The best way to get Supporters/Patreons

Hello everyone, I'm new to this whole AVN development space, and I'm trying to study it, but I've noticed something I don't quite understand.

I've seen some developers that have around 70 paid members on their Patreon within the first hour of their initial release v0.0.1, while others have supporters even before releasing the first version or demo (good for them) but I'm curious.

Is there a method to gain supporters besides publishing your AVN that I'm not aware of?

Method One: Whale baiting.
All you need is to create a really great demo in order to create lots of hype, then make lots of empty promises you know you won't be able to fulfill. Naive and horny whales eat this shit like you wouldn't believe it, you'll have 'em by their dicks in no time.
By doing this you'll probably win some dough short-term, depending on how convincing you are, but it will not last.
Once the whales realize that you're bullshitting them they'll unsub. Your reputation will take damage as well, you may even require rebranding to recover from this, though admittedly this isn't a big deal on this slacker-hobbyist level with non-existent rep.

Method Two: Winning trust.
I recommend going with this, the objective is to create positive reputation for yourself, to win trust.
This is not happening short-term, but if you manage to consistently do a good job and impress people with what you put out, then your name will become known, kind of like a brand name, and people may even start throwing money at you the second they spot your name.
Obviously this takes time, effort, skill, etc. It will not be easy or fast, but this is how you become the next 'Akabur', or the next 'SierraLee', or the next '395games', etc.

Method Three: Creating a Copium Mine.
The objective here is to gain a certain number of subs and then 'milk' their cash forever if possible, with minimal effort required.
For this you'll need to attract the attention of a certain creature commonly referred to as: Copium Addict.
As the name suggests this creature likes to cope, it always chooses to reject reality and believe whatever delusions suit it best.
As such, as long as you feed it copium from your mine (by releasing an update for your game once a year or two, but you can always pretend to be sick or something if you're too lazy to bother) it will continue to supply you with cash and even white knight your thread.
The beauty of this method lies in the ability to maintain multiple copium mines, swimming in cash is no longer a dream!

I wish you luck my young padawan.:coffee:

Well, at this point, you should write a book, like The Prince or something. Thank you for taking the time to write this down. I captured it, and I'll read it once I get home. I can see that you put a lot of effort into it, so I want to give it a proper read. Thank you.
