This review is for Part 1 of The Higher Society
The idea of using a secret society as the core concept for an adult game is a strong one and could have led to a genuinely interesting story. Unfortunately, that potential is completely wasted here. The plot is bland and uninteresting, and the cast is filled with bratty, annoying teenage characters pretending to be adults — especially the daughter. She is easily one of the worst characters I’ve seen in an AVN: obnoxious, painfully naïve, with zero self-awareness or common sense. To be fair, she plays the role of a clueless teenage girl perfectly, but that’s exactly the problem. If the characters had been written as more mature, actual adults, the secret society premise could have carried real weight. Instead, whenever actual adults appear, they’re mostly relegated to background noise and never contribute meaningfully to the story.
The game throws a large number of choices at you, but most of them are poorly designed. You’re often presented with basic “yes” or “no” decisions without enough context, making it unclear what outcome you’re even choosing. That alone is frustrating, but it gets worse when you realize that most choices don’t matter anyway. While a few decisions can trigger unexpected endings, the majority simply lock or unlock sex scenes, with very little narrative consequence attached to them.
Visually, the game feels dated. The renders are still serviceable, but repetition is constant, with the same images reused across multiple dialogue lines. Scene transitions feel amateurish, as if there’s no real continuity between days, hours, or even conversations. Animations are extremely basic — technically present, but they add nothing meaningful to the scenes. In some cases, lighting changes mid-animation, creating visual inconsistencies that further damage immersion.
Overall, this is a game with a strong concept that fails almost entirely in execution, held back by weak writing, irritating characters, shallow choices, and dated presentation.
