VN - Ren'Py - Tales from the Unending Void [S3 v0.23 Extra Edition] [Perverteer]

I played until Chapter 14 of Season 2. In my opinion, almost an excellent game, but the absence of build up and tension for the incestuous relationships were a great take down for me. Although, in general, was a great experience. I loved the lore, the world created, the little things to enrich the atmosphere of profound isolation in deep space and there's a codex, something that many games should consider too. For the adult content, this game has plenish of it, you can't complain, there're many kinks and flavors for everyone in animated sex scenes without sound effects and zero build up. I wished something more dark and nefarious, some scheming and evil women plotting against the MC, using his lust against him, put him and his loved ones in real danger, but until now the MC is very happy in keeping the family together.

I have been meaning to give this game a go for a long time. I love sci fi games and the genre as a whole. Now I read some reviews and mostly positive. The last review though gave it a poor rating so it made me finally pull the trigger and try it myself.

I am very picky when it comes to sci fi as I love the ME world, Star Wars the original not the fake star wars now, and even some star trek. Game wise I always compare stories to ME and I am not saying this game equals that story at all as that would be near impossible for me.

What I can say as I love the world, the unique nature of the characters, the races, and the world as a whole. The graphics are not the best I have seen, but I actually love the story and how it builds. The beginning got me hooked and I am enjoying this game.

Don't believe these one star ratings this game is really a lot of fun and if you read all the dialogue you will get a very immersive experience. If not a five its at the very least a four and certainly worth your time.

It's just another fantasy/science-fiction lore out there without any quality.
I mean, this one sucks so much that I really forgot when was the last time I have played a science fiction space opera this bad.
1. The dev has no idea how space system works.
2. He has no idea about any type of military academy too. I mean all of them were in the final year of their academy and never have ever seen a glimpse of them flexing what they have learned from the academy. I mean, that's not how any top tier academy works. They were bunch of ignorant ass moved around by the ignorant dev without any coherent plot. No incident was explained well, which is a must for science fiction. From the start to the middle all the incidents the dev used to drive the plot were improperly explained. 3. I don't see anything to like about this VN, the story is super bad, even a grade shcooler will come up with better story. The render is super bad, maybe on par with 2020 quality but even a newcomer has better quality than this VN. The animation is trash of course.
4. The main problem with this VN is, it is 3 season long but there is no sub plot and the main plot is as weak as the sub plot. That's why I said, even a grade schooler will come up with a better story than this guy.
5. I am not the one to complain about choices as I don't mind playing kinetic story as long as the story is good. Bu I thought I come clear here, Most of the choices are just plain fake. Either they have no impact or forces you to choose the other one after a couple of dialogues. Pretty pathetic I would say.

Yes, this game is worth playing now, even though it's not done. There's days of content for you, lots of interesting LIs, a competent story that has readable English, a main character who isn't a fool, and tons of incest.

If you love sci-fi outside of porn and jerk off to incest stuff, you'll like this.

The basic main story is pretty good but the lack of explanations, shear cluelessness of the main characters and how boringly obvious the first main quest ends leaves you feeling very very unsatisfied.

Pretty much nothing about the start of this game makes any sense at all,
The main story choices are purely decorative, i.e. its a kinetic novel, nothing you pick will change the story in any way
There are love interest choices but apart from seeing the sex scenes with them it doesn't really change anything either at this point in the game.

For a game set in space there is a huge lack of aliens in any main role, also the male characters Kit/Thim lack any purpose in the game which is a same as i liked both of them more than the MC who left his sister without a second thought and went right to bed, has ugly curly hair, owns a slave, fucks drugged up whores and even through he has been through training twice still doesn't know anything about anything, is a career criminal and if he had a brain he would have realized his first plan of finding his aunt would have been easier if they didn't steal a ship and just waited to be back to port before leaving(could even have called ahead while on route).

The way they introduce a lot of the women is just the worst, new woman is forced on you(could have liked them more if i had any say in how the mission they were introduced went), she does or has done something really bad, then when you hate/dislike her, her personality does a 180 and suddenly she has a heart of gold but now you don't trust/like her because anyone who would do what they did would also fake being nice to you to get what they want from you.

There is pointless "free-roam" where you have to do everything.

The art is a weird mix of sci-fi, modern day and medieval which makes it impossible to get a feel for what is strong or weak when it comes to ships and weapons.

Female body types are all pretty much the same and poorly proportioned at best, large breasts are not very desirable in the future apparently.

Group sex scenes are very good but the single ones are pretty dull, there are some kinks but only really in passing(shame you couldn't take characters like D'ee or Taera with you).

There is a trans person that you are not obligated to be with(which is nice) but its a shame the character is not used to there full potential and just sits there as the token trans person forced into every game at the moment.

To be quite honest, this game deserves 5/5.
In some parts you can tell it was rushed but it's still cool, the character models are great, now in relation to the story itself I'm not so confident to give it 5 stars, for me it'll be 3/5 or 4/5.

Positives / neutral:

1. The fundamentals of the game are in essence great for VN
2. The story is interesting, the interactions are decent-well told and somewhat emotionally connecting (until somewhere around episode 15-20)
3. The graphics are (on average) good (that said there are sporadically scenes where it is clearly low effort, like where they visit that "party"; the building looks from the outside like shit, missing set dressing around building)
4. The animations are at first mediocre but later get a lot better
5. The music is befitting most of the time
6. I like that there is a codex and scene gallery! I suggest also to integrate a cheat menu in the future, optional ofc. for convenience
7. Consider explicitly allowing to disable pissing, futa and gay stuff, so users that don't want it, don't accidentally trigger it - as a game start question & preference option.
8. Consider asking the user if he wants to save at the end of a chapter; saw this in another game, mighty useful

Negatives:

1. I wish longer animations with a bit more variety (reasonable) and an updated to the first episodes' animations that are clearly of lower quality (shorter, less variety).
2. I wish there would be fewer characters; clearly too many females and the quality suffers a lot as a result - you could easily delete 2 characters from the crew.
3. Male side characters are barely of relevance. What is the point of them being there? You could easily narrate the whole story without them. Rather delete 2-4 females and make the males relevant, i.e. invite them more to tag along (xxx) or hook them up with other females, do friendship stuff (like get shitfaced) etc. etc. etc.
4. The many characters kill pacing of the story
5. The overall story starts suffering past episode 15 - a phenomena called "escalation" kicks in. There is always a bigger threat and it gets more and more ridiculous. After the first big threat is defeated, you should have ended the story, rounding it off. Instead, invest the time to improve the first episodes (bring them standard wise in line with the others) and finish the game. You can always start a new story (same universe or something completely new, also economically makes more sense).

For future stories (this story is too far advanced to change this, but what I would have done regarding the too many main characters):

• Main characters: Eva, Nadya, Kit, Celine, Vess/Jade-merge!
• Persistent side characters (no romance with MC): Thim, Thyia (maybe you can have a sidestory where you hook them up )
• And if futa/gay is a must: Merge Raene/Ziv into 1 character where there is a choice if they stay Futa or becoming Gay through a story event (dev happy, players have choice).
• Since you would have fewer characters to take care of you could instead invest the time to polish game better, improve existing characters or add more options like hooking up your fellow friends; like imagine you hook up Kit & Eva, when dating Nadya yourself. Or Kit/Thim and possibly others can be taken with you for more group action, experiences like getting drunk, etc. It would increase immersion/ variety and thereby story & gameplay quality a lot.

⠀⠀Overarching plot, albeit it's nothing new or ground-breaking, is still entertaining (for porn games standard). The fact that scenery and circumstances constantly change is like a breath of fresh air. Although it suffers from holes in logic and boring segments:
⠀⠀How did a group of space rangers with guns lose to half-naked women with swords? How come future military do not carry first aid with them and cannot treat a wound and stop the bleeding? So they are not advanced enough to have first-aid kits but apparently smart enough to shoot their own cadets with lethal weapons for desertion during a fucking training mission? Why did they take the hostile guy that caused the alarm along with them? Thim became friendly and agreeable way too fast considering that MC abducted him, which basically ruined his status and career. Yeah turns out he wanted to become a doctor and all, but still doesn't make much sense. There are PSAs all over galaxy about our crew being wanted criminals, yet they still don't care enough to try changing their or the ship's appearances or something? Even worse they're never punished, because nobody seems to care anyways.
⠀⠀I don't really appreciate the Fascism bad, Democracy good mumbo-jumbo, which is present not only in the main "Sovereignty" plot-line, but also during the quest with the purple skinned people. It's too primitive and in your face. The similar situation is happening with Raene and his "transitioning" drama. I would have liked to have an option to take his father's side but there is none. And to discourage players from even thinking that, the author made father an asshole to an unreasonable degree.

⠀⠀Choices don't really branch the main story itself as of yet, in spite of many years of active development, but you can get different scenes and outcomes that only matter temporarily. And obviously you can choose who to pursue sexually, even to the point of redundancy, because for some reason the dev provides like 20 opportunities per character to turn them down.
⠀⠀Building relationships is mostly slow and organic, all of them are romantic in nature, but you can choose to treat two of the girls like sex slaves. And by that I mean like actual slaves, not just sub/dom roleplay.
⠀⠀I liked the soundtrack, most of the time it's accentuates the desired atmosphere. Unfortunately zero sfx.
⠀⠀Porn is kinda boring. Animations are mediocre. Scenes are plenty but there is barely any variety. Overall not repellent, but rarely exciting. Women models have pretty realistic "down to earth" body proportions, but still attractive.

In conclusion I don't think that the writing is praise-worthy enough to be worth audience's attention if you took all the porn out of it, and the porn itself is kinda mid. What I saw wasn't bad, but not memorable enough to stick around for another couple of years to see where it all ends.

A solid family friendly space adventure, let's take a look at the positives:
- A lot of erotic content.
- Nice looking models and renders.
- Decent story and English.

The Negatives:
- The pacing takes a hit because of the large amount of sexual content.
- The story keeps moving from planet to planet without taking a breath.
- Too many love interests (10) sharing the already meager screen time.
- One single audio track on loop. No sounds.
- The sex scenes are rather bland and devoid of passion.

PROS:

1. Models are really good looking, well on average, my favourite being Nadya, because milf and tits (.)(.).
2. General visuals are not bad, dated now, but fine enough.
3. Writing is solid, well structured and while there is a lot to read, its not completely stupid to read as in pointless, the game has a strong story to it.
4. Story, per above point is good, there is a fleshed out story here and characters are unique and complex
5. Pacing is fairly decent, you get plenty of action and lewd scenes. BUT, see CONS
6. Able to set relationships and also choose LIs and sometimes even the direction you take with a particular LI like love or hate etc.

CONS:

1. While it seems like there are plenty of kinks, there really are not, sad though as you sitting on sci-fi where you could really get away with a lot, especially when so far into the future.
2. Sounds, non-nada-fuckol, this is bad...no music, ambience or lewd sounds...very sad. Some music has been introduced.
3. Animations, OK, but not much really, least they there eh. This is small gripe, its an old game so...
4. Sexual scenes are many, but they get boring after the first 20, they do not vary enough and they simply not that good.
5. Added to above, the characters also do not really change much, the sexual relationship doesn't grow, evolve and characters do not change physically e.g. hair, make-up, clothes, bodies (see opinions below)

FINAL THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS:

• Game is still not done, 5 years+ and we still not done with this. Its a long winded, slow ass game and they character relationships are good and all that and yes they long to cultivate, which is not bad per se but its all pretty vanilla and boring at the end of the day.
• Per above point, the game needs to get done, but whats annoying is that there are little kinks and what may be kinky is not really, like pregnancy, this is suppose to be a kink, like an "ultimate" kink, yet our MC does not knock up anyone (yet) and what makes pregnancy kinky, is that the LIs actually start to show, they have a belly as the game progresses and they lactate and they horny all the time...etc etc etc...What we have here, like in so many other games is the idea of it, the LI wailing the MC must knock them up, so it happens, the status goes from not pregnant to pregnant (still hansnt in this game, FML) but thats it, a text change. This is such a stupid, untapped and wasted opportunity, as are so many others...SAD!
• I have played this game since its early development and its been fun and good but as per my above points, it goes nowhere and its lost its appeal simply because it never pushed the envelope and did something with it all.
• Per above CON: Sexual scenes, they don't "feel" good, they feel rehearsed and planned and do not have enough variation, fun, sexiness to it. Scenes basically lack passion and desire, combined with variety, sexual development and curiosity. Not enough angles, details, sexy/kinky talk, which is further compounded through no lewd sounds like moans etc.
• Per above CON, sexual development: The characters don't try new things in new places, they don't evolve or are sexually curious. It also takes long for any characters to get knocked up, they end up getting knocked up at the same time. Spice it up, have one get knocked up earlier, show the bump progress and stages of pregnancy till all the characters are knocked up but are at different stages. Getting larger boobs, lactating etc.

This game has a pretty good and well fleshed out story and main plot, but it stretches that story too far and wide to make me lose interests and eventually just speed through it. The sexual content is also not that good or worth pausing long at it, its boring and vanilla by now and there is just little toward the end that keeps me invested in the game. Pity...

Version 0.21 Extra

Gave Unending Void a skip because it looked like one of the dozens of uninspiring Star Wars parodies out there and only tried it because of some good reviews on Discord. I am pleased to report that this has been a pleasant ride and it's actually a better Sci-fi game compared to the few famous ones with higher ratings.

Story
MC's sister was kidnapped during a training mission and subsequently abandoned by the government. He then decided to take matters into his own hands by deserting and assembling a private rescue crew in search for his sister. What follows is a typical spacefaring adventure melded with grand political conspiracies, prophetical mysteries and of course romances with various ladies.

I particularly appreciate the fast pacing where MC and his crew leap from one adventure to another without too many distractions compared to many Sci-fi AVNs like Projeckt Passion, Oppai Odyssey and Artemis that have a tendency to inject too much romance and slice of life moments into the story thereby diluting the Sci-fi elements.

That ain't the case for Void - while it does have its cool down moments in between, they are not overbearing and keep up with the overall momentum.

Game Mechanic
Largely a kinetic novel with choices that either allow you to enter into a relationship with a particular LI or get her pregnant in the future. Note: As of Chapter 20, no pregnancy content available yet.

Background / Character Renders
Background renders are fairly typical for Daz3D Sci-fi setting and do their job well, but not in a mind-blowingly impressive way.

Character renders are fine as far as Daz3D is concerned and there is wide enough variety including a futanari, alien and shemale in the mix. None of them strike me as particularly memorable so all in I would say it's above average.

MC's Michelangelo hair and Mark Zuckerberg face can be off putting for players who prefer more masculine models. This Silicon Valley nerd design is somewhat at odds with the MC's character who is supposed to be an aggressive devil may care alpha male.

Character Development
MC is consistent throughout the game - brave, brash, don't give a flying fuck about rules and fiercely protective of his harem. The LIs are a mixed bunch - the sisters Eva and Lilly, aunt Nadya, cousin Aven have their own distinction, but the incest theme isn't very well executed. Too abrupt and once they have sex, everything just goes business as usual.

Vess the mysterious girl is ok with a bit of back story; Thiel is quite bland and the romance awkward. The rest like Jade, Ziv and Raene don't have too many opportunities for character development as they are mostly there to satisfy a particular kink.

Sex Scenes
A very mixed bunch. Ironically the sex with LIs are vanilla run of the mill without any excitement and largely forgettable, but the scenes with other ad-hoc characters are wild and kinky. A few memorable ones like the lewd scene at the night club, the orgy at Valorian, villian sisters and mother-daughter priestess are much better done than those with the LIs.

Unfortunately, there are no more such wild scenes starting from Season 2 which tends to focus a lot on the LIs whose scenes are mostly mediocre blow and fuck procedures. I hope this can change in the future.

BGM and Sound Effects
Most of the BGMs are from Scott Buckely and fit the story well, but if you are a frequent AVN player these tracks are likely overused. There are no sound effects which is a shame considering there are quite a number of battle scenes throughout.

Conclusion
I didn't have high expectations as Void looks like a Star Wars fan fiction at first glance, I am thus pleasantly surprised when it shows it actually has a credible main story and a diverse mix of characters beyond MC's crew. The pacing is good and not side tracked by countless side stories and adventures, so there's a good chance of it being completed.

The non-LI sex scenes in Season 1 were exciting and memorable, but turned dull in Season 2 which focused only on the LIs. Hopefully the developer can pick up subsequently, otherwise this will turn into a normal Sci-Fi story with perfunctory occasional sex.

To be honest, I got bored with the story around chapter 6. Up until then, you really don't have an sexy times with the main LIs, except with your green slave. It is just too long of a wait and it really starts to wear thin. The renders are great, dialogue is good, animations are average. -2 stars because most of the lewds in the first bunch of chapters are just one time side hustles.

Now this is a PROPER game!

I have so much fun, nice dialogue, nice models, nice well-written characters, scenes/renders are great and the plot is awesome too especially if you are a sci-fi enthusiast! Thank you!

It's a decent game, whose main strength is the story and the characters, but the porn scenes themselves are pretty weak.

I found the story itself to be very interesting, it builds slowly and it has some great high-pitched moments surrounded by moments of dialogue and sex with your crew.

The characters are interesting and they evolve a lot during the game. Aven is the best girl, Vess and Thyia are the most interesting, while Jade and Celine are the least. Thim was underutilized, hope he gets more content in the future. Not a fan of trans and futa, but they are the least important characters at least and their sex scenes are all skippable.

The choices don't matter, but do matter. You cannot chose the direction of the plot, any choice that would majorly affect the story leads to the exact same conclusion. However, all your choices affect your relationships with your crew members and can lock you out of scenes.

The sex scenes are the weak spot of this game. There are some great ones, but most are kind of lame. Also, in the first few chapters, while you build up your relationships with your waifus, many sex scenes are with side characters and don't matter much.

This is an incest game. Yeah, you can turn it off in settings, but this is still an incest game. 4/10 of the love interests are related to the MC. This game handles the incest relationships much better than others I've played

The game also goes in some very weird places with some pretty disgusting scenes like peeing and breast milk. They are skippable, at least.

Overall, a 7/10 game. Interesting story and characters dragged down by weak sex scenes.

Really wholesome game i can say,
Things i like: Good story, good characters, overall sexiness, loads of fetishes, overall a better quality novel.certainly better than overhyped & overrated ones out there

Things that can be improved: overall depth of some characters, more animations(the ones which are present are good as well) , id really like some more plot twists.
Other than that it was a bit tough for me to rate but here it is

Just started and finished the game so far today and really enjoyed it good story, a lot of likeable characters, good animations though it would be nice to have some animations from a POV instead of just the usual side shots and that fact that you get choices of which hole is always a winner during sex scenes not everyone is as much a fan of the back door as some devs seems to think.

A shiny package of decent renders with a good amount of content and okay writing, it just lacks any kind of soul or sexual energy. I kind of liked the dev's last game but it already had some of the exact same problems, they're just intensified to the extreme here. The game feels cynically designed to be the most palatable to the most people. Lots of different types of women, a bunch of incest, sure, but you better believe you'll be having the exact same type of sex with them for the rest of the game once the chase is over. Which means mostly complete and absolute vanilla, maybe the occasional foot stuff, maybe some anal if you're very lucky, okay, don't get greedy, that's it. Now that I think about it, all that foot fetish and anal stuff was only with Céline wasn't it? The Asian chick. Which automatically makes her the second least boring character after your green punching bag.

All the incest love interests are the worst because I guess the logic is "well, it's already incest, isn't that exciting and taboo enough? who needs more?" ZzzZzz. The only kink the game dangles over your head with these girls is pregnancy and you'll be pleased to know that almost five years into the game's development we are finally getting to a point where some of them are actually expressing an interest in having a baby, after you've squirted gallons of jizz up their holes. I can already see how this will end, exactly like the last one. Pregnancy is used as a constant tease until you knock everybody up five minutes before the game ends and you get like a handful of renders of pregnant girls. See you in the dev's next incest pregnancy milking masterpiece.

Like in his last game the dev gives you one (1) main girl that is there in some kind of fucked up Martyrs fashion to absorb all the unspent aggression you don't get to expend with any of the others. In the last game it was Bella, the sister you got to blackmail and then roped into a semi-consensual D/s relationship, here you literally get gifted an Alien sex slave from day one, so that's nice I guess. Too bad she's a weird looking green girl with a Lesbo hair cut, but oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Also like in his last game, there are a bunch of side chicks that will do way nastier things during sex than your main girls. Unlike the last game though, a lot of this content here is straight up just voyeur stuff for some reason, so you don't even get to do it to them. Have to keep the MC as pure as we can too I guess. Naturally you're playing as a "good guy" (wet blanket) again, always agree with your waifus or they will be mad and there will be drama and no sucky-sucky. Again, except for your literal sex slave (not "ha-ha, we're roleplaying" sex slave.) You're a good guy and a gentleman. But you own a sex slave from a race your people literally conquered and enslaved. Whom you mistreat. O-kay... moving on.

Then there's the black chick who is also pretty boring, two trannies I didn't really want (really, two of the main love interests had to be trannies? two?) and one other blonde pseudo-Loli chick who just seemingly dropped out of the game for some reason. There are 10 main love interests, that's like at least 5 too many! And congratulations, most of them are boring as fuck. Also, yes, I know some of this is hyperbolic, not all the sex scenes are boring, some are decent, some even cross over into being almost hot, it's just that the dev is either unable or unwilling to push that little bit further to bring it over the finish line.

Like, there is that one scene where you fuck Aven up against a wall in a dirty alley (hey, that sounds hot!) but there is like no awareness of the possibilities or of what some players would like to see in that scenario. At some point Aven gets embarrassed because she sees like two hobos in the distance and she's afraid to be seen, but then the scene just continues and nothing happens. Because the MC is contractually not allowed to be anything but a wet noodle, he doesn't do dirty talk or get rough on his sweethearts (that's what the subhuman sex slave is for!) This is a Disney production, you pervert! Fuck this game.

Maybe I'm too degenerate to enjoy vanilla ice cream like this, but I don't think that's it. Like, as I said, the dev does put some degenerate shit in the game, so he clearly wants people like me here, but he does it in such a weird and lame way. Like, yeah, it's nice that you can piss in your sex slave's ass I guess, but like, can't you spread the degeneracy around a bit? Why is everyone else so fucking boring and vanilla, like you don't have to turn your game into Rape and Torture Simulator 5000 but can't there be at least like a little bit of spice, even as an optional thing? No? Okay.

Really immersive sci-fi tale that combines a well-plotted storyline with LI's galore and a harem that takes the time to establish itself instead of just 'happening'. Add to that some intriguing characters (mostly female or facsimiles thereof), mostly competent animations, and an MC who is, refreshingly, all about existential solutions rather than collegiate dumfoolery.
Oh, and having a lot of sex. I do wish I could just make "creampie" a default!

My only quibble is that it appears, in chapter 14 or so, that a few of the LI's have developed some "Big Butts" out of nowhere. Unfortunate. I was enjoying the callipygian variety, and I hope it continues.
I also wished that the antagonists were not so...well, EVIL. The dev has put enough into the relationships among the PROtagonists, it would make for a more interesting game if the Father and henchmen weren't so irredeemably Bad. But, oh well. Doesn't take away from the fact of an excellent AVN. Truly. Well done!
