For several years I've had the same issue and it continues to bug the hell out of me. Basically, text will seemingly randomly vanish in specific engines, most notably in RPGM engines, but I've also noticed it in a few "Other" engines as well to varying degrees.
I do use a really shitty old laptop. While this 'could' be the issue, I'm honestly not so sure. I used to play RPGM games on this laptop in the past, and even some games that once worked no longer do. Furthermore, I've reinstalled windows once or twice, and that always temporarily solved the issue. So, I suspect it's caused by some sort of setting or something.
Any thoughts? The idea of reinstalling windows again honestly sucks and I'd rather avoid doing so.
