You are correct sir. Except you forgot it’s 18 months with no update to get an abandoned tag no matter how often you communicate. The way games are being developed anymore I expect we will see more of the 18 months abandoned tags. Personally I think it should only be a year but I don’t make the rules.

Nop, if it has the on hold prefix. Then it is 6 months, strange but true.
So, if you're a lazy dev, don't ask for on hold, just post all two month a post with something game relevant and something saying your still working on and you can have your 1.5 year update cycle without the "bad" abadonded prefix at all.
If you ask for on hold, you need to deliever 6 month later.

To each their own, but Hopes is at best, an OKAY writer and a I've average world builder. His dialogue is so clunky and forced it's PAINFUL to read.

I think the dialogues are the best thing in this game

at this point i wonder if Hopes is writing about the game or about the "excuse" for the delay, that´s gonna be a tale for the ages.
someone should make a pool about it, what´s gonna be Hopes excuse, dad´s death, mom´s death, car accident, got married, rare disease ("i was fighting cancer" will make people sob) "truck- kun send him to an issekai journey and he spend 2 years in another world"... oh the posibilities

I'm not impressed with the length of time it's taken, but as a pirate who gets the game for free, complaining about it is not in my remit.
If it bothers me too much, I'll remove the game from my watch list & play one of the 1,000+ others, instead of complaining as if I'm entitled to an update.

Also, given that him getting married already happened, not too long ago, the chance of it being "in the pool" seems pretty low.

Again, you are totally correct, no viable objection possible - in all points you have mentioned. But you have to admit that the core of his argument is valid. And that is also nothing that can be objected.

u will have to explain that to me, cause i was only making fun of the situation, there is not a single line there of me complaining, stating that this game is delayed, is a fact not a complain, complaining will imply that i find it wrong or bad or irresponsable, im only making fun of the ridiculous state of this project and the dick riding troop that keeps o... oh wait, that would be u, no? sorry.

It is 100% valid to complain on a pirate site about the thing you pirate. gatekeeping the validity of complaints based on how much money they spent is strange. personally I do support games I find on here if they are good and the devs are active. Reading complaints is one way I can find out how active a dev is. I supported this game on launch but dropped it because the dev had too big of delays am I no longer able to complain just because I no longer support the game?

You justifiably dropped support because of your own subjective negative experience, not because you read some entitled whingers complaining on a pirate site.

Any complaint you had was dealt with appropriately by you dropping your support.

Nop, it isn't. Right from the OP of the thread, the latest version that we have is from 28th February 2024. Thus, the abandoned prefix wasn't because of the 18 month without an update, but because of the 3 month radio silence from the dev.

Wasn't the Feb release just the Steam release? I don't remember that having any new content, apart from the codex.
Last new content I remember was 0.9.6.

Well, yeah. But as Droid said, the Tag rules doesn't just use the 18 months or over as pre-requisite to stick that Prefix.



Mods basically stuck that Tag in November due to Hopes' more than 3 months inactivity (whether Patreon, Discord, here etc).
August was last Hopes was seen posting (before the Abandoned tag), so tag wasn't based on when the update/Steam release came out.

As someone who paid for it on Steam, I have a bit more ability to complain. But I read her Discord. She just got married and had some health issues that caused her to take a while off. I can think of at least one more Dev who has health issues that causes him to not be able to update like he did in the beginning. But I, unlike you apparently, understand that there are real health issues. Not excuses. She says shes getting back to work on it now. So maybe in a few months or so there might be the start of the new season.
