VN - Ren'Py - The Fiery Scion [Update 29c] [Vander]

The main plot actually really good and decent, the idea of world building, having your own town, harem etc was really a nice idea, unfortunately this is the only good aspect from this game in my opinion.

Here are the cons as for why i gave this game a 2 star ratings
- First, the harem is just too big and most of them are so ugly and not really necessary for the plot like the dwarf and the single mother guard for example.
- Second, the game keep adding more and more girls like the guard, the dwarf and some newest maid etc and quickly becomes part of your harem instead of focusing with early girl like Kes for example, for god sake it was so annoying when some unknown guard become part of your harem a few moment after her first introduction, fucking a maid and makes her part of your harem again few moment after her first introduction.
- Third, choice of model, imagine ignoring a better model like Kes, Helen and that priestess when you fight the necromancer for some ugly maid, dwarf or guard. and if not for the story i wont even bother play this game when this game literally has the most ugly HS MC probably, most of the LI are ugly and sorry i dont even turn on with ALL the sex scenes.
- Fourth, too many fillers unrelated with the plot, tbh since i'm only starting this game a couple of days ago i dont really mind it that much because i was playing from chapter one to the latest but it will become an issue as you dont really moving much with the main plot and since this game strong point is the story that wont do good for me as i want the game to moving forward and not being held back by filler on top of the already lengthy of development.
- Fifth, mediocre sex scene and animation, and i skipped most of the sex scenes as its really boring and not even turn me on.
Conclusion, despite the story deserved a 4 stars i just cannot give this game more than 2 stars because of all the flaws, such a shame tho because i really liked the story.

The collision of story and sex never feels jarring, both elements are equally engaging, making the game unpredictable, immersive, and addictive. I came for the adult content but stayed for the story.

The worldbuilding is professional-grade and fully realized. The central curse, which causes very few boys to be born, isn’t just a setup for the harem, it meaningfully shapes culture, politics, and character behavior, making the world feel alive and grounded. Magic feels lived-in, political intrigue and party adventuring are fully integrated, and the story unfolds naturally, like a long fantasy series rather than a rushed sequence of events. Playing as an isolated mage navigating this chaotic, female-dominated world is engaging, and the author gradually reveals layers of lore, cultural quirks, and plot threads in a way that makes the power fantasy feel earned. This is one of the rare adult visual novels where the setting and story genuinely justify the smut, creating a rich, immersive, and believable fantasy realm.

The story itself is top-tier. The premise, a newly graduated battle-mage entering a world warped by a childbirth curse, is handled with care. Politics, magic rules, social conventions, and the economy are integrated naturally into scenes rather than dumped as exposition. The narrative moves seamlessly between dark, funny, and unexpectedly tender moments, delivering real stakes and satisfying pacing. With a staggering amount of content already available, the story feels rich, engaging, and rewarding, offering a deep experience beyond the usual adult VN fare.

The main character is a total breath of fresh air. A powerful, capable battle-mage, he navigates political chaos and growing magical power with grounded confidence, never sliding into “whiny protagonist” or self-insert god territory. He’s firm but fair, sometimes ruthless, ambitious yet respectful, and treats the women around him with genuine consideration. His competence and personality make interactions, political, emotional, or romantic, feel earned, and the steamy scenes integrate naturally into the story rather than feeling like filler. Watching him handle challenges and relationships is consistently entertaining.

The cast is massive, varied, and mostly likable, ranging from elves and dwarves to human nobles, which is both a strength and a challenge. While not every love interest receives deep development, the main ones, like Karla, Aoife, Monica, and Arwen, have emotionally compelling arcs that land with humor, tension, and heart. The variety in personalities and body types keeps the harem fresh, and the relationships, even amid sexual content, feel genuine and integrated into the story rather than purely gratuitous. Minor characters occasionally blur together, but the world’s internal logic and careful design make the large cast feel deliberate and engaging.

Gameplay is mostly a kinetic novel with light branching, choices rarely create divergent paths, instead slightly affecting tone or relationship intensity. If you’re looking for story-first AVNs, this works perfectly, but don’t expect a deep, choice-driven RPG experience. Minor visual or choice-related issues exist, but they never detract from the strong narrative and worldbuilding.

Graphically, the game isn’t cutting-edge. Renders have a Honey Select vibe, and animations are serviceable, but the variety of backgrounds, steady polish, and improving lighting keep it visually engaging. Music fits the tone, though the soundtrack is limited, and sound effects and voice work are minimal. Overall, while not AAA-level, the visuals and audio complement the writing, which quickly draws you in and makes minor shortcomings easy to overlook.

The adult content is abundant, story-justified, and seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Breeding, harem dynamics, and public or semi-public exhibitionism are central, yet the plot drives each scene rather than using sex as filler. The scale is epic, like following a 1,000-page saga, with frequent updates expanding both story and relationships. Repetition in poses or angles can occur, but the volume, variety, and lore integration more than make up for it. The developer avoids netori/NTR and provides player agency over certain routes, keeping the experience focused and satisfying. For fans of harem, breeding, or pregnancy-themed content, this game delivers on both scale and depth, making the adult scenes meaningful and earned.

Bottom line: ambitious, addictive, and unapologetic. If you enjoy fantasy, magic, adventure, and a massive, story-driven harem, this is a must-play. It delivers a living, expansive world with emotionally weighted moments, intense magic battles, and relentless content updates. The narrative is deep and immersive, the main character compelling, and the adult content, harem, breeding, and lineage-building, is fully integrated into the story. An incredibly impressive story! The world building in this game is easily professional level and seems to get deeper as the story unfolds. The setting and the graphical style remind me of The Witcher 1. The quality of the writing is also very good. The characters are believable and their behavior stays consistent. Finally, the length of the story is unbelievable. The first part is already much longer than almost all other games, and since then it has just gotten longer and larger.

So why only four stars then, if the game is so outstanding? Well, other constructive reviews have already noted the shortcomings. This is a kinetic novel, i.e. there are very few choices and they don't really affect the story in any way. Also this is a huge power fantasy even in porn game standards. There are not really any challenges in the story, the main character succeeds in everything that he tries and any problems last for only some minutes, after which they are resolved. Personally I like the graphical style and the number of love interests, which are two things that some reviewers have taken offense with.

This game could hardly improve if it wanted to. For a game posted on F95 zone, this is genuinely an enthralling and engaging narrative set in a world that I constantly want to learn more about.

I cannot reiterate this in any better way than: This game is among the best in terms of worldbuilding, the renders are amazing, and for a game with what is likely to be very little budget for spending, it performs marvelously.

When quality is sacrificed for quantity.
Number of girls and women thrown at you is insane and most of them are ugly or very dull and plain looking. Only later you get some beauties, but MC still keeps spending more time with ugly ones.
Part 1 was interesting with so many changes in MC's life and adventures, but Part 2 starts focusing on drama and filler events, i got sick and tired before reaching end of it.
Harem gets bigger and bigger, your favorite girls barely gets any attention or none at all. Sex scenes are repetitive with same poses and shitty camera angles.
I bet by the end of VN MC will have over 100 women, but my favorite girl Kes will remain untouched.

Party of this hero definetely must not fall.

This is a well written fantasy settings story with RPG-like plot. You have party and do varied quests. Pacing is questionable, you're getting thrown immediately on the deep waters with plot, but the story is A-MAZ-ING Lately I was tired of fantasy games or books and focused on sci-fi or postapo, but this one is remarkable. MC's a good guy. Kind for his slaves and friends, doing best to support people that are close to him and he's a powerful mage aswell who's not afraid of fighting and being firm when it's needed. There's not much progress for this character, because he just don't need it - a ready product and only thing he can upgrade is power. There's one very visible con ... his face. At the beginning he looks like an alcoholic bum. Later it changes, but still... well, I'm just not the fan of this face.

There are lots of varied LIs with some amazing women like Aoife. And by variety I don't mean only characters, but also races. Elves, dwarfes and more... and there are hints of even more in the future. Some of them start with issues, bad past or temper, but all of them become sweet wifes or concubines. Too sweet for my taste, I prefer when there are some not so submissive women in harem, so there's diversity. Most of LIs throws themselves on MC, so with big part of them (but not all) there's a little bonding before and also after sex, but that's expected as this game have really big harem. It's good for players who likes fast sex scenes, but not too appealing for those who prefer to bond a bit before act and for me, they're just too easy. But the minority who needs time, they're worth it. There are some really touching stories. Also, the virgins could be more virgin. I mean MC is a first man for most of them, but plenty of them mentioned having toys or hymen breaking fingers, etc. There's not a single drop of blood and MCs dick isn't their first pussy experience. So, there's a blood from cut off heads, but not from broken hymens, which is quite disappointing.

Graphic is quite detailed, but average. The same comes to LI models, whose faces are ... well, I've seen many prettier HS models and would expect more from game started in 2022, but I knew what I was signing up for and haven't done that for graphics - had to mention it though. Don't get me wrong, they aren't ugly, but models looks a lil bit outdated. I'm however grateful for varied bodies. It's refreshing to not see majority of huge boobs in HS game and here you'll find all kinds of them with proportions that fits rest of the body and role. Animations are simple, but pleasurable and there are cumming inside animations, which is always a plus. If it comes to sensory experience, beside of not to appealing faces, the only sound is music. Don't expect moans or other sound effects.

✔ Entertaining story, ✔ bunch of good LIs, ✔ a lot of good sex scenes. The biggest disappointment was when ... the content ended. Seriously, story here is so good that I don't care about dated models, lack of sound effects or small amount of bonding and I recommend it to everyone who likes fantasy settings and good harem sex without drama.

This visual novel truly touched me. The story is incredibly written, with romance that feels genuine and emotional from start to finish. Every scene pulls you in, making you care deeply about the characters and their struggles. Seriously... I am playing part 3, and I feel I am nearing end. I am just at the changing haircuts scene and I just feel the need to write the review for this.

Let me start with this, I put 5 stars, while in reality I want to give 4, which is the most illogical reason to show that this AVN is like 100 stars out of 5 possible to give...

Let me explain...

Since the first part and first few minutes, this AVN felt like the most beautiful and Deja-vu like story, like it was part of my dream and fantasy. It just pulled me in and I wish it would never end...

That good this AVN is for me.

Now, for the reason why I would give 4 stars is, that, if there would not be so many LIs and women we might not need and like, it would be purely 100 stars out of 5 (do not get me wrong please, for I understand the reason lore wise, or just preferences wise - Ishtar, Lord, not much male population, etc.). But that is only my subjective opinion.

But back to why I love this AVN... The story, the worldbuilding, the characters, the moments, the dialogue... It just feels so captivating and engrossing. It feels and makes me want to live in that world, which displays the quality and prowess of the author - Vander - in making this AVN...

For that I would like to immensely thank you Vander, for making something truly enjoyable and depthful.

It has badass moments, fights with magic, thrilling and nerve-wracking moments, parental moments, situations that are unconventional but highly realistic, as well as those funny ones and cute ones.

All in all, it just FEELS SO RIGHT. It feels like reading a hefty trilogy, anthology, series, whatever of impeccably crafted fantasy world, and I wish others will get to enjoy it too.

Years ago TFS was my first contact with AVN at that time it was probbably 3th or 4th update. Already at that time I liked it. Then I lost contact . I found it about year ago . I must say what an awsome jurney you are taking us.

For those who want wanderful story with lot of sex , there is no better place to be !

This is an excellent VN with a fantastic story that hooks you in straight away. The world created is great to experience and feels well fleshed out, drawing on many inspirations, magic, myth and medieval, yet managing to feel unique. The characters are all beautifully woven together and will make you laugh, feel their anger and their pain. There are a few minor downsides but they don't really matter that much in the overall. 4.5 to 5 stars.

The main issue is the lack of choices. There are some choices, mainly about the MC's character but not that many to choose who you wish to be an LI. I get that some LI choices do directly effect the plot, as they need to be together for a treaty but as the MC is the official royal 'breeder' and a total manwhore, the MC sleeps with everyone, (constantly, like all the time, I'm knackered just reading it), even those you sometimes wish he didn't. As the resulting scenes are quite one dimensional you feel that you may have seen this before when your ploughing the 15 or 16th maid. It would be nice to be able to skip a few to enjoy the others more. The small downside is that visually it all looks little out of date and some of the LI's look a bit iffy and I would happily pass on. It's all subjective but it's a little disappointing, as there are many passing characters that are better looking than some of the chosen ones. Also some of the backgrounds lack detail and look strange particularly in scenes in grassland away from the towns or on the airship.

The final downside is where are we going with the backstory? A major problem for devs when they have a good VN. Can you finish the story or are you going to milk it until everyone gets bored. I feel with this much content, we should be heading towards a dramatic conclusion. But I'm still not sure what the conclusion will be. Is it to find and kill Eloise, a massive war with the orcs and demons, a quest with your companions against a particular demon or a revealed puppet master character who has been pulling the strings from the shadows or eradicating the black hand in an escalating plot of assassinations? Nothing is really certain yet which suggests it could be all of the above and we are not even half way through, which is worrying. I would really like to see a satisfying conclusion soon and the characters could be seen again on a different adventure, if the dev wants to continue with this world. Come on dev nail that landing and bring us home.

I don't need to say much here. I finished all available content in a couple of days and was not disappointed. Some lovely renders and animations but is the story and story telling that really give this one life. Such amazing characters and character building, even an older gamer and AVN enthusiast like myself had a couple of bits of grit in my eye at one point . If I could give this a 10/10 I would. Aoife is my favourite, who doesn't love a good (girl) maid!

Most of the time you can tell what the author is trying to say but all of this could have been avoided by using a native English speaking proofreader.

The poor character models and visuals just don't cut it in 2022-2025. The character models are barely serviceable (two steps above stick figures).

I know the author tries to justify this huge harem due to the curse and religious teachings of the time (Ishtar) but it just doesn't work well. You can't have 24 or more love interests and have meaningful relationships with all of them - it's impossible. So major sacrifices have to be made to have this type of harem story. What are those sacrifices? I'm glad you asked. 75% of the love interests are basically throw away characters. The MC fucks them once or twice and you rarely interact with them for most of the rest of the game. Why? What's the point?

A good portion of the love interests are forgettable and only good for one or two rolls in the sack or to put out a baby. I often forget who some of the girls in my harem are (not joking) due to only interacting with them on rare occasions. Who is this girl I'm talking to? Oh yea, I fucked her two versions ago. Yawn...

The game is essentially a kinetic novel disguised as a visual novel. Content vs number of choices is extremely low. Most players won't even look at or consider kinetic novels so the author basically created one and added a few choices here and there so he could call it a visual novel. The game resembles a kinetic novel much more than it does a visual novel.

The only saving grace of the game is the compelling story and overall decent writing. That's it. So many throwing 5 star reviews at games like this like candy. Players tend to over review, not under review and that is clearly evident here.

The story is compelling but proceeds at a snails pace. Lots of "fluff" events are thrown in daily that distract from the main plot. I'm not talking about a few distractions from the main plot, I'm talking a LOT! The MC has his attention drawn away from the main story for a near countless number of reasons. If you want to read about every single thing that a person does in a day you may enjoy the plot moving forward at a snail's pace. Personally, I prefer a summary focusing on the highlights, not a daily diary account.

Examples? Sure! The story often has to describe the MC having breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The same thing occurs with having a bath, waking up each morning, and going to bed each night. The daily grind is real my friends. Little attempt is made to speed up the plot, story, and main events. In fact, it feels like the author pulls out every tool in his arsenal to slow the main plot down intentionally.

The MC tries to screw every girl in sight (I'm not joking). Nearly every girl desires him and wants to join his harem. The girls that I really want to add to my harem aren't allowed until much later in the story (the MC's adventuring group). Monica is added fairly early but the other two are added much later. The MC adding the dwarf cook to his harem was ridiculous IMO. Author - "Hmm, I haven't added a new girl to the MC's harem for two hours so let's have him fuck the dwarf cook." Come on dev, really??? This type of craziness is common. So much story time is wasted on meaningless stuff like this...

The two most popular games on F95Zone (which I won't name) focus on a small cast of characters with the MC developing deep and meaningful relationships with each of them. Doing this well makes for a compelling and deep game that is both immersive, engaging, and fun. One of those games was even written in Honey Select 2 (it's not hard to guess which one).

I recommend the game to those who don't care about the visuals and just want to read a slow burn daily diary kinetic type novel and have lots of sex with countless forgettable love interests instead of focusing on a handful and having deep and meaningful relationships with them (and having a focused plot that moves at a reasonable pace).

So, the cons first:
-The dialogue can be a little cringey at times but you get used to it
-The mixing of modern language with "olde english" is weird as well, for example a pair of women using the word "scrub" to describe a man, and then you might see a line like "I am faint with hunger"... it's kind of stupid sometimes
-The graphics obviously aren't the best, and a few of the character models aren't the best looking (but the majority of them are)
-The animations are nothing great and even a little janky at parts
-I get that it's a mega harem game, and I won't knock it for that despite that I prefer smaller harems, but I wish we were able to reject at least some of the women

The pros then:
-Interesting story and events, plus good world building
-Very sexy character models, even if the graphics leave a lot to be desired
-Characters have some decent depth considering it's a mega harem game
-No sandbox

Summary:
Honestly, whether you like this game or not is going to depend almost entirely on whether you like the main sexual themes: mega harem, impregnation, and nearly every new woman you meet lusting after you openly. If you like these themes then the cons I mentioned above will not be as big a deal. If you're ambivalent or don't like those themes, then the cons are likely going to be a deal breaker.

Excellent story and copious Honey Select sex without countless varied love interests. What more can I ask for? The story is well written and makes it easy to suspend disbelief as the world justifies (a childbirth curse) the reason for men to have many lovers. Despite this fact, it’s not the center of the story which revolves around the MC’s learning about his growing magical power, political intrigue around the area he lives and the world at large, adventuring with his party, and so much more. There’s a lot here, and while the Honey Select sex scenes are just the cookie-cutter ones, there’s enough of them and with plenty of build up to whet your appetite.

I’ll admit that, as an older man, the adult scenes don’t really do it for me, but the story keeps me coming back. A highly recommend it if you’re a fan of longer stories intermixed with plenty of story-justified sex.

Great VN, I like the story and the models used. I especially like the way the children and fairies are shown, size wise. Other VN's with children or smaller people show the distorted.

Always watching out for updates, which are more frequent than some others I follow.

One of the best of this genre. The story takes center stage and it's decent, holds your attention when it wants to. The side characters are good and most are memorable but sometimes there's too many of them. Animations are decent.

A decent AVN that is held back by three major weaknesses.

On the plus side the story and writing are good overall. The game has plenty of sex scenes which a lot of visual novel authors seem to forget about.

Three major weaknesses:

Character Models & Renders

Character models and renders are several generations old and it shows. The author opted for 2010 era character models when much better ones are available. There's no charm or advantage to doing this IMO aside from faster render processing. Perhaps the author can't afford good hardware to render the game on, don't know. The visuals are a weak point of the game. It's difficult to get immersed in the sex scenes when the character models look terrible.

Harem & Love Interests

Instead of creating deep and meaningful characters the author chose to throw new love interest after new love interest at the player at hyper speed. Good writers create a small cast of characters and develop deep and meaningful relationships with each of them. Not so here, instead, in order to keep the story new and fresh, the author opted to throw new love interests at the player instead of developing deep relationships with them. So many authors make this mistake. Perhaps they simply don't have the necessary writing skills to develop deep and meaningful characters so their only option is to throw new love interest after new love interest at the player on a continual basis. This results in all the love interests blending together and being forgettable. By the time the story cycles back to love interest #20, it's been too long and I don't even know who I'm talking to anymore.

Choices

Few choices in the game. The few that are there are minor and don't have a real impact on the story. Most are asking if you want to see a bonus scene or not or call someone by a different name. The author basically made a kinetic novel and added a few minor choices and called it a visual novel. The game is a kinetic novel and linear in near every way aside from a few minor choices added in as an afterthought. The player has no choices on who to add to his harem or add as love interests.

Summary

Overall, I applaud the story and the high amount of sex scenes but can't overlook the three major weaknesses of the game which brings it down considerably.

I'm not sure I need to leave an actual "review", as opposed to general observations.

As a medieval magic, feudal project, the concept and the storytelling is compelling.

Rendering and characters are well presented.

If I have criticism, its the "oh yes my lord" reaction from all female LI's, and instant acceptance of such of the many wives, concubines and general shaggers the lordling has in his harem, no matter their status.

Now I fully understand the storyline of a degredation of mens proloferation because of a "curse", but it just detracts something from the story for me. Not enough to make me not want more - indeed, I am looking forward to much more! Quite where this goes and for how long will be interesting - I have played this only for the first time start to finish 1-3 in various sittings, so now sit eagerly awaiting the next update.
