Ren'Py - The Headmaster [v0.16.4] [Altos and Herdone]

This is my second ever review as I am a typically selfish lurker. The Headmaster is in my top 5 games that I've played at F95 and I like to think of myself as the discerning sort, so in my opinion, this game is the equal of games like Good Girl Gone Bad, Summertime Saga, Harem Hotel etc, if not better in many respects.

There are some reviews which feel that the graphics are not upto snuff, and that's subjective, if you can't get over the art style that's perfectly fair. However, I thought the aesthetics were more than adequate, and that the facial expressions in combination with the sound effects and in particular the camera direction all make for an unusually polished game.

Polished. Clever. Erudite. Funny. Kinky. Engaging. Patient. And very rewarding. My congratulations and thanks to the devs, this is a landmark game.

I did not like it at all. It was boring on a whole other level. The graphics look really cheesy to be honest. Well but just because I didn't enjoy it it dosen't mean that it's bad. I mean look at the other reviews. The only thing that I kind of liked is the system hat the game is using.

This is some pure degenerate stuff. While it's not insane BDSM, it's enough to be fun and exciting.

I can see scope issues with this game in addition to having an overall score mechanic that may need balancing, if it wants to use it seriously that is.

Since there's so many characters, one needs to do all scenes with them. That's a lot of work, in addition to just advancing a character's story.

Then the score system is really grindy at first, leading into ezpz don't even think about it management.

overall, I'm giving it a 5 star just because I enjoyed what I played. I enjoy the writing. I've laughed at loud a few times to this game. It's not serious, and thank god for that.

As the title and overview suggest you take on the role of Headmaster at a school for girls who have failed to graduate. You take on the responsibility to whip these girls into shape to become productive members of society. Your research has shown that using a combination of good ol' fashion corporal punishment along with the power of porn-, er, "pleasure," bring about the best behavior changes.

The entire set up is a giant excuse to spank and rub on girls, but the game does an AMAZING job of making it believable within the context of the game, and selling you on the idea that MC really cares about doing it for the good of the girls more than his own pleasure (though he take great pride and pleasure in his work).

The writing is great. Each of the girls' stories are very unique and engaging, and finding out what makes them tick is joyous. The writing as well contains a great deal of humor. I can't remember the last H-game that made me laugh this much.

On a mechanics side, the ability to replay literally every scene in the game, even insignificant random encounter scenes is fantastic. And even more, the game has a built in cheat menu to help unlock different scenes and options you have have missed or chosen against the first time through. I've never seen a game commit so much to helping you find and review all its content, and it is truly appreciated.

It speaks volumes that I am not a fan of the whole pain in sex fetish, it's just not for me, but even with that being a core focus of this game, not only do I still love this game, but I cannot think of anything bad to say about it. This is a must play for H-game fans.

I'm a huge fan of honey select games ngl. But this game left me conflicted. Great writing, awesome characters, decent character progression, everything a perfect game need is here. Albeit I have only one bad point to complain about and that is number of sex scenes. I for one can't fap to the blowjob and other foreplays. I need real action which it's lacking.

As many said below, it is slow paced (Reminds me of midnight paradise). So dev is really taking his time. Hopefully the wait will worth it. May have to continue next year i think. Thank you anyway for sharing such a good game with us dev. Wish u good luck.

Great ideas.. Influence stat should be more detailed imho for better realism. Some short tips in which order gaining influence would be helpfull. Nevertheless superb game. Cheating red buton is fine but demo mode would be even better ( self playable demo until stats reach demanded levels )

This is my first review after being on this site for over half a year. Felt like I had to write one seeing that this is the BEST game I have played currently out of dozens of games that I've tried on this site.

The way you slowly & gradually corrupt the girls and try to get the staff onboard is amazingly well done, combined with solid writing and nice animations. All the girls are pretty in their own unique way and everyone has their own fully-fleshed out personalities & kinks/fetishes.

I actually consider becoming a patreon as this game completely blew my mind. Can't wait to see this game receive more updates in the future and also keep playing more after a good night's sleep! Already spent 5 hours or so and there is still more content to be "explored". Seems like there is enough content for those of you that likes to wait until a game is more fleshed out (I am one of those people, which also made me reluctant to try this).

Be aware that there is quite a lot of grinding in this game, however in my honest opinion it is well worth it! For those of you who wants to cut to the chase there is always cheats that you can use to unlock all the scenes immediately, however I am taking my time with this one as this game has such amazing gameplay that I believe that cheating is NOT worth it at all.

A very good stab at the porn teacher trope. With an ambitious setup and a professional work attitude the developers have already made one of the best porn games out there, and there is still much more to be expected. A wide variety of girls with actual personalities, a decent storyline with a no nonsense focus on arousal, a sandbox that keeps you engaged: there is a lot to love about this game. The biggest achievement is the balance between realism and fantasy that is held very skilfully throughout, allowing for a real sense of power which is the core of the trope.

Just a lot of fun to play.

Among all those adult games available on the internet, The Headmaster is the one that I love most.

The story is original; no cliche.
Female characters are all sexy and adorable.
Around 20(?) female characters in the game.
The developer releases new update regularly.

This is a masterpiece in the adult game genre.

This is a game I broke my "wait till after the 0.07(or after the seventh release) update" and tried early, and liked what I saw. I just finished the 0.11 version and while I like the mechanics and tone of the game, it does seem to have a little bit of scope creep. There's a lot of students in the game already, but I think more girls were added recently which adds more work and spreads the content thin. I really hope the dev just fleshes out the current story lines before adding any more. Overall I say this is worth your time and at least a try.

After thought: This is one of the few games that doesn't just use default RenPy buttons and layout and that really tickles my fancy.

The unique way you interact with each of the students and staff honestly surprised me. The dialogue and writing is actually good to make the gameplay enjoyable, while the art and animations are great and dispensed with in a reasonable pace. Though it's not fully developed yet, some of the choices also seem to hold promise for different branches and endings.

A very, very thoroughly designed game with great attention do detail.

A bit grindy if you want to see all the scenes or complete one of the main objectives.
A bit dated graphics do not spoil the experience.
A very wide range of girls to everyone's taste - both in terms of looks and personalities/kinks.
A lot of content available for a decent playtime even though some parts and paths are still under development.

As someone that has been playing adult/lewd games since the birth of the internet, 'The Headmaster' is easily the most creative, story-driven, and enjoyable one I've encountered. It's simple to play yet challenging enough to warrant a couple playthroughs to get all the scenes unlocked.
Normally I would minus a star(and a half?) for it being incomplete, but in this case the game is steadily receiving updates and the developer(s) seem to be really in-touch with their fans/players!

I will be watching for updates, it's great so far but it doesn't feel like the finish line is anywhere in sight as of now.

Masterpiece. Full of variety. All of the girls are beautiful. All have their own personalities and speech patterns. All have their own sexual psychology. The headmaster is a convincing character in his own right. The renders and beautiful. The animations are great. Masterpiece, masterpiece, masterpiece.

Hands down my favorite game on this site. every character has their own personality and issues that you "as a psychologist" helps with with , albeit via sexual punishments.. The art is average but the writing.. my god the writing is 10/10. half of the writing makes me laugh my ass off.. but in a good way. I can feel the writer is TRYING to make me laugh as apposed to your laughing because the writing is bad. The other half of the writing is like if there WAS a person who was trying to help women though issues via sexual punishments and was serious about helping them.. THIS is what that person would say. theres plenty to do in the game and several scores to keep track of but its pretty easy. I love how everytime i think i have a favorite girl.. the store goes into more depth on another one.. then i change my answer.

This game is very promising, looks like it could be a close to perfect harem builder in the future. The biggest downside are the previous generation (and dated) illusion graphics. Looking forward to updates because as things stand there are only very few sex scenes, but it appears as some could be added very soon.

Story very interesting. anyway, of the characters cards for the girls are taken from "playhome", I can send those that I "created". I am waiting continue.
