VN - Ren'Py - The Builder [S2 R1] [VanillaRock]

I'm giving 4.25 stars as someone with an impregnation/lactation kink. Take off maybe 1 star if that's not your thing.

The writing and animations are nice, but nothing amazing. Lots of short loops. There's a variety of LIs that have some character depth to them. Some characters seem to make bizarre choices, in how easily they can go from loving to hating the MC, or vice versa.

The stats system, and the likely consequences of choices, are reasonably intuitive.

This game is probably one of the more abhorrent excuses for an AVN I've played.

Since the woman who was cheating on her husband with him didn't choose him, the game's MC made a vow of celibacy. He gets chosen to head up a project in some Scandinavian village, which, without him knowing, has a fertility issue.

This setup has some promise, but the structure of the game completely contradicts it. You don't have a real choice to be celibate or not; even if you avoid select encounters, the game will still consider them as having happened.
The game also presents several false choices, where if you pick the 'wrong' one, the MC or narrative will contradict the player and do whatever the fuck they want anyway.

To make matters worse, while the game assumes you've fucked every LI you're presented with, you don't get any of the associated points. It keeps track of the MC's Karma, Perv, and Confidence. But lacking a certain perv score later prevents you from getting with the women who do pique your interest.

Aside from the issue with structure, the game's writing isn't anything special either. The only way you'll have a good time is when you're interested in every LI this game has to offer and are only playing for the lewds.

The only redeeming factor this game has is that its environments look good.

Not the easiest review I have done in this site. There is something in this game that talks to me.
First of the premises: For an adult game, it serves its purpose, although it is kinda absurd. But working, I can digest it.
Then, the dialogues: one of the best, crisp and on point I have encountered on such a game. Yeah, the MC usually responds like a beta, and he is dragged around but this is kinda avoidable (if you are ok to miss stuff).
The LIs: Finally a game where not everyone is a bimbo and a supermodel. Plus the pregnant kink, it's one of a kind.
In terms of visuals, I d rate it above average, especially in terms of lighting and scenery.
Finally, the hot scenes. For once, the scenes are among the best, nicely built up (the trio with the preggos and the aftercare is super hot).
All in all, this game has a lot to offer, and it has a nice vibe and atmosphere going on.

The game has a decent premise. Fairly unique idea and an unusual way of proposing the story.

The art is good. Most of the characters are decent looking, some are quite attractive. There is a great deal of variety between the various LIs instead of a bunch of cookie cutter waifus.

The writing is good, no typos, proper use of syntax and grammar. Not to much reading but not to little either. Just enough to get the point across.

My one real issue with the game is, the MC. He is an uber pansy. He is so infatuated with his ex that he constantly tries to ignore a plethora of willing and often horny puntang. I could understand if he was trying to stay faithful to someone, a spouse or fiance, but his ex dumped him for another dude, got pregnant and constantly rubs the whole thing in his face. And he happily puts up with it, trying to get her to come back to him. When the ex tracks him down and "graciously" allows him to fuck her, AND HE GOES FOR IT, that's when I had to quit and delete this nonsense.

If you like games where your MC gets abused and degraded, try it. if not, move along.

Others have written quite a bit about story and writing so I'll stick mostly to visuals.

If you've ever wanted to go to Norway to be with Norwegian women, this VN might not be for you. On the other hand, if you've ever wanted to go to Norway to be with women from Africa, India, Ireland, the Mediterranean, East Asia, etc., this might be for you. Not sure if the dev fantasizes about leaving Norway someday or if he's just big on virtue signaling.

Also, if you like adorable women (cute, sweet, etc.) this might not be for you, but if you're into stately and absurdly bitchy women (as well as the occasional fatty or elderly woman), this might be for you.

If you've ever wanted to be a metrosexual male with perinneal 5 o'clock shadow who spends way too much time and money making sure his hair is always super messy in the most precise manner possible, this might be for you.

Perhaps the best thing about this VN is the refreshing diversity in breasts and nipples in terms of size, shape, color, though some are certainly oversized. The scenery is also a plus.

As with most content on this site, it would be nice if the dev realized you can make text readable without a big, black text box blocking the view.

For me, there is nothing better than a harem impregnation novel, yet I find this quite disappointing. I'm just not really into MC or the women or much else here. Still, it may suit your tastes more than it suited mine.

This reminds me of those Scandi dramas you sometimes find on tv with subtitles that critics rave about as 'must watch tv'. You think you know what's going on but at the end of each episode you aren't really sure and you're just left confused and thinking may be I missed something because of the subtitles and not understanding the language. Its the same here with this VN. Basically it all feels really odd. The place it's set, the people, what's going on with them and their way of life. It's all very different to any other VN.

There's some good looking LI's and some really awful ones. There's not a lot of story and nothing has really happened yet. We are in the second season and the only thing I think is going is that we are supposed to build something in a village in the north but I found that out in season 1, episode 1 and I'm still not sure what we are building. I know that the choices don't seem to matter and that we have built jack shit so far. Well to be fair, we dug a hole and put up some shelves. Other than that there's lots of women who want to get pregnant by us, some sort of curse going on, protesters are trying to stop the build and some weirdo fucks his homemade sex robot! Yeah, its really odd, yet I keep reading it each update and I'm not sure why... but then I've seen a lot of those Scandi drama's... I can't remember the names of any of them, they were all strange and confusing too...

I started playing this game when it first got release. Over time I was hoping the dev would set a good pace to the game but, update after update it was just not there. My favorite fetish is pregnancy, which is what obviously brought me to the game but as each update comes out, there is no actual story that keeps the players coming back for more. I feel like those players that do are just hoping for some sort of miracle at this point.


This would've been a one star review but I'm giving the game two stars because the dev has actually not abandoned this game (yet).

All in all, there is no actual story to immerse yourself in, there is no actual options as each choice basically ends up getting you on the same route. You play as some weird MC that has become celibate all because "the love of his life" is in the arms of another man. I Don't Know, the game just didn't live up to my personal expectations.

Bad pacing, annoying characters, no actual options, sloppy animations, a bad story that makes no sense and makes you regret wasting your time i have nothing positive to say about the game other than the pregnant girl being interesting

I purchased the Season 2 Pass as well to complete the story

SEASON 2 REVIEW:
Fantastic Artwork, Beautiful Models and Extremely Well-Done Animation and Posing by all of the Characters of this Slice-of-Life Erotica.

The Story is easily 10 hours when you included the upcoming Episode 10 Finale that will be release to complete the Season.

This is a fantastic vn and very well written the girls are very realistic and even though situations may not be realistic it is being made with a very clear fantasy in mind. I only give ratings this high when I'm impressed with the work being put into it.

So, go to a place where I am the only fertile male in a sea of sexy ladies. Insta download. Renders are great. There are some preggos to love and some rivals to cuck, all aboard! Too bad the wheels fall off due to some janky animations and an uninteresting story. Gotta have one or the other to keep me from deleting. 3 stars for a good story premise, nice renders, and cucking my kinda girlfriend's current boyfriend.

Impregnation is one of my main fetishes. I really wish i could give this 5 stars. At the end of S1, it would have made it to 4 stars. The renders were pretty good, the scene scenario's were creative, and the plot, while of course suffering from porn logic wasn't bad.

However S2 ruined a lot of what was good about S1. The visuals of the scenes went downhill. One of the new women, Kiki/Barbie, strait up looks like a sleep paralyses demon.....

The plot seems to have lost its last remaining brain cells. Choices made in S1 are not transferable to S2, while the point system is becomming more important.

While some of the scene scenario's are still good, there are also some that just end in disappointed (even if you play the good guy, it ends with "what did you do, i didn't want this!".....).

What might have been the most disappointing of all though was the scene with the protesters. Where previously lovely dovely Pam and her sister get chararcter assasinated and strait up turn against you.

I can't go lower than 3 stars because i still love the concept, but i have low hopes for what is to come. If you also have an impregnation fetish, go try the game. If else, you might be better of looking for another game.


PS: apparently this game has been in development for more than 4 years now. The game is called "The Builder". And yet after all these years, MC has't build a single thing!

DEVS: DO NOT OFFER CHOICES IF YOU DON’T RESPECT THEM AFTER

I’m so tired of saying the same thing to so many developers who think they are doing a Visual Novel just because they offer false choices. The Builder is no exception, You can try to avoid any interaction with X or Y because you don’t like her, but the next day X or Y will still talk to you as if you had an interaction together the day before. The MC is treated like shit anyway, and again you have no choice, you can’t man him up, he is just a baby-maker, a bull as they say.

More than 3 years of development and this game has still not improved despite receiving the same complaints over and over. Too bad, renders are good, some girls are very pretty, but the lack of meaningful choices kills the fun. This game clearly needs a total rework from someone who knows how to code so that the renders are not totally wasted.

That statement alone finally just made me click out of the game in a huff and delete it.
It was unfortunate, too, because there were a few relationships that were proving to be interesting and, at some points, actually very erotic.
But that damn "point" system that seemed to spring up in "Season 2" did absolutely nothing for me except turn me off of the game.
VERY unwise idea to have a point system that not only angers a player who, for a variety of reasons, may not WANT to, say, fuck a fat and ugly woman with bad skin and broken teeth -- but if you DON'T, oops, you're not building up your "perv" score! Which might actually be something worth enjoying later on -- but apparently you have to pay for it by dipping mc's wick in stink. The dev likes fucking with players, and eventually I cried uncle, and pulled the plug. I wish Lewd Robotics liked us more...

1) choices: Choices don't matter (hidden kinetic tag), only choice if you have enough conf, karma, and perv points for scenes. In Season 2, if you make a choice and 4-5 minutes later, if you made the wrong choice, the game takes you back and lets you redo it, but you have chosen another path.

2) STORY: Season 1 was okay but short. You pretty much need some kind of builder to go to the location where guys aren't fertile and pregnant all women and build the memorial center. You meet crazy women who want to have sex or argue with you. Carla, if she ignored your call, but later on she called you and said, " I've been thinking about our conversation last night. (wtf I ignore you at the airport and call), Carla loves you but doesn't love you at all, just uses you and moves on because during a scene WITH HER AND GIRL meets up and the last frame tells holding each other and about to kiss, she is a lesbian and has a secret lover with a girl, and she uses MC for dick.

Season 2 story: so far, it's way worse. Zero choices again don't matter for the start of Season 2. In the beginning, Carla comes, they have sex, and at breakfast, she gives BJ but spits in the tube without Mc knowing. Clearly, she is trying to impregnate the girl she is with. After that scene, she met on the boat, and she says she doesn't want to be in a relationship with you and forget about her, but don't worry, she will return, probably have sex again with MC, or bring her lesbian friend with her and will manipulate MC again.

There should be a "kinetic" tag. There are some meaningless choices in the 1st season and it goest straightforward in 2nd, the only difference is if you get some points or not. You cant evade some unattractive characters, MC is treated like shit and you cant influence him in any way.

I regret wasting my time on this one.

I have played The Builder [S2 Ep. 9.2] at the time of this review.

I liked the graphics and sex scenes in this game.

The story of this game is good for porn specifically targeting the breeding kink. I am curious about how the story will progress in the coming updates.

Although this game has choices, it doesn't really affect the story until now. The choices only seem to affect some dialogues or exclude some fetishes. So if you view this as a linear story, it is above average but if you are expecting a VN with multiple endings you will be disappointed.

While the writing is not necessarily consistently well done between all characters, it seems not too bad for a game of this genre. Also a variety of characters. Scenes and renders are nice. I appreciate that there is some semblance of a plot / narrative, and the option to reject(?) some characters coming onto the MC is good, to me.

Amazing renders, incredible story. Definitely one of the best to do it out there in the world <3 I do believe that there aren't that many games out there which has better graphics than this one, and the writing is exceptional as well. If you are interested in this genre, you are not going to be able to stop playing it until it is fully over. Made me want to start my own project, it is incredible.
