VN - Ren'Py - The East Block [v0.8.3] [Bobbyboy Productions]

The story as of 0.8 is running out of creativity and steam. Things are going downhill. I feel 0.6 was the high of the game and since then, the story is kinda random, the behaviour of the characters started to be inconsistent. It's worth playing however if you are a fan of ntr.

The game is decent. However, in late chapters (v0.8.2) the writing has kind of gone to shit. I like NTR stories especially the ones involving cheating, In fact, I prefer it over NTS. But, sadly here it's poorly done. Also, It's like the dev doesn't know what to do with his game, Is it a slice of life story, mistery, a comedy, or a drama???? Like he wants to do everything... but without a clear focus.
About the characters: The MC is just too stupid and inconsistent. At times, he's a pussy and other times he's dominant ...what??, I just don't get him. By the way, that storyline with his father was complete bullshit and made no sense (way too many convenient events). The girls were fine, maybe the wife was a bit inconsistent as well.
About the AI Animations, most of them were unnecessary, sometimes characters didn't look like themselves, but that didn't bother me much to be honest.
Overall I'd give it a 7/10. Despite its issues it does entertain and some scenes were hot.

I downloaded this game when it first game out, but was put off by the poor animations. It was a matter of either improve animations or omit animations. The dev responded that he was learning at the time. That’s fair, and I said I’d keep at eye on the game for the future. After update 8 dropped I decided to revisit The East Block.

I was pleasantly impressed with the arc of the Dev. His skills certainly improved over time which you want to see. The FMC is very pretty as are all the other females in the game. No excessive boobage and ridiculous ass sizes. There is a story or rather a bit of a mystery that slowly unfolds. Apparently an addictive drug that, among other things, makes people more randy and susceptible to sexual urges.

Of course, there’s a bit of porn logic, but nothing over the top. The genre is NTS/NTR. It depends on your choices and paths. I understand there is a loyal route…but, honestly where is the fun in that? You may note in the forum that some seem to have lost their minds because update 8 introduced NTR and by that I mean cheating. Honestly, if you played the corruption non-love route you saw this coming a mile away. Regardless, the anti-NTR police lost their fucking minds. Really, it is avoidable and the NTS route is actually cuck in the modern sense as the Male MC gets off seeing the FMC get sexual with others. So, I really don’t get the outrage., but I digest…

In the last update the Dev employed AI. Obviously, he is still mastering it so there a few hiccups, but nothing earth shattering. Once again, some have lost their shit over it. When used properly it really does enhance the scenes. It’s the way of the future in these games and I suggest everyone make
peace with it. Anyhow, props to the Dev for utilizing new tech. Like his progress with animations, I’m sure he will improve his skill in using AI.

So, overall a quality VN. It veers hard into NTS (cuck-sharing) and now NTR (cheating - remorseful cheating.) If those genres appeal to you, this is your jam. The females are really well done along with the posing, rendering technical aspects. Give it a try and ignore the forum chatter.

This game lost all its appeal to me, turning into a tedious slog. Every single element feel painfully contrived and shoved down our throat, like the dev was desperately trying to manufacture drama without any genuine buildup. It's all over the place. The restaurant scene was especially a pic in nonsensical drama. The kind you can find on any slop NTR game, where the female character is as dumb as a toe.

And I won't talk too much about the AI. Frankly, I have no issue when it's used for sex scenes to speeds things up and actually makes the sex feel way more natural and fluid.

But the way the dev used it is… It's either an Uncanny valley horror show or a pure cringe “dance” where characters move their lips like in a cheap anime.

What a shame. Because this game was supposed to be the “king” of optional NTR/NTS games. It was well written, a little fun, and had build up.

0.8.2 Review

The dev, sadly, has stopped giving a fuck. This game is now riddled with frankly horrible AI animations where the characters don't even look like themselves.
The plot has also pivoted into hard NTR territory with stuff happening behind the main character's back.
This was the last time I tried it, won't give a time of day for another cashgrabbing dev.

Review based on v0.8.2:

Such a wild and hot game, but not wild in a crazy way. Art is top notch FMC is just one of the hottest characters I've ever seen in one of these games, MC is not a loser but can look like one going down the hard sharing route. Story is also interesting with some twists and turns here and there, H scenes are plenty and hot stuff. Maybe not to much with the FMC but I think we are getting there with how this latest update pushed her forward. All in all a great game that has one of the sexiest female casts that I know of.

This game was once one of the best works of its kind in my heart - with a solid plot, delicate character development, and a stunning art style that made me look forward to updates and releases. I followed the updates almost every day, hoping to experience new content.

But after truly getting started, all the previous expectations turned into disappointment, and the entire gameplay was left with only "discomfort": the originally delicate and dynamic female protagonist's face became stiff and distorted in the AI animation, and the sense of detail was completely lost. The beauty of the past was completely destroyed;Compared to the previous version (without AI added), the image has plummeted The game has completely changed From the best to the worst Is it developers trying to be lazy?

What is even more unacceptable is that a large number of cutscenes are forcibly embedded with AI content, without any skipping options. Even if the characters' actions are stuttering or their expressions are strange, they can only be forced to watch patiently, completely losing their autonomy in playing.

I sincerely hope that developers can listen to players' voices and add an option to disable artificial intelligence animations as soon as possible. Don't let a game that could have become a classic be ruined by the hasty application of technology.

I feel as if this one just gets better and better! It has everything that i enjoy and more. Well done! The progression feels solid, you long for more, and you don't get the feeling that "well now ive seen everything, there is no more taboos to cross" like you might get with some other games.

I just finished the update and I loved it. I specially like that now not just Luke doing all the decisions and so Kat also develops an own Character and not just a following dull bimbo.

The images are well crafted and full of details. The rooms are filled, small details like Star Wars image hanging on the wall in the background and so on.

The reason for just 4 stars are that I still think that specially Kat is often acting like no one would. So she sometimes feels not like human.
And the AI animations are horrible. There are tons of Ai animations but just less than a handful is okay.
Also here and there are a few story things that in my opinion could be thrown out.

Conclusion:
A very good game that get's better over time. But please give us the opportunity to turn of the AI animations.

One of the best games on the site, cool graphics and creative story. It doesn't fall into the repetitive stereotype of other games because it uses the "ugly-man" and the "old-man". I hope it continues like this despite the last scene. The theme of "Open Marriage" or "open dating" in NTR is well addressed.

I hope the creator doesn't forget the initial characters and start putting square-jawed musclemen as co-protagonists.

Good renders and models, mediocre animations. A mediocre plot that misleads the player.
Why is there even talk of an open relationship here if this is just cuckold play? The husband tries to throw his wife under every man, but it doesn’t work the other way. Furthermore, flirting with another woman is considered cheating for the husband, while similar actions earn the wife points for sharing or confidence. There's no open relationship here, just another cuckold game disguised as a search for deeper meaning in the relationship.

Review of v0.7.2

Luke and Kat are a couple that have just moved to New York. Luke has a fetish for seeing his GF Kat with other guys.
The only choices available in this game, either you choose to allow Kat to act like a slut under Luke's guidance or she does nothing. So it is a kinetic VN for all intents and purposes. This is another game where every guy is a creep and rapist out to molest the FMC. So in theory I should love this game lol.

The women models are good but not great. Kat is good looking, as is her sister Rebecca (but they look nothing alike!). Luke's redhead co-worker Claire has had a makeover thankfully, which makes her go from ugly to sexy. The rest of the women are extremely poor. Although there isn't many anyway.

The renders are also good but not great. Although some scenes are filled with extra details, others are not. Details in faces are well done but bodies are poor... breasts, nipples, dicks etc. are all the same. Probably the standard Daz figure. Animations are only very quick two step actions. Overall its fine but feels very amateur.

The writing is also quite amateur hour, with some truly bizarre things occuring. Going against what human logic would do. There is no story or any purpose for the characters. Kat and Luke are the two MCs, that you make decisions for.
Luke's boss is the super villain who somehow has everyone on his payroll, even though he's only shown as being the owner of a small office based company.
It's basically just random encounters of how Kat can act slutty with whatever men she comes across. Warning - She is a complete brain dead bimbo for all these interactions! Now there's plenty of these scenes which are fun and sexy. The problem is there is no setups, no motivations or meaning for them to happen. Kats scenes are mainly in public and mainly with old men - people will either hate that or love it. They are short and end abruptly all the time, which is a shame as they are hot scenes for the majority of the time. This game loves to milk the tease scenes. Although there kind of has been sex, I wouldn't really call it that, as its not exactly a full scene or even complete. Really only BJs and Handjobs, unless you count Luke fucking Kat. A couple of side characters can have sex with Luke. The whole point is to see Kat fucking other guys and we haven't really seen that in 2 years of development and not many updates left until the game is finished!

We don't know anything about the main characters, other than their sexual fetish. No idea what they do for work, what they do in their spare time, fav food or fav sports, likes, dislikes or even their personalities of what kind of person they are. Nothing has been shown in 2 years, that is poor writing ! The dialog between the pair is over the top with some really poor efforts at trying to have emotional scenes. Regular dialog between characters is fine but told in a very simple way.

If you're after a quick fap this should be the game to do it to but the problem is this game has milked the no sex thing for so long that it doesn't even have that - Only brief tease scenes. Because the game has no real story with average writing, that means slow burn players with a want for better storytelling will also feel cheated. We have the worst of both worlds here. The game is stuck in limbo as the dev has denied sex scenes as patreon support built up, so he could milk it for all it's worth. While also trying to make it a slow burn but doesn't have the writing talent to pull it off.

The final point is the poor development cycle. It went from a consistent 2 months release schedule. To 3 months, 4 months, The last being 6 months. With this current update likely being over 6 months. Dev keeps on making excuses but doesn't take any responsibility. While also making the same excuses for delays which he promised would never happen again. Very sad the way this game and the dev have fallen away after an exciting start.

I don't know why people give this 5 stars when it's really just another boring game for a quick fap with no story or relationship development. Some of the dialogue and choices are disgusting and feel like they were written by a horny teenager.

It's a typical story about a couple of swingers with one girl and a bunch of guys who want to sleep with her, and this has happened many times before. If you're expecting a good story and relationship development, this isn't for you, but if you're looking for a quick fap game, maybe give it a try.

I plan to Talk about the lack of representation in the game. I hope this situation changes in the future, but it's one of those games where you're limited to the author's narrative. The female character treats the main character disrespectfully, and the protagonist seems to agree with her, perhaps because the author directed him that way. As a player, you're confined to this point of view; you can't disagree with the character. In fact, regardless of the situation, you can't have any opinion because you're restricted to how the author wants the protagonist to think. Besides that, the game seems promising.

very rarely have i conjured up the term 'low brow' during my half century of years on this planet, especially when i can think of many other ways to describe something that invokes images of a steaming pile.
And yet, low brow was my first impression so we will go with it

the imagery is really not my thing. hourglass figures that look a little too pinched and none of the females look particularly 'fantasy' enough to hook me in.
this is coupled with a script fresh out of a porn channel. certainly i found no signs that the writer has even read a single erotic novel....a comic is probably the closest thing. i can forgive shit translations as there are always signs that the depth is lost in translation. reading this was just a mental flossing.

on the plus side, the dev can code....that's something...right?

AMAZING NTR GAME

The story describes a couple who moves to a new city, into a rather strange neighborhood with strange neighbors and things that happen in an attic.
The game allows you several paths, from pursuing your strangest fetishes and turning your wife into a whore, even though she truly loves you and does everything for you.

To avoiding all NTR/NTS and simply being happy with her, even though there are always men lurking around.

Very good game!

The woman look fantastic (10/10), the story is interesting, it has choices with some actual effect in the game (big + for me). The animations are not ideal, but I hope the creator can learn and improve, I think, it's mainly a skill issue, I assume due to the lack of experience.

I can really see some very promising qualities of the developer. Looking forward for the next releases and recommending it hands down!

This one is decent, but not great. There is some potential, I particularly liked the mystery it carried a bit at the beginning, but as answers are starting to form, I'm finding myself less interested each time. Characters are a bit all over the place, some are more interesting than others, but quite often they have very strong mood swings and inconsistencies, just in the last chapter for example the FMC went through a traumatic experience just to have the next scene on the beach be perfectly fine. Not how human psyche works. Choices do seem to matter, with several possible paths, but we'll see in some more advance if it goes beyond simply choosing which character's routes to follow or not to.

Render quality is pretty decent and character models are quite different and nice. Animations are a bit basic and rough but are getting better. And I played without the music so can't say anything about it, and outside it there seemed to be no sounds that I can recall. Also, I found no bugs while playing.

So, so far, I'm considering this one a bit in the middle ground.

Starts off slow and steady with some light Exhibitionism and some teasing of the player. We think we're going to get some action, then something interrupts it and stalls it out. But not to worry, it's only building the anticipation. Unlike a lot of other games, this one actually has some excellent payoff.

It has the absolute, number 1, greatest gloryhole scene I've ever seen in a porn game, NTR/NTS or not. It's going to be difficult to top that scene, but I have faith in this one.

The cumshots aren't one-shot freeze frames with terrible renders of the cum, either. There's no dribble ending with a tiny bit of white liquid on the FMC that could be sweat for all we know. It has rapid-fire, multiple shots during animation, and her mouth actually fills up with the cum as it happens. Not the best cum renders I've seen, but it's up there (top 3 at least, imo), especially with how the animations are handled.

If they manage to exceed expectations as relative to that scene as much as that scene did for this update (if that makes sense, it does in my head), then I would give this game a 6/5 stars if I could.

The other stuff, the non-porn storylines are alright. They're not bad. Not nearly as bad as a lot of other people are saying. It's doing it's job of worldbuilding, creating a narrative that explains why the couple are so eager to jump into NTS/NTR when there was never a hint of it before. It makes sense to me to include it for that reason, so I won't detract any points despite it being a bit out there, lol.

Excellent sharing/netorase game that is actually written well keeps away from the hardcore NTR stuff. Renders are high quality and improve over time. Love the option to have scenes with other women and those characters are written perversely but believable. Story is interesting and I'm actually invested in the oddballs trying to get Kathryn. Only downside is the rate at which updates roll out but I won't remove a point because everyone's process, team, life, etc is different. Keep up the good work dev.
