as a new interaction tab ( that for some reason only unlocks mid-game)

now for the list of bad features,
menus within menus that makes it very hard to see a lot of scenes as they are easily missed due to lack indicator that they were unlocked or even existed so its easy to "out corrupt them"
some scenes trigger unreasonable time skips that can literally game over you,
there are also some choice based scenes, and it passed me off that some i can replay and change my choice (love this feature) and others are set in stone,

progressing is messed up,
feels like the game becomes linear as it progresses.

oh... and bugs... lots and lots of bugs.

The game is generally good, the story is interesting to start with, the graphics are nice, and the gameplay actually expands later on. However, the game doesn't seem to have anywhere to go after you corrupt your main targets, and doesn't seem to have anything more to offer than just new characters thrown in to corrupt.

It is generally a good game, and most of it is quite fun, but ultimately doesn't seem to know what to do with its own potential.

Take Over is a time management game about life in a dystopian country and the "brave" scientist seeking to liberate those around him... by corrupting them with mind control drugs of course.

The art and scenes are fairly good. I could do without the thin attempts at animation, but the character renders are good. The scenes are fairly diverse and get pretty adventurous, both good things.

Unfortunately, it's rather obvious where the game goes wrong after even minutes of playtime: the core game loop. If you wish to progress the game and unlock new scenes, you need to produce serum and dose women while keeping government suspicion low. This consists of three actions, working to lower suspicion and make money, producing serum with either money or suspicion (stealing supplies instead of buying them), and drugging women which you can do any time you could talk to them. It's grindy and unavoidable.

EDIT - Fortunately, that's not the entire game. While it took an unacceptably long time, eventually you reach something like a free-roam state in the game. At this point, you're focused on corrupting individual institutions or gathering funds to rebuild facilities for your "rebellion." The resource acquisition grind is taken over by a daily resource yield from your buildings and mind controlled agents. The grind dies and you're left to wander around digging up scenes with your girls and training them in debauchery. It's actually a lot of fun.

If the game had been more like this from the beginning, I'd have very little but good things to say about it. There's a pretty massive amount of content to find in the game once it opens up properly. I'm personally a huge fan of the amount of voyeurism, exhibitionism, and free use content. Honestly, that might be something like half to two-thirds of the content. It might be to the point where if that isn't your jam you might want to move on, especially given the grind.

Nevertheless, outside of the grindy, dismally boring early game, which should really be replaced with literally anything else or at least be greatly shortened, I actually really enjoyed the game overall. I almost quit before the game opened up properly, but I'm glad I stayed with things. Some of the scenes in this game are fire.
