HURRAY!!!This game is not abandoned. Checked his patreon, he took a break and is now back as of Nov 15. Good news cause I love this game!
Supporting a creator on Patreon is charity. That's all it is. Someone's making a thing you enjoy, so you give them money in return for neither partial ownership of the project, a cut of any eventual profits, or any obligation. That's tossing money into a busker's hat.I dont like that attitude as it contradicts the common sense: You pay money with the mindset that it will be used in a certain way. What you expect on patreon is a developer working on the game. Yes there are people that dont have that expectation, but the majority surely does. So taking money from patreon while you are not working on the game feels like theft no matter what bullshit patreon writes into there tos.
Your perspective is of course valid aswell. But what you describe is general charity and you would be an idiot to use patreon for that as they take a huge ammount from it. Another problem with it is that you are fine with other people being scammed. And no, the argument "they can cancel there payments anytime" isnt valid for aslong as the developer isnt transparent with wether he is actively working on the game or not.
So to summarize it: a paused patreon isnt a lose-lose situation. It is a lose-win situation. The devs loses money and the patreons win money to spent on other things. To call it a loss because less income for the developer will maybe lessen the motivation to work on the game again is pure bullshit, as the developer didnt have this motivation while he still had a higher income due to a much higher supporter base. It is also not a loss because it is a sign that people reward active developers and that will lead to more games being made. It does harm developers in general if limited money on the market is spent for games not being made.
Actually it does mean something it tells us that the dev has not been communicating on this site or any of their own sites to keep us informed if they are working on their VN or not which more then likely means they are not.The "Abandoned" tag on this site doesn't mean anything and it's just a system moderators of this site implements as the game uploading rules (see section 3 Prefixes).
Also, this was the dev's latest Patreon post;

For me, I still think it's definitely worth playing but in the end, it's up to you whether you decide to try it or not.
He took a break 2 years ago and never came back. This game is not abandoned. Checked his patreon, he took a break and is now back as of Nov 15. Good news cause I love this game!
Don't try to explain anything to these lunatics. Even if Dev will release a video, where he straightly says that he abandoned the game and just continued to milk/scum gullible losers for easy cash, they still will live in their childish little world of delusions, denying reality as hard as they can, building theories, looking for hidden message etc.He took a break 2 years ago and never came back.
Its not even allowed to be a free game anymore considering it on steam or am i wrong?Q. Is the game free?
A. Yes. First, it goes through the tier list and thereafter it is free for the public.
Yeah well, i love this avn but i have lost any hope that this will be finished. Granted i only sub in update months anyway but this wont get any support from me anymore until he maybe releases 2 or 3 good updates in a row with good development speed.Q. How long does an update take?
A. Sadly, it is an impossible thing to give an estimation on. This is my hobby and real life can tend to take priority when needed. Under 3-4 months is what would be realistic. 3 is the goal.
But I have had updates taken a lot more. That I want to improve, but alas, it can tend to happen. Hopefully in the future I am in a comfortable enough spot to go full time on this project! But for now- there is no guarantee for monthly or even bi-monthly releases.
The Steam curse isn't just a fable born of a late night smoke session with the boy's.sadly alot of games that go to steam seem to die here
A lot of these games get leaked by the devs to get a loyal fanbase before moving to Steam. But unfortunately Steam has some stringent rules on developers posting their work on piracy sites. So unless someone is willing to share a copy, the devs aren't legally allowed to post updated versions.sadly alot of games that go to steam seem to die here
Because it isn't updated for the latest version, look at the version numbers.....why didn't use the cheat mod it error
When doing the needful what's your favorite shitting street?why didn't use the cheat mod it error
Welcome back. It has been to long for the update and your last appearance. Coincidence? YepIt's been circa 2 years since the last meaningful update.
Wait for another couple of years, might have something by then - or probably not, but here'swishful thinkinghoping.![]()
Not dead. But the tag won't go away until there is an update. Disappointed Hopes hasn't shown up here in a long time, but with the state of the game don't think we will see him until after the update either. Of course no one knows when that will be so more of a coma than death.Another one bites the dust. What a shame...
