I gave the game a 5/5 rating, but honestly, for me it’s more like a 3/5 so far. I just don’t think the game deserves a 1-star review either. Sure, it’s got its rough edges and flaws, but based on the previous review and what we can see in this version, it’s clear the dev is listening to player feedback.
What really doesn’t make sense to me are the ‘hunger’ and ‘thirst’ mechanics. They don’t add anything meaningful. They don’t trigger interesting events, and buying items to refill them doesn’t help balance excess money or provide any real challenge.
For comparison, in A Struggle with Sin, there are two parameters: ‘hunger,’ which constantly depletes, and ‘energy,’ which gets consumed when performing actions (at least as far as I remember). When those stats hit certain thresholds, you get debuffs or even become unable to act. The debuffs make combat harder, so you risk losing — and if you do, your companions end up in NTR scenes with enemies.
You could argue that’s still not a big deal, since there’s also a death potion in that game that basically forces a loss anyway. True, but replenishing hunger there is just one click — food gets eaten from your inventory automatically, and you forget the whole mechanic exists. At least energy is tied to the day system, advancing events and unlocking new ones. That way, the player is forced to sleep, which helps progress the story or sometimes sets up erotic situations. In other words, it actually has a purpose.
Here, hunger and thirst feel like they only exist to say: “Look, food gives buffs. Combat is deeper.” But in practice, it just means digging into your inventory every time to see what food you’ve got. Maybe on hard difficulty it matters more, but on normal it really makes no difference.
The H-scenes are good overall, but sometimes they drag on too long because they’re just one long video file. There’s only a full skip option, so you either watch it all or skip it completely. Sometimes it’s easier to just check out the start and the end. I think it would be way better if each scene was split into smaller clips, with a button to switch camera angles and a separate button to end the scene whenever the player’s ready. That way, you’d save time and still enjoy the content. Plus, if the dev wanted, that setup could even allow for extra dialogue between camera changes, which could make the erotic scenes more dynamic.
Overall, even though I gave it a 5/5, my real impression is closer to a 3/5. The game has potential, but right now it just gets tiring.
