Ren'Py - Takei's Journey [v0.27.2 P2] [Ferrum]

Foreword
I haven't watched a single episode of Naruto or Boruto, only seen snippets and memes. So I can't comment on lore accuracy. Instead my review will judge this game solely on its own merits.
Also, this review is based on version 0.27.1 P1 (November 2024).

Character Design & Visuals 4/5 ★★★★☆
The character designs are good and varied but not outstanding. I'd say there's something for everyone here. If you're familiar with Boruto, you probably already know what to expect, although I can't comment on accuracy. To me, the character designs were the most positive part of the game.
Visually, you can expect standard Koikatsu with the usual environments. Personally, I don't see a problem with that, but I know some people do.

Erotica 3/5 ★★★☆☆
What can be done and with whom is rather limited for a long time and takes a considerable amount of grinding to expand. I personally enjoy a slow-burn, especially if it is done to enhance the romance or character-/worldbuilding aspect, but I also understand that's not everyone's cup of tea.
There is a moderate variety of fetishes covered here, although those are very much tied to specific characters. So if you like the character, but not their fetish or if you like the fetish, but not the character, too bad.

Story & Lore 3/5 ★★★☆☆
In and of itself, the overall story is servicable and, from my limited knowledge, fits the universe it is set in. There is obviously a lot to be borrowed from the Naruto/Boruto universe, although to an outsider, that can just look like a bunch of Chuuni talk.

Gameplay & Choices 2/5 ★★☆☆☆
The player somewhat has the freedom not to persue a few characters. Unfortunately, to progress with many of them, you are required to at least get to a certain point with another character, you might not like. There is also the main story, which can be a bit of a grind to get through, in order to unlock new characters or more events with known characters.

Writing & Pacing 1/5 ★☆☆☆☆
By far my biggest problem with the game and what pulled the rating down significantly for me. Either English isn't the writer's first language or they are very young and unexperienced, which is reflected in the consistently poor grammar.
Which could be overlooked, if not for the whole dialog writing and character choices being dumb and frustrating. The main character is the worst offender of this. Playing as a perpetually horny teenager, who regrets his pervy actions in one minute and gropes a girl the next, while also constantly lying, in order to keep his harem, is just not compelling. Especially, since the player has no say in this.
TL;DR Writing-wise, this is basically School Days' Makoto Itou in the Boruto universe. If you like those, you are probably gonna enjoy this as well.
As for the pacing: While the overachring plot (saving all males) is progressing very slowly, the corruption aspect of each individual character at least has a decent pacing, I find. Or rather it would be decent, if you weren't required to progress with other characters and the main story as well.

Overall 4/10
While the erotic part is done well enough, the game part is lacking.
Character designs are the best aspect of the game, while writing is the worst aspect.
I do recommend this, if you are a fan of Naruto/Boruto (or Shounen in general) and School Days.
I don't recommend this, if you can't overlook bad/frustrating writing and grammar or if you're just in for the porn.

v0.26 Part 2

This is about a 3.5 due to how grindy it is without the cheat but the writing and porn are pretty good.

Pros:

This isn't just a Konoha brothel simulator. Sure, you're the only man left on the planet after an alien abducts all the rest and you have magical seduction powers, but there's a plot and you have to progress with the women and convince them to do lewd acts with you. It's not just everyone jumping on your dick as soon as they see you and I appreciate that.

Also, the lewd scenes, especially the threesomes, are very spicily written and rendered.


Cons:

This is stupidly grindy. It's up there in the top tier of most-grindy sandboxes. The women all have three stats: relationship, love, and lust and you can get 1 point in one stat every time you visit them. So you need to visit every woman 40+ times. In addition, the main story is gated behind your Chakra stat and there is only one way to get it. You get 3 points per visit to Sakura and you need over 240 to finish the main story now and it's only going to get worse with further patches.

The in-game walkthrough is hideous, clunky, and barely helpful. You don't really need it because the game highlights events once you've met the requirements and you meet requirements by raising everyone's stats but there are a lot of hidden dependencies so you'll often have the stats the game says are required but nothing will happen because you haven't done some other, unknowable thing yet.

I suggest doing what I did: play until you get bored/frustrated and then download the cheat and bump everyone's stats to max and watch a bunch of porn.

Game Review: Naruto Nostalgia Reignited

I’ll be honest – I didn’t expect much from this game at first. But wow, I was blown away from the moment I started playing. I ended up in a 9-hour gaming session that sacrificed my entire night of sleep… no regrets, though!

As someone who grew up with Naruto, reading the manga since volume 4, this game hits deep. Sure, Naruto got a little chaotic after the Chunin Exams and Sasuke's departure, but I followed it to the very end, which makes playing this game a nostalgic trip back to my childhood. Although, I have to say, the title doesn’t quite capture that nostalgia. A name with something like "ninja" or "village" would have made it easier to identify, especially for us long-time fans who’d spot it immediately.

Content
There is an *incredible amount of content* packed into this game, and I have to give serious credit to the devs for that. The storyline is slow-burning and builds up an atmosphere that keeps you wanting more, particularly in the arcs focusing on classic characters like Hinata and Sakura. When certain plot twists finally happened, I was over the moon – at around 7 a.m.!

Characters
The character selection is extensive, perhaps a bit too extensive for my taste. I’m not super invested in the Boruto generation; my heart is with the Naruto and Shippuden cast. The female dead cast are also much more attractive than most of the Boruto cast, like Kushina, Rin, Itachis mother etc. Too bad they are corrupted from the beginning. I seriously recommend to have the focus stay on the Naruto cast, as they’re the main draw for fans like me.

Personal favorites include Hinata, Sakura, Ino, Kurenai, and Tsunade, and it’s a treat that they’re all featured here. Even characters from the past, like Kushina, Rin, and Itachi’s mother, make appearances. Although they start with a set path, it’s refreshing to see familiar faces brought back.

Story
The storyline goes above and beyond what I expected. There’s real depth here, and I’m impressed by how the characters question their own motives and decisions rather than just falling into one-dimensional roles. It’s cool to see them have their own agency, making the story more engaging and less predictable.

Visuals & Models
While the character models might not stand out as revolutionary, I appreciate the details, especially with the cast's outfits. Hinata and Sakura’s looks in particular really stand out, capturing their personalities while bringing something fresh. The wedding rings on married characters add a special touch – it’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference and shows the devs’ commitment to character authenticity.

In conclusion, this game’s nostalgia factor is off the charts, and the story and character dynamics make it a must-play for any Naruto fan. I’m even considering supporting the devs on Patreon – I’d love to see what they come up with next!

I don't expect anything from this game, and it turns out very good. Amount of content is just wow, and frequency of updates make me feel that author just live on pc. H scenes are good, normal renders too, writing is ok. What can I say, recommend to play for everyone

It's good it takes a while to get going and the writing is somewhat lacking with a decent amount of grammar mistakes especially later on but otherwise a pretty decent experience

The game is long, erotic, and has good varied characters (i don't watch anime) .
It has a decent overarching plot that even if told in a poor way still feels inspired yeah it's relatively childish but whatever I was engaged

My only real gripe with this game is that it can get pretty grindy especially if you don't know what stat you need to increase to advance the story. I had spent multiple 20 minute periods just advancing the stats on all of the characters until I finally level the correct thing and get 20 events in a row

the game is good, the dialogues are really not bad, but the sex scenes dialogues are very emotionless and do not last 10 seconds. dialogues during the relationship should be longer and provocative, these dialogues are far from emotion and enthusiasm,,,,,, ‘come do it, put it in, take it out, bye bye’

Story/Character:
Set in the world of Naruto/Boruto, you are one of the last remaining of the Takei clan whom is literally the last man on Earth when men were completely eradicated from the face of the Earth. Only leaving all the women on earth just for the MC. The only way to bring them back is to kill a woman who took all those men. The plot of this was something I was not a fan of. I understand the premise of the plot, where you are able to control and corrupt all the women in the game. It just felt kinda lacklustre. You were proposed as the prophecy in the game, heralded as the chosen one to save them all. However, it’s just portrayed as that you’re the only guy in the world, meaning all the horny women will come chasing after you.

I’m not a fan of the MC. He just feels weak and incompetent. He has a special ability where when he touches women he can make them super horny. Just feels like a cheap way to corrupt the women, the corruption feels like a cop-out. No real creativity. The personality and morals of the MC also contradict himself. At times, he is more than happy to steal from a married woman whilst at other times he feels remorse & guilt. It makes no sense, as in the beginning of the game the whole goal seems that he wants to fuck every woman in the world.


Content:
There is a lot of content. I mean a shit ton of content in the game. Honestly, it is way too much content for what the grind seems. I do commend the game for having lots of content. Every single female character in Naruto or Boruto universe is in this game. With other original characters as well, but they don’t stand out as the other original characters.

Each character has plenty of content to go through. At least each of the characters would have 5+ events. The more popular ones such as Sakura have more than 20. I do like how the gallery system is set up and is very easy to access. It’s split into two sections, events and gallery. The walkthrough is also comprehensive and well done. It shows what missions need to be done and the requirements. I just wish that the mission had hyperlinks to the character that has that mission to access it. Saves the time of finding the necessary character to complete that mission.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is a sandbox game where you have to increase various stats of the MC to corrupt the women and to access the mission.

There are 5 stats - ninjutsu, genjitsu, taijustu, chakra and lust points. All these stats are increased by doing repeatable events from interacting with certain characters.

It’s split into two sections main story and character story.
It’s pretty self-explanatory, the main story compromises of the main story where the MC is progressing to become stronger and more knowledgeable to defeat the woman. It’s mainly story-driven with some sexual content. This is the story where the MC is more portrayed as a good guy and doesn’t follow the corruption path.
The character story is composed of corrupting characters who the MC’s special powers of making women horny through his touch and his terrible charisma. I do like the slow progression of the corruption, it is gradual and builds up. It goes from touching, blowjobs and then to sex. It’s not immediate bimbo corruption unless the character is heels over for the MC. But there’s just so much content for each content that it feels like a major grind.




Visuals:
For koitatsu visuals, it’s pretty much up to standard. Quality is good but nothing to be praised by. The character models are pretty much to the tee when it comes to the likeness to the original characters. The sex animations are pretty average as well. I do love how the world is very immersive, it does feel like it is set in the world of Naruto/Boruto.
Sound:
The sound design in this game is pretty okay as well. Nice background music that gives off the Naruto/Boruto vibes. The sound effects are pretty meh. The sex sounds and moaning during sex scenes are pretty okay as well. It does it’s job and purpose.

I think this an okay game for naruto/boruto fan to play, but the grind for the content I feel is way too much. I wouldn’t recommend to play this game if you’re not a fan into naruto/boruto as it just doesn’t do you any service as it feels bland. Fans of naruto/boruto will appreciate the fanservice and flashbacks to the series.

The only thing that bothers me about this game is that you should have played as Boruto instead of a nobody. Specially after that Hinata tease at the beggining. Your mom in this game is fine and dandy, but nobody beast Hinata as an incestous mother! EDIT: The lack of MILFs with bushes in this game is absolutely disturbing, on top of that, the MC's mother had a bush and the developer decided to shave her, needless to say, that has put me off from playing this any further. As if the needless amount of dialogue wasn't enough.....

This game has more too it than I expected. The amount of characters and the amount of scenes is great. The animation for the scenes was great, coming into the game i thought it was going to be still images and there would only be 2 angles but man was i surprised. I haven't played many games but this one is the first one that I've like so much that I have given a review.

Naruto parody game #1000 now with the worst "protagonist" yet. Only giving this two stars because the sexual content is decent albeit standard koikatsu stuff. I ended up reaching a point where I just could not stomach the story or the main character anymore.

I really cannot fathom why anyone is rating this 5 stars apart from being really horny for Naruto characters and this having slightly better porn than the rest.

I have to be honest, the title of the game is unappealing but the content is 10 stars, I wish it wasn't so... how should I say it... provocative? misleading? I don't get the right word, sorry, whatever the point is that the game is really worth it, I want to see a lot more content, in fact I'm with v0.16 and I just saw that v0.17 came out, so .... I have homework for later hahahaha

the writing is all over the place and, only few good scenes.. there are a lot of games that has chosen ones innit but there's like a split choice whether they're gonna be a good or bad protag, but this guy is just straight up villain... what's the point of the villain that lives inside his head then?

Scenes are alright but the story really needs to decide if it's a serious business fantasy or a harem building fuck quest. The protagonist angsts about boning a milf in one scene and then turns around and is like "I can't wait to bone that milf" in another. You can't have it both ways, just pick one and stick with it.

The serious business plot is also boring, so I know which one I would go with.

Really not sure I get the good reviews I saw for this one. There's really not much good to say about it.

First of all, the models are OK. Nothing to write home about, but not bad either. Though I do hate the model for the MC, not sure why the dev decided to make them look so young either.

Second, the writing is mediocre at best. The prologue to the game is the worst offender. The exposition was dull, the worldbuilding was boring, and so on. I think that most people on this site are so used to bad russian translations that anytime they play a game with fewer typos and spelling errors, they think that's enough to call the writing "good". But in reality, the characters are all poorly written, the dialogue is boring and unnatural, the structure of the plot is uninteresting, etc...

Third, the "gameplay" is terrible. The game is insanely grindy, the walkthrough is confusing and unintuitive, and the fighting mini-game is boring. I don't even mind when games are grindy, typically. But this game is next-level grindy. You have to repeat training events literally dozens of times just to get to the next scene. What's the point? Why would the dev insist on needing to repeat so much content?

I'm really only giving this 2 stars because there's a decent amount of content in it, but what's there is not very good.

Play this game if literally all you care about is fucking poorly written fanfic Naruto characters. If you want anything more from it, you will be disappointed.

A bit grindy but fun. Lots of characters, most are done very well. Some grammar things to fix up but, all-in-all, enjoyable. Updates come out consistently, some characters take a while to develop as there are only so many that can be done in any given update. The patch content also makes a difference...all characters are from Boruto era, meaning they are genin....

Nice story, animations, and a variety of characters. The mechanics keep the gameplay itself interesting while the story dialogue is nice and easy to follow. I'd say this is a must for any Naruto fan out there.

The story could of been interesting if you was not playing a fake hero that has the personality of a villain. His personality is not of a pervert it's truly that of a villain.. Hey I am the only male so I am going to use my powers to get the girls.

No concern for anyone but himself.. I don't play games to play a damn villain.. You can be a pervert of a hero but this MC is total and utter garbage with no charisma at all. How can anyone enjoy playing a loathsome being like that?

If you love Naruto then you just have to play this game. The writing is decent and the game is a bit grindy and it can take some time to find some events but like I said, If you love Naruto, you just have to play this game

promising game with a lot of cute girls, not to mention not many games here having a barely legal characters as the main girls to target with, the creator have a great sense of depravity that combined with creativity to create this, hope to see more updates in the future!
