VN - Ren'Py - Tales from the Unending Void [v0.21 Extra] [Perverteer]

Truly stellar work by Perverteer, Tales From the Unending Void is a fascinating space opera with a beautiful and interesting cast and plenty of hot action. A worthy successor to the legendary Sisterly Lust, it gets updated every two months with a whole new episode, of which I hope many are left!

First I wasnt realy sure but gave it a try and I have to say that this is one of the best games I played as a virtual novel. I like the story and how it unfolds in the SciFi setup chosen. Also characters are very nice and have their own background and story which I like. One thing that is normaly not that best in those novels I played is the music.....here the music is realy a blast and fits perfectly to the story and plot. So my compliments to the work sofar which is extremly good and to be honest from the story and plot some expensive game could learn. Game and choises are not that hard to guess so its a nice one that lets you get really enjoy and stick to the game......if you like some of the kinky stuff its also available. How deep I cannot say as i wasnt into it so I declined those paths (which are also extra highlighted so you know). Hope that gets updated soon.

Picked this up on a recommendation & really enjoyed the game!
Deep story & lore, immersive environment/game universe.
It's obviously a sci-fi setting, with a strong story-driven experience.
No stats & grind to worry about, plenty of beautiful girls, interesting story that keeps you fully immersed/involved.
That's a win for me.
If you're looking for a game with characters you can invest in, a strong story set in a vast galaxy &, of course, gorgeous girls, look no further.

Review for version 0.7

Pros:
- The main story and the writing are very good. They are at top level compared to most other games here. The story is about space exploration in a rescue mission covered with mystery and plots. Of course there is also a lot of sex on the road.
- The renders and sex scenes are nice. Not at top level as the story and writing but nice.

Cons:
- Maybe it is a personal preference but the reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the harem-like style of the game and especially how the dev is implemented the relationships and the connection between the characters inside the story. There are dialogues and some memories from the past where the dev "tries" to cause some emotions and present the special connection between the MC and some characters but personally I'm not feeling it at all. Actually it seems that the relationships and especially the romance/sexual part of the game are separated from the main story and both progress in parallel.

P.S. The story until now is linear and your choices are about how far you will progress with each female character in term of sex scenes. If you are positive with a female character you can have sex with her eventually. You can progress with each female character separately and have sex with all of them without having to choose between them (at least until now). If you are negative with all the female characters the main story will continue normally but without the sex scenes. In other words the main story and the sexual relationships between the characters are two separate things at least for now.

Pros:
Engaging story, beautiful graphics and a wide variety of very interesting scenes. All fantasies and fetishes are filled in this game. The author shows professionalism and an open mind in this matter, without prejudice, which is rare in games of this type.

Cons:
In my opinion, the DPI graphical resolution of the game could be improved and the renderings could have a little more settings for a better final quality. However, it is not critical and I am aware that this is a hardware limit issue and it is not a simple matter.

5 stars deserved by the pros, however, as I am the kind who takes the max final quality as important matter, I will also leave my opinion of the cons to the author.

TL;DR:
Lewd sci-fi with good models and animations. A lot of possible sex scenes. Good atmospheric music, interesting characters. Trans/Futa content (instant + for me). The story pacing is not good. This leads to overall 3.5/5 stars +trans/futa bonus = 4/5 stars.


Review for [v0.7 Extra].

This review is mostly easy for me to write, because most things go under POSITIVE, nothing under NEUTRAL, and just one thing under NEGATIVE, but that one thing is not a small one.


POSITIVE

- The graphics. They are fantastic. Not fantastic as in "top of the line, greatest ever", but fantastic in the sense of a very creative sci-fi setting (see below). They are definitively on the better side, top 10% I'd say. Some room for improvement, yes, but I'll take them any day of the week. That goes for the renders as well as the animations. The loops in the sex scenes are really well done.

- The setting. As a sci-fi fan I'm in love! There are lots of different alien species, fashions, bots, space battles, good guys, bad guys, shady guys, the in-game universe feels mostly alive.

- The characters. A broad variety of characters and MC can choose to pursue many of them so far. Because there are a lot of characters who the MC will team up with, not everyone had time to shine yet, but the dev def tries to give them depth. So far it's fun to unravel their backstories.

- The trans/futa content. In this case the tag is correct, because it has trans (not much yet, but will be more) AND futa (including a sex scene) content, and the trans content is portrayed fairly realistic as far as I can tell, at least on an emotional level.

- The music. Very atmospheric. Never was tempted to mute.


NEUTRAL

NEGATIVE

- The story. Important, only one aspect of the story really pissed me off, take that away and the rest of the story is good. It's no secret, I love good incest games. So you - the MC - have two childhood friends, aka your (patched) sisters. Twins, one year younger than you. Perfect setup for someone like me who likes sibling incest best of all. (SPOILERS ahead

The story begins with the three of you in military training, going on your first real mission which doesn't go well at all. One of your sisters gets kidnapped by lightly clothed muscular women, your space navy doesn't want to go after the baddies, so you desert and steal a ship to go after them and rescue your sister.

As an experienced player of adult games all of these first few minutes scream "URGENT! IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED! You have a few hours to get your sister back, maybe a day, because after that she'll be sexually molested and probably ends up liking it thanks to Sexual Stockholm Syndrome."

Too far fetched? Well... The evening before the mission you can talk to your sisters and the rest of your crewmates. At that point you can get a relationship indicator for exactly two people, and surprise!, it's only one of your sisters, the one who doesn't get kidnapped the next day. So playing an incest adult game where one of your primary sisterly love interests not only has no entry in your ever growing love interest list, but also gets kidnapped after 5 minutes? You bet I was on high alert.

But then... the story proceeds. And proceeds. And proceeds. Hours pass. Days. Weeks. At one point even months. The way the story proceeds is good, you meet new people, you do a lot of things, can have a lot of sex, BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR SISTER? That feeling of urgency is still there. I mean, the dev lets them DESERT to find her, indicating that time is of the essence. Desertion is a death penalty offense, you don't do that if you have all the time in the world to find her.

So yes, the immersion is good. Too good at that point, because my constant feeling of uneasiness was never adressed again by the dev. It was like he said "It's urgent, it's urgent, do something! Do anything! Good, you've done something. Now it's many months later, deal with it, how urgent can it be, really?" Extremely unsatisfactory.

Well, enough ramblings. Anyway, that particulary aspect of the story keeps the game from getting 5/5.



Summary
Despite the one super annoying aspect of the story I had a lot of fun! Good sci-fi setting, good sex, good music. Recommended. 4/5

If you're looking for an actual Visual Novel for adults that is Science Fiction. Look no further. Tales From The Unending Void is everything you could want and more. With interesting characters, excellent writing and pacing. This has it all. I cannot wait for more. I'm on this adventure until the end!

Sci-fi adult VN with straightforward choices about gradually gathering more women for a harem or avoiding them romantically. There's an overall rescue plot with action and adventure, and some minor choices for story events.

There are perhaps too many love interests. They don't all get attention each update, but there's at least a few hot scenes with animations each update. There are also one night stands along the way.

The wait between updates can be a bit long but chapters are decent length and by now there's several chapters.

This game deserves more interest based on the quality. Check it out!

Gotta say I wasn't expecting much when i picked this game up. Maybe some mid quality renders, a couple of sub par animations, and maybe some slap dash plot. I was sorely mistaken on nearly all fronts. Renders while not top of the line are more than adequate and the animations are quite smooth and there are more than one might expect going into this espescially considering the msaller file size. The plot is subjective I think you'll either like it or not depending on your love or lack thereof of Sci Fi tropes. That being said it was clear that at least some thought went into it and it wasn't just put in place to service the porn. My biggest surprise however was the actual amount of content the game offered. I played for the first time with this release and while I didn't read EVERYTHING (I did read 90%) it still took me about 5 hours to get through everything. If the devs can keep up that type of pacing then this game could end up being very impressive in terms of game length. In conclusion this game blew away my expectations and I would reccomend to anyone who likes VN's.

I'm impressed, from his previous works i wouldn't have imagined that perverteer would make an sci-fi, he presents us with an wonderful world-building, great planets, races and even politics.

The characters are great, a lot better compared to sisterly lust, and now we have more "partner options". The CG and overall graphics is something to contemplate.

I would sure recommend, even thought the first/second chapters are a bit forced.

What an excellent game. Nearly flawless sci-fi story, masterclass world-building and plenty of hot "action" and action.

The CG is beautiful, the enviroments varied enough to provide that planet-hopping adventure feeling. Also fantastically done non-binary characters.

This is completely professional quality. Perverteer does not disappoint and has hugely improved upon SL. Can't wait for the finished game.

[Review Version V.06 Extra - Windows]

By accident or by design, the structure of this game actually resembles how Bioware did it with KotOR and ME1/2. Most of the relationship building is advanced by going around the ship (Ebon Hawk, Normandy, Iron Bastard, potaYto, potaHto) talking to members of your crew, while the plot is advanced when you go on "away missions" with a smaller subset of team members. This was, IMO, an excellent choice by Perverteer as it allows a great balance of advancing the key elements - character development, plot, and plenty of lewd scenes with the "natives" - while the relationship with various female members of your crew gradually blossoms.

Good writing, good model designs, interesting plot, good lewd scenes.
Highly Recommended.

Just finished playing all of the content for this fantastic game. The Sci-fi setting is really good and unique. The alien races look awesome and really tie the space theme together. and the story and characters/relationships are really good in this game aswell. And of course, the sex scene renders and animations are awesome and there is a lot of them.

Reviewing 0.6 Extra version

This game has improved a lot since the first couple of chapters, which felt disjointed and a little forced. But the game is now starting to hit it's stride as a sexy space adventure with a sexy crew. It feels like there is a lot of story still to come, which is great, because I want the adventure to continue. BUT...

I know I'm crazy but there is too much side action. I get the Dev is trying to please his horny patreons but it's starting to distract from the story. Especially because the MC has such a large crew to form his space harem with. I feel like many of them are not getting the attention they deserve. (Edit: I know you can skip these side-girl scenes, but that's not the point. I don't want to have to skip content to make the game flow smoothly).

This is a really good game overall, and I would highly recommend it.

[Update for 0.9 Extra] - Lowered rating from 4* to 2*

As I said above, this game started okay, then got pretty good, and now...I just don't care? I like space operas and the crew that was built was interesting, but the dev just can't help adding more and more women and side-fucks, it's distracting. There were whole chapters where entire members of the crew were just not mentioned.

At this point it feels as if the Dev is making up for an inability to create a deep story by adding more shallow elements (random fucks) and more surface-level plot twists so as to not get to deep into any actual story element. I also really do not like the Acarhyn , they are just too stupidly anime with their ridiculous armor and huge weapons. There are many example of militarist societies that don't also cosplay medieval Europe.

Also the MC is a weak douche. I can't stand it when men get all Alpha because some guy is talking to their LI, and the MC goes 100% into that mode every time someone talks to any of the women in his crew. It's off putting. If the women really want you, why are you worried that they are talking with some guy?

Anyway, I think I'm done with this one. Best of luck to the dev and no disrespect towards anyone who likes it.

Fantastic game with authentic sci-fi atmosphere. The plot and the story is very good I got totally engaged. Renders and girls are beautiful. Lewd scenes are hot. I'm looking forward to new updates in the future.

Excellent VN thus far, not too much incest yet, which is a shame, but I’m sure that’ll pick up. The babes are hot, especially the aliens, kinky too. The characters are awesome, and the dialogue is funny much of the time. I would absolutely recommend it, and I can’t wait for the next update. I look forward to many sexy adventures to come.

Very good plot, good animations (the subject of the still image with eyes blinking, it scares me at first), good sense of humor with some reminiscence of Star Wars. With the story about George Lucas and
Twi'lek laughed a lot at me.
And especially the interspecies orgies.
It only needs 2 details to be 5 stars: To be able to eliminate Thim (sorry but, I have taken a grudge) and translate it into Spanish.

As a fan and past supporter of Perveteer I am eager to see how this game matures.
Tales of the Unending Void has earned a permanent spot in my library of visual novels.
I did not encounter any bugs.
This is a very enjoyable and professionally made game.
I hope that some of the same kinks from Sisterly Lust are brought into this game so I can breed all the women! Especially a harem with family fun.
I am giving it a 10/10 as I have no doubt this will be a great game when fully released.
I am looking forward to its continuation, will download each update and fap again XD
