VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Tangled Up [v11] [SerialNumberComics]

I enjoyed the premise, and I thought the sister character & her interactions with MC were cute. The story had its moments for sure, especially later on in the game. I did not pursue the mom route as it didn't interest me so I can't speak to that. I will also say that there are many grammatical and spelling mistakes throughout which can sometimes spoil what would otherwise be decent writing.

However... Sweet Christ on a cracker this game is an absolute grindfest. It basically requires a guide to get you through because there are some events and cues you would easily miss without one that are required to progress - even going so far as to have random events that you must repeat several times. That is insane.

Many of the renders are quite decent, but unfortunately you will be seeing a lot of them as you will have to occupy your in-game time doing the same exact thing on a daily basis in order to progress. According to the guide, you can go several days doing literally the exact same schedule for each one.

I finished the game, taking the pregnancy route. Again, I thought the story and at least the characters of the sister & MC had some merit, as well as Vicky. I was thoroughly confused by what happened with the Mom in the end, though at that point in the game I was tending to skip through some text.

In the end this game gets some points for having an interesting premise and characters I more or less enjoyed with some good render scenes, but loses big points for how needlessly grindy and frustratingly repetitive it is.

I somehow survived this game....

I would love to recommend it because I thought the story was interesting and enjoyable to read through... if not for the absolutely ludicrous amount of repetitive game-play. I have never played something more repetitive then this game. I would never recommend this game to anyone for there sanity despite the story and scenes being good.

Jesus Christ this game just loops the same scenes over and over and over and over and over and over...then moves onto the next scenes that are slightly different and slowly edges to the end. Attempted to finish it but after 5 hours I've lost the will to finish this garbage. Nice renders tho

Graphics are nice, animations are pretty good, the story and characters are good enough but the game has too many repetitive scenes and grinding, should've had an ability to tell you or auto skip the repetitive scenes.

Need some restructure about the day by day, going the same places during too many weeks. But the history, graphics are wonderful, i love the Mom's player :b
Have a lot of potential. I recommended play this without a walkthrough.

The game needs quite a bit of polishing coding wise. Players can find themself lost very easily and having to go through numeorus options, clicking the same buttons hoping that something has changed. There is no indication that your choice will show a different result and clicking the wrong choice means that you have to do the whole day again and change one choice that may or may not change something.

TLDR Very Grindy and Walkthrough is unreliable due to bad coding.

There is an unbearable amount of grind coupled with an extremely slow progression of relationships, which makes for a mind numbing experience. By the time anything happens, its so similar to the previous days that you don't really care anymore.

the grind is too long for so little reward. it's the same scenes over and over again with very little variations. i managed to make it to day 55 before i just had enough. i feel the gap between progressing to the next phase could have been done better.

The negative (grind) far out-ways the positives(nice renders/models) on this game. It may be one of, if not THE most grindy adult game I've ever played and there are some very grindy adult games around. The grind is so weird and so unnecessary. I guess devs do it to make the game seem bigger than it is? I honestly do not understand it. Don't bother playing it. You'll be watching the same scenes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...

Renders and sex scene is awesome. but there are a very big but.
you have to keep and keep click and click and click oh got a lovely scene then again click,click and click endless. that is all. not worth to play that.

wish that was a stroyline with sexscene this would got a boost with 5 stars.

An absolutely horrid grindfest of a game with atrocious and meaningless writing. The only reason I attempted to suffer through it was for seeing Reina knocked up, but I relented and just downloaded a save to see it.

Pros:

I don't recommend this unless writing means nothing to you, and you're willing to put yourself through utterly meaningless "gameplay" just to see some vaguely tittillating preggo porn.

Ok the good things first. The sister character is hands down the best thing about this game, especially before the mother comes into play. She is smart, attractive, and funny and is a great love interest. The relationship that the brother(MC) and sister start having and cultivating before the mother shows up is wonderful. I really did wish that you could have gone through this game exploring this relationship without getting the mother and her cronies involved. The sister is the only reason why I am giving this game two stars.

So now the bad, and there is alot of it. I just gotta say first off the mother is straight up cancer and her cronies (Vicky and Emma) are not much better. That is more a personal gripe than anything. Anyways, the biggest problem with the mother in regards to the story of the brother and sister relationship is that there was no way to keep the sister from getting corrupted by the mother. You literally had to ask for the mother's help with the sister to progress the game, even though you know full well what type of person she is and what her help will entail? If you did not, the player would be stuck in a neverending loop of repeating the same scenes over and over again, almost always with no clear indication of how to break out of it. With all that aside, it just felt like bad storytelling, especially if you were not trying to pursue any other relationships. Also, you could get to the point in that relationship where you see each other naked and even perform oral sex on the sister without asking the mother's help. But the sister was still too shy and needs help to open up from a clear sociopath? It just made no sense to me to even include the mother at all when the MC clearly does not trust or like her and knows she would do more harm than good. I will say it again, it was bad storytelling and writing, which had it's own issues, grammatical and otherwise.

So another major issue is that this game does have that grind where you have to build up points in certain things to progress the game. Normally, I don't mind a little bit of grinding if there was some reward to it. But when you combine alot of grinding and the inability to progress the story because you somehow missed a decision or a scene or a random event or any of the other slew of things, then the neverending loop occurs. And you are sitting there scratching your head, trying to figure out what to do next. I experienced this and finally broke down and used the walkthrough, which still included alot of grinding, because that is part of the game. This was one of the reasons why people were asking for walkthroughs so much in the comments.

Finally, the game still has bugs even though it is labeled as complete. Make sure to save often, because I ended up having to go back through things because I would try to do something as simple as go into the storage room and it would kick me straight the title screen. I would suggest the developer go back and clean up the bugs in this game before continuing on with the sequel.

TLDR: Overall story is not very good, no clear indicators on how to progress the game, alot of unneccesary grinding, high possibility of getting in a neverending loop of repeated actions with no clear way out of it, game breaking bugs still exist in this "completed" game. The best part of the game is the sister character before any corruption from the mother takes place.

One last thing I will say is that it has been mentioned in the comments that the sister's pregnancy is not actually achieved by the brother, but secretly achieved by some random asshole recruited by the mother. All this being done behind the scenes, so the brother is none the wiser and is taking care of a kid not even his own. I have no proof that this is the case, but if it is true, then I (and the ones who pointed this out) feel that falls under the classification of NTR. Therefore, the game should include that as a tag. I say this not only because I am not a fan of NTR, except for extremely rare cases (this not being one of them), but also as a warning sign for those that want to avoid this content. Once again, only if these observations are true. I did not get that indication when I played, but figured I would throw this out there.

This game does so much right, but at the same time really messes up the most important thing, making us enjoy the ride .
The slow burn progression is pretty good, story decent, writing not stellar but definitely above average, the models are pretty hot, the grind though is ridiculous, miss a trigger and you have to go back hours to figure out what you did wrong, otherwise you get stuck in an endless loop with no way of getting out of it aside from sifting through saves .
This can happen even when using a walk through, it is beyond convoluted, I doubt you could actually finish the game 100% without using one of the walk through's... it is so easy to miss said triggers because of the amount of repetition involved, this really ruined the game for me .
I ended up not finishing it because I got stuck in an endless loop, while following the walk through, and I couldn't be bothered to go through yet another hour or so of the same grind to find out (or not) what I did wrong, because yes I did try multiple times and wasted a few hours of my life doing just that...
I think I would rather grate my knob off with a cheese grater than go through something this frustrating again, if it wasn't for this major flaw, I think I may have given this a 4.5 hopefully the dev will remember that sometimes less is more, simpler would definitely be better here .

PROS:
I love the renders in this game. Beautiful
The story is decent.
The writing is good, with proper grammar, etc.


CONS:
The grinding in this game is beyond necessary.
So much grinding ruins the enjoyment and playability of the game.
Even when following the walkthroughs provided, it can be overwhelming.
This has a good storyline, but the execution is terrible.

Bottom line: I can only recommend this to somebody who enjoys masochism.

I hate this game and I love it... you have to do stuff again and again and again.. so fucking loooong!! Nevertheless I wanted to know more and discover more and more and the game began kind of addictive. This is so frustrating and so perfect at the same time.

Grind is not the word. It is Groundhog Day without the witty dialogue and not condensed into 90 minutes.

You do exactly same scenes over and over and after 3 to 6 times it gets extended a little.

Hardly an inspiring MC blows his load seeing first set of tits at 19 SERIOUSLY. And wrapped around maids finger despite how pathetic the scam is.

Slow development is an understatement,

No logical transfer of emotions between locations, can be shut out or had argument in one location and at next location all lovey dovey. Its ridiculous to be tension in one location for a week while batting eyelids at each other everywhere else.

Hated force infidelity and hitting on Chars simply not interested in especially when obvious set up like Mother but can't continue unless you try cheat and again after you made full commitment to sister and played loyal path all way and then after Nap you fall for the same womans trap that helped set you up in Mothers trap.

Is another game overloaded with oversized tits and ases that I find unattractive and every character is a total bitch or asshole.

There really was no need for grind or lack of direction and randomness in flags. There seems to have been more than enough content to just let the story flow and give a little more directional dialogue to help people find way. Very strange to have so much fluff repetition yet so little gae direction.

Is a version 8 walkthrough but no matter how many times people ask for complete walkthrough just old walkthroughs listed they keep saying first on list is bridging walkthrough but first one on list is very early bridging walkthrough when only 20 days in game. I went through entire list and was no help after version 8 (bottom link in entire list and it made every one of lst redundant so not quite sure why he listed all the early version walkthroughs).

Is a little disappointing because the renders are actually nice and even though animations basic they not bad and story would have been ok if it was allowed to flow instead of the repetition.

I finished both routes of the final version of the game.

The first road that of the sister is really interesting and long. much scene very exciting. But the grind is quite long and sometimes annoying because we do not really know what to do. Walktrough it's necessary.

the mother's road is just as exciting but much shorter damage.

The pictures are very beautiful and the animations very good. This game is a must have for me but the grind is terrible.

A thoroughly enjoyable VN, I've not completed all routes as it is quite a long-winded grind, but the visuals more than make up for that.
I did stop playing at some point during development, but I'm so glad I saw the completed tag and came back for a nosy.
I did try to play without a walkthrough, don't. Use a walkthrough and save time and frustration.
Overall, the renders made it a worthwhile evening. I can't give an exact time as I was called away to do family stuff etc, but it's no quickie - bring a drink & snacks!
