Ren'Py - Abandoned - The Gift Reloaded [v0.08b] [Mrzz]

Really good mind control game up to the open world. Not sure who made the decision, but transition was horrible and shift of content was terrible as well.
Renders and CGs are beautiful, animation are ok, the whole story and plot is quite enjoyable, but sadly up to certain point in game, then it just goes downhill.

IMHO one of best examples of Mind Control genre. I love how corruption of girls around MC was paced and shape it took. I'm still looking for something to fill the void this game left .
While characters are not too deep, they are deep enough. Powers are used in satisfying manner in both lewd and utilitarian way. Don't know why, but I always like when MC uses powers for thing other than horny stuff. For me it shows that some additional thought was put behind story.
Renders were OK. Story was also OK, but could be deeper.
If you like Mind Control games it's 5/5. For all other it's 4/5

Renders are ok but nothing to write home about given the age of the entry. Things were going okish up until the weird open world decision in the middle of the game. I did not like that transition and definitely think that it needed better thinking through. Animations were not great and scenes were pretty short too.

This game combines standard elements of similar games into an uninspired and overall low-quality package. It's got the stuff but overall everything ranges somewhere from bad to mediocre. It's probably good that it's abandoned, the dev should really get more inspired before making something.

why is it abandoned? i wish it was continued it had a good story and if done right could've gone right with the girls being saved by the mc before bad stuff you wouldn't have wanted happening happen, with that being said i liked the game/story but wish it was continued and went in a good direction

Great idea with huge scenario and potential. It become like a movie and playing too easy, but very exiting. BTW in all this environment MC all the time is in charge. And it's boring. PLEASE make some dead end to make user use their brains.

This was pretty good, though it would have been nice to have more variety in the sex scences, more options, though this was somewhat made up by scripted encounters. Emotions were a little off, esp. the MCs anger, though he often discovered just how off he was, a good touch, don't know why the mind control thing attracts me since, though dominant, I don't have any real control issues other than not being controlled, but I admit I do. The fact that these games have to have a build up of "power", whatever form that takes, is essential to make it a game doesn't hurt them, nor does having a secondary plot line, as this does. I rate it 4+.

A very nice story line with minimal grind for no good reason. Main story is written well with a plot that keeps pulling you back. One of my top picks at the moment. Just wish they would update more often.

It was mediocre untill about 70% moment of the game (v0.008b) and after this game got:
- new amazing interfaces
- complete gameplay overhaul (for the better of course)
- New open world (I hate grinding and wasting time but I really like this one)

I'd recommend sticking with it to this moment because it's really worth it. It quickly went from 6/10 to 9/10.
I guess it's the moment when new devs took over.
It's definitely worth playing and supporting now.

It is one of the better games I have came a crossed and am waiting for the next installment of it the only down side i see is there is not enough updates the maker has a habit of leaving of where you are always wanting more

One of the greatest games about mind control I know. Almost everything in this game is to my liking: usage of powers, claiming harem, relationships with others, devotion of slaves. I fuckin love it

It has been a while since I've played through this, but I am mostly just making this review as a rebuttal to some rather drawn out arguments made in previous reviews.

While the latest updates have fleshed out what was pretty much strictly a VN into something that is cobbling together enough elements to be actually called a "game", it is few and far between to find something of that category. Almost everything on this site, besides some mostly older and mostly rpgmaker titles are interactive (virtual) novels. OF FUCKING COURSE there should be reading, story and narratives. When a VN makes you want to skip dialogue it's just shit, and skipping is beside the entire point of a VN in the first place.

There are terabytes upon terabytes of free 3d animation, 2d animation and real live action pornography available on line for free. If you are just hurtin' for a jerkin' use those.

VNs are for when you have an hour after work or a good gym session to really sit down and have a gentleman's wank. Not for cheap release.

Bro, "The Gift - Reloaded" is the best constructed VN I have seen here.
It is all the biggest porn-game tropes-
Dad dead so MC with his sister and mom - check.
Magical super-power to enable the standard harem sexual content - check.
Solid quality models that are reasonably unique looking, with pretty average render depth and fairly mediocre animations - check.

For some hours, I was enjoying a very typical "slightly above-average" quality VN. The writing does not detract, but it is not the floral prose of Tolkien or Joyce, nor is is laden with witty dialogues or biting satire.
Certainly did not dislike it, but I expected it to end and fit neatly into the category of "entertaining but fairly unremarkable games that will appeal primarily to those with specific fetishes".
But...It did not "end" where I expected it would. In fact, that was just half of Act 1. When I was not looking, that story wiggled into genuinely complex intellectual/ethical/philosophical territory, and did so very well.

For those that give games here 1-star while screaming "These games are for fapping. No one wants to read." - this is not the best choice.
But for those who like a story, with complex characters with whom empathizing makes one consider complex realities about human nature - this is gold.

I have only seen a few games here attempt any real sincerity, and often it either fails to land effectively or comes off as a heavy-handed artificial profundity. I am not knocking the attempt, of course, as it always a brave goal - But that makes it all the more special when someone actually manages to do it.

This is my first time going through this. I just finished Act 1, and have to say that its an impressive VN so far. The characters are developed well so far, and the plot is extremely interesting. Looking forward to seeing how things will progress from this point on. Keep up the good work

Where to start... My hand got tired from skipping all the needless dialogue... That's not the good kind of 'tired hand' you want to get, trust me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: People play these games to FAP not to read a story!

Like many others, the dev probably decided to go for an Oscar halfway through the game. Too much dialogue with a few scarce h-scenes in between. The animation in the h scenes wasn't even that good. Also if you are playing this game for the 'incest' tag don't bother cause it's near non-existent.

And just when I thought I had finished this game, it changes direction again with Chapter 2. New open world, new UI and you guessed it, a mobile phone!

After playing for an hour I raged quit and decided to warn others against playing it and wasting their time.

I do love this game it is a nice mix of control and beauty the MC feels realistic along with all the women surrounding him and the corruption system is top notch its not like you just force the girls to do what ever you want it like dolls requires more influence it makes you feel like an actual super-powered man but not to the point of just over-powered its more like subjugation in a sense

I do like this game I just preferred the game play prior to 0.6. Not sure I'm a fan of a game suddenly becoming open world when it was already such a solid game, it just seemed to make the game take longer without adding more fun or adult nature. Still the renders are good and it's not bad just took a step backwards IMO.

nice and elaborate story, the level of which you'll find more in adventure games than in adult games, the renders are very good, animations are good enough (though improvement wouldn't hurt), different music and sound effects that fit different scenes and actions, an open world which is easy to navigate, clear quest log, that doesn't leave you in the dark or guessing. choices are fairly straightforward and some actions result in a finished game, but that isn't a problem in ren'py. all in all a high quality game, which had caught my attention in 2017 and i'm very glad it is being continued after a long hiatus.

This is one of my favorite games. While some people are saying this is a typical mind control game, I think this game goes a lot further with a great story line and somewhat developed characters. The M and S are great characters(really good art) and the dev does a great job hooking you in and making you want to come back for more. The only issue is that the development time is a little slow so you kind of forget whats going on if you don't replay at least a little before starting the new content. Keep up the great work!!

The main character is a young man living with his mother and sister, who then finds a potion that gives him mind control powers. It's the boring kind of mind control where every woman turns into a brainless bimbo that follow your every command, which makes them all the same since none of them have any personality afterwards.

There is a villain in the game, but our character is doing the same things he is, so this isn't a good guy vs bad guy story. Along with being evil, our character is massively incompetent and shockingly stupid. So I couldn't get into the story. The gameplay isn't any fun either. There's an open world aspect to it that is totally pointless because the story is linear. So all you get is a bunch of busywork and wasted time where you wander from room to room hoping to stumble across someone to talk to in the early game, plus some grinding to level up your stats in the late game.

It's a very unpleasant game to play.
