Awful Game, started great, mid story tries to make a plottwist that just makes the game boring, dumb and makes no actual sense.

Too bad the start of the story was actually really good, and made you think of a type of story that could actually make sense

Definitely underrated IMO. If you enjoy netorare, then you should give this a go. It's a kinetic novel so there are no choices, but honestly, that's never a problem with netorare themed games, since choices can sometimes make it feel more like a netorase game instead, which is arguably a completely different kink.

Art and story were great, can't wait to play the rest of Hangover Cat's games!

My favourite NTR VN thus far. It really got to me and I couldn't think of anything else for quite some time. It's certainly not for everyone but a 10/10 recommend if you're into NTR. The art's great too!

Solid good novel. There is no choices in the game, but you can play from two different perspectives. Story is very unique, starts very well, but then falls on quality a bit, if you can accept that people can be guilable and stupid at times, then story is quite enjoyable.
Art, renders and CGs are amazing! Adding high quality shadows really makes a massive different, plus animations are quite good as well.
Overall good game that I enjoyed playing.

The art is sometimes nice, sometimes awful and always inconsistent. Sometimes it looks like a generic eastern eroge knock-off, other times it looks like below average western art. That being said, the art was never the main selling point of this, but the writing. If the writing is good it can go a long way.

The story starts off not bad, it has a decent build up with somewhat believable characters, which is not a given by any means, but then later continues with many overly dramatical "couple problems" which remind of relationship issues that you don't want to experience, and I am not even talking about the netorare element here. At first the writing seemed kind of realistic, until the plot began to unfold, the forced plot-twist and antagonist reveal being a self insert - if I have ever seen one, made me slowly realise how much of a fanfic I am actually consuming here. At least he wasn't the usual type of gym bro or ugly bastard that steals the girl, but in this case it was so ridiculous that it made me laugh more than anything, with the "bull" secretly living in this guys house like some freak hiding in
the walls, while being a shut-in stalker and trying to be a chad at the same time. How can this be the "bull" here? Of course the author tried his best to make him appear cool and mysterious, and look, I have nothing against wish fulfillment in games, but that end part was plain silly, my man.

I don't usually play NTR games, but idk why I felt like I should give this one a chance.

Well, the story is kinda stupid... So the bad guy tries to blackmail the wife with documents that don't even exist and she (the oh so loving wife doesn't even try to communicate with her husband about it or to actually see those documents that he supposedly have).
At one point, the MC talks with the detective and they decide against "recruiting" her on the scheme against the bad guy... why? If she really loved the MC she would understand. He could explain that he felt that she was cheating, which was in fact true. Also, why not just tell her that you know she is cheating and know about the blackmail, stop the guy from fucking your wife and then see if you still want to be with her or not (probably not, cuz if it is so easy to trick her into cheating, why would you want someone like that to be your wife?)
Personally, if I would be in a relationship and she would feel the need to "sacrifice" this way instead of talking with me and communicating, I wouldn't be in a relationship with her anymore. It's stupid. I mean, she is supposed to be a grown up woman. What is the MC even trying to achieve? The fact she went behind his back still remains, he should still break the relationship (as soon as he has proof that she is cheating), no matter why she did it.
People give the MC shit for being "rude" and "making her cry". Well, he is being cheated on, it makes sense for him to be angry, ffs. As the detective explains, she could separate and get half his belongings in a divorce.

Gave it an average score because it got my hearth pounding like crazy in some moments and I felt like suffocating, don't know if that is what you are supposed to feel... Definitely didn't get excited. It also has a great art style. What I noticed in the limited number of NTR games I played is that, beside the good art style (another reason for stars), the female sometimes really shows feelings towards the MC... idk, it simulates a relationship better, unlike in some other games where they feel more robotic... I would like a game like this, with a female like this, but without the NTR I guess. Putting myself in the characters shoes, I even got a bit angry. Didn't finish it tho, I don't know if I will... guess NTR games aren't for me.

Need to avoid spoilers, but I will say that there is a lot of stupid in this game. The drawings are cute enough. I've seen better and I've seen worse. I can award up to 2 stars for them...but I can't go any higher because large portions of the characters behaviors and plot make no sense. I also don't especially enjoy games where bad people can do bad things and not have it come back to haunt them.

As someone that values good text more than visuals this was a really fucking hot read, not only for ntr genre but also corruption and domination (which are 2 of the many other missing tags). Not to say the images are not, despite the slight changes in style some CGs have.

My only disappointment was the wife perspective route ending prematurely, compared to husband pov. Which is a shame since this is one of the best ntr vn I've read (not played because it's kinetic novel and I don't consider it a real game). Also, a scene replay menu would've been nice.

The game is kind of boring if you try to read it fully from the MC perspective while expecting immediate porn. On the other hand, the scenes themselves are hot, the girl is cute, and the villain is a fucking genius (in more than one sense). Art in the scenes is kind of inconsistent but still nice enough. The MC is annoying but realistic, the same goes for the girl.

    The Edge Of v1.0

Wow! I usually don't play this kind of game/VN but Beth is so hot I can't resist not to. Surprisingly it turns out to be awesome, storywise. The CGs are good too. This is a very linear VN and there is only 1 choice for the ending scene/epilogue on the male/husband/Sam perspective. For the full experience, you have to follow through both perspectives, Sam and Beth. Pretty sure many will not like it especially because they don't have any 'control' over the characters and they most likely disapprove many of the actions and behaviors of the characters.

One of the duller NTR novels I've read.
Relies heavily on suspension to keep you interested. This wears thin later in the story.
Walls of text and nauseous dialogue that will make your eyes roll.
The characters are unconvincing on all sides, which ruins any immersion and "serious" tone the novel is trying to set.
Tedious levels of drama and convolution in the plot.
The MC is completely unlikeable, as is his partner. This isn't good, you need to be invested in at least one of the characters in the relationship in order to feel anything.
The FeMC route is boring and predictable. She's even more one-dimensional and dense than the MC.
The ending is a true anti-climax.
    [edit]
The new ending has MC remain willingly deluded. It reaches peak melodramatic levels commonplace to netorare endings. This one however is hilarious. At one point, the BGM (Satie's "Gymnopedies") actually slows down, resulting in the most tragicomic scene ever.

    Pros.
Good character design for the heroine.
Good NTR scenes and scenarios, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The MC plays the part of a paranoid schizo well (albeit the world's most useless schizo ever. What's the point in being a schizo if you can't even confirm your suspicions when they're right in front of your eyes?), unfortunately it gets tiring later on.

Almost perfect, just couple little gripes.

From the guy's perspective it was super awesome, the mystery. For the longest time I questioned a lot of things

Especially was great the part when we're talking on the phone with Beth and there's a "video she's watching" in the background, super hot.

If you ignore those couple things I mentioned above in spoiler, the writing is very good, a rare great game.

Oh almost forgot, what's with the sound effect of the guy cumming, it's ridiculously over the top and sounds entirely like something else, lol.

The Edge Of has quite excellent writing, not just by NTR standards, but by porn games in general.

    Major spoilers below!

I think it was quite daring of the developer to create such an unlikeable male MC (Sam) in an NTR story. Playing from Sam's perspective, his abrasiveness makes you actually wish that Beth would cheat on him. This was executed with such skill; Sam's descent into paranoia and madness is truly a sight to behold.

So, why am I deducting two points? Because while most of the story is a perfectly realistic, grounded depiction of marital paranoia and infidelity, the final act sadly plunges into copious amounts of porn logic, ruining immersion. If Drew was an ordinary (if handsome) guy with a human-sized dick, who simply seduced Beth by showing her what a paranoid toxic asshole Sam was, that would have been an immensely better story. Sadly, what we got instead was an orgasmically delirious Beth deciding to frame her husband for sexual assault just so she could get some dicking from Drew. I mean... what?

Anyway, The Edge Of is still leaps and bounds ahead of most NTR games out there, so it's definitely worth a read!

Honestly one of the best NTR games out there right now. Great art and good story. This is a game where story matters as much as the sex scenes. A good read and good a wank.

Two things need to be painfully aware before you start this game:

    1) This is as NTR as it gets, meaning you will get to see all the aspects of a situation like this from each side so if you're thinking about only dipping a toe into the genre, this is not likely for you. Also goes without saying that it might lead to general irl insecurities since it depicts a very casual home/work life instead of a fantasy setting

    2) This is a kinetic novel, meaning there will be zero choices for you to choose from. This very much progresses as a colored porn comic in which we're just along for the ride. It's all linear

As per the second point of this being more of a porn comic, there is very minimal animation so please don't gripe about that. It wouldn't really make sense to incorporate that

The overall plot is actually pretty well written all things considered and the dev has complete control of the story without it really ever getting out of hand or leaving any weird loose ends. Maaaaaybe he had a bit more fun with the sub/dom relationship but I'm sure none of us really mind that part all that much. Only thing I will say is that

The amount of drama grows little by little throughout the story, resulting, in the end, in a rough satisfying fuck with a man that can finally satisfy this poor young woman.
The build up is slow and realistic, and in the end we are finally rewarded with one of the hottest scenes ever.
    10/10

edit: September 15, 2021. I'm seriously convinced this is the best game on this website.

    Mister Boombastic

This is a fantastic NTR game! The criticism in some of the reviews below is understandable, but I think the game deserves a higher rating nonetheless. Just read the two warnings below if you are in doubt whether this game is for you.
    1. The male MC is jealous and paranoid. The thought of his wife cheating on him slowly drives him crazy and as a result he starts to act like a jerk towards the people around him. It's not the easiest character to identify with, but this turns out to be a crucial part of the plot.
    2. This game is a classic visual novel, which means the story is linear (no choices), there's a lot of text and relatively few images.
If this is a dealbreaker for you then you might want to keep looking, but I found that this game had all the ingredients for a good NTR story.

First of all, the writing is superb. Even though there's a lot of text it never gets boring. Because the MC is so paranoid you're constantly in suspense if the wife is cheating on you or if you're just imagining things. The first part of the game only has a few lewd scenes and mainly builds on this mystery. That's a crucial part of NTR that most games lack in my opinion.

Second, it feels like the dev put a lot of thought and work into this game. It's not just your average 'slutwife fucks the whole town' story. The plot is very strong and the characters (especially the wife) have a substantial and realistic personality. There's a good build-up in the story, the artwork looks gorgeous (even though animations would've been a nice addition) and the use of English is flawless.

In summary, this is a great NTR game if you aren't opposed to the two points I mentioned above. The first part (husband's POV) mainly contains story and suspense, the second part (wife's POV) contains most of the lewd scenes. It's also possible to play both parts simultaneously, but I'd strongly recommend not to start the wife's POV until you played at least the first week of the husband's POV.

Like Voilsh said, imo, the MC is hard for most normal guys to identify with. The game spends way too much time in his thoughts which are extremely paranoid from the get go of the story. I found myself not liking the guy before I even saw the wife. Granted, his paranoia ends up being correct, but I found myself not liking the guy long before this even came to light. I managed to make it to the part where he first finds out about her infidelity, but that's only because I stopped reading many of the screens and was just clicking to the next one.

On a bright note, the art is pretty good. You can tell effort was put into the different scenes to include the camera motions. But I just can't get over the flood of text of the MC just rambling on and on and a lot of unnecessary descriptions of details that you can simply see in the pictures of the scene. If this were a text only game, I could understand some of the verbosity, but a lot of it in this game is unnecessary, and the MC's thoughts just make me like him less and harder to identify with.
