VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - The Harem Garage [v0.18] [CyberTurul]

When creating a translation using the Ren'Py SDK, some text from the original scripts.rpy file is simply missing in the generated translation files. Specifically: Main character name? and Jimmy.


If you're planning to work with translators in the future and expand language support for your game, it would be a good idea to improve this part. You might also want to consider adding language switch buttons in screens.rpy. Just a suggestion for the future


I solved this issue as follows:
Wrapped the prompt like this: (_("Main character name?"), length=16)
And assigned the name using: renpy.substitute(_("Jimmy"))

I just can't get invested in this one. Models and renders are fine. Has some decent music tracks. Appreciate the varied body model types. So far it's been entirely kinetic. Admittedly I put this down shortly following the first race event - so unknown how much content was covered.

Story and writing just not very good IMO. Especially in the intro, MC's inner dialogue info-dump is relentless. And over-narrating the mundane is just needless filler. MC has a best bro and dialogue in those scenes is pretty decent. Nearly every conversation with a female is unnatural and cringe.

MC has a sister/not sister (very confusing nor explained), shoving a romance path with her out of nowhere. She is 18, and like a light switch suddenly wants to jump on her "brother"? Also a virgin apparently, yet her actions are of a loose slut. And an estranged ex-gf shows up out of nowhere, bangs and leave the MC with virtually no context. Plus the inadvertent hand job from the Mother. The reader is never given any depth for investment.

The only interaction MC has with a female of any substance is with Sue, another race driver. But this goes way overboard in the other direction. After only 5-min of interaction she starts unloading on him like he is her psychiatrist - jumping on him moments after. Her actions essentially nullifying the conversation that occurred only a moment prior.

Then we get to the whole racing aspect. MC is 20 years old, has dreams of being a race driver. Meanwhile, while he went to college for engineering but dropped out. Now jobless, has no assets, from a struggling lower class family. Yet somehow is able to get a bank loan to buy his own house?? And his only experience behind the wheel is borrowing his Mother's grocery-getter, or playing sims on a console. The best friend may be a mechanic but MC's knowledge of cars is "press pedal, go vroom". Story then proceeds with him winning his first night of races, on a car slapped together last minute on a tight budget he's never driven before prior.

Story for this VN is beyond full of holes - it's in outer space. Written in a vacuum of immersion that left me feeling depressed. Even if intended as just fap material I'd be hotter in a COLD shower.

Wow! This game is awesome! Epic music, killer vibes, lots of colors, great cars a great car story and hot HOT characters. I've been saying it for a long time, I want realistic bodies in video games or at least something that isn't insane. This game shows an unbelievable amount of promise. Also, I'm on version 0.18 and there is already an insane amount of content. It's been a long time since I was this pumped about a game

Nice game, looking forward for more content. The renders are decent, the story is ok, the choice are ok too they need a little bit more of work I think but I think the focus should be the renders, some of the renders look "weird" or """fake""" but I'm liking the game overall.

Fun release so far.
No choices, but that's ok. Interesting enough premise.
Interested to see where it goes from here.
