Currently, Emile disappears after she leaves your apartment (she's supposed to come back after the Haven mission, but IDK if that's in yet), and you can't keep your kids. I don't think that'll ever be a thing, for lore and gameplay (and possibly Patreon) reasons.
(...Though being able to visit them would be nice... But IDK if Patreon would allow that...)

Similar thing occurring occasionally when leaving the locker room in school, seem like the game doesn't appreciate exhibitionism much.
Can still bypass with rollback, usually, so not a game-breaker.

You're using an older unstable dev version, newest unstable dev version posted here is 0.3.3.21, which has "fixed bugs introduced in recent releases" in the changelog. Might include that particular bug

I thought v17 was supposed to be 'stable' as is written in the op? Why is it marked as 'stable' then.
Hm, changelog is kinda useless, doesn't actually show what was fixed. Oh well.

huh, good question. I do remember the outcry a couple pages back where lots of people complained that .17 is a dev version and shouldn't have been uploaded here.
The last official stable version is 0.3.3.04, as that is available publicly on itch.io and on Patreon.
.17 wasn't even released on Patreon, IIRC it was only made available on Discord for a while.

The mods messed up and put a dev build instead of a stable build. You can get the actual stable one in itch.io.

Gotta love how many times this game claimed my mc did something she really didn't, like this case here:

I only did some runs in the park, so since when i'm doing dancing in there?!
Probably the fault of code not checking whether an event fired off or not before allowing such dialogues to pop up.
There are also seem to be no checks on sex dialogues either, so if you blow a guy that same guy can then say stuff like 'next time i should put it in your mouth' lol, even though he's just been in there. Big mouth fan huh.
Creates a lot of funny fiascos.

EDIT: Nipple piercings don't really like staying in their proper place, and can also be displaced by outfits like the frilly bodysuit.

Rent-guy can be annoying, it seems he's easily missable and whenever he's coming over to collect you may not be home at that time so the debt for this week gets transferred over to the next time he manages to catch you?
There also might be a bug, once paid him yet he came to collect the very next day again.

If sum1 has issues with this thing running try:
1. Press shift+G when the game is running.
2. Force GL2 Renderer.
3. Force 30 fps.
4. Restart the game.

See if that helps.

yes probably, due to the fact that 0.3.3.21 was never meant to be played as it's a leaked DEV build from pateron
(being a patreon is basically paying to be a bug tester/quality assurance )
but do support if you can unfortunately i am broke lol

Yeah I def ripped it from here but wasn't aware it was the current build; haven't played this in over a year so not up to snuff on being a 'decent' pirate lol. I'll prob sub soon but... payday is far away ._.

v0.3.3.04, the current stable version (although without all the recent exhibitionist-focused updates) is available for free on itch.io or the dev's Patreon.

Another question, is it a save from previous game versions, or do you have this issue when starting a new game?

Old saves can run into many issues, so can cause problems if you use them across versions.

So that might be the source of the issues. Try starting a new game and see if you get the same error when opening shops. Sometimes games are fine when going between updates, but any systems that are updated or completely changed can break when using an old save on the new version of the game.
