Ok, I might be writing this because I happen to be very very drunk, but I genuinely want to know. Is there a romance in a porn game/book/story that really stayed with you? Something that went a little above and beyond the standard porn schlack and genuinely/sorta/kinda made you feel something?

I think mine is from Three Sister Story, by Jast (1996). Ending the game with the middle sister, the one I liked the most, was actually genunely challanging, at least it was for me since the girl was inexplicably not ok with you bonking both her sisters.

There's Katawa Shoujo if you accept anime-style VNs. Not all routes in this game are of the same quality, but no matter which one you'll choose I think you'll easily get something memorable.

..since i like homeless adoption sims.....
Is "homeless adoption sims" the new way to name the average games where MC goes back to his landlady and roommates ?

This said, while Romance isn't the base of the story, so far The DeLuca Family only present romance for its lewd content.

This game was really good at punishing you for messing around.

Two examples I liked from the same era was Sari and Arisa from Nocturnal Illusion. Sari was the widow of a soldier and just couldn't accept her husband was never going to come back from the front lines so she decided to wait for him. For 60 years. She couldn't accept to grow old because what if he didn't recognize her? So she became some kind of blood-drinking ghost and got stuck in the phantom manor.
Arisa was just a doll who came alive and was so love-starved she became the clingiest little shit imaginable. Nothing super original here but it was in the 90s and I've always had a weakness for dolls who gain sapience.

My favorite romance will remain Saya no Uta however. It's sad, it's twisted, it can't end well no matter what but I still like it.
