I hope you've had a good week.
I've mostly been busy working on the back-end of the game and getting things prepped for future content, but I've also made progress on part 4 itself.
Dev Report
- I spent a full week restructuring my outline to ensure the pregnancy content doesn't slow down development with a ridiculous amount of alternative renders (I'll explain this fully below). The work for this still isn't finished, so I'll finish it over the next two weeks.
- Day 38 is written and coded. I just have one scene that needs expanding.
- Day 39 is half written and coded.
- I've started rendering day 38.
- I've been listening to everyone's feedback after the last update and fixing the bug reports as they come in. This is mostly just spelling and grammar errors, duplicate/wrong code, etc.
- One person got stuck in the pleasure game with no way to end it. We figured out that if one particular choice is made as your 11th choice, the game won't jump to the end scene. I've fixed this, but it's such a rare bug to happen that I'm okay with leaving it in until the next update instead of creating a new version.
- I've also incorporated Tom Hook's Angela naming mod into the game after he got in touch with me. This improves the way the characters refer to Angela.
Pregnancy Content
As I said I would in the last dev report, I've spent about a week restructuring my outline to try and figure out the best way to include the pregnancy content without needing to do an insane number of alternative renders. However, I have worked out how I'm going to do the pregnancy content.
Pregnancy in the game will essentially be an on/off switch. It's the only feasible way not to do too many alt renders. But it would obviously make no sense to have the women you're not in a relationship with be pregnant, so I'm going to start dividing the content/interactions/stories more and cutting the women whose path you're not on from the game. So basically, if you're on their path, you'll see them, but if you aren't, you won't see them anymore. Some LIs like Grace and Sophie will still be in the game as they're important to the main plot, but this won't create too much extra work.
There was always a plan to have the MC move into a new house with his harem (the actual home of pleasure), so I've moved this event to earlier in the game when the pregnancy content properly kicks in. This way, the pregnancy on/off switch will work and development won't get slowed down by the pregnancy content too drastically.
However, some of the LIs will be more removed from the main group, so I'm going to include individual pregnancy switches where I can. I won't say which women this will happen with. I don't want to give spoilers for who stays separated from the main group, but let's just say, some LIs aren't as central to the plot, while others staying separated is part of the main plot. You'll understand what I mean by this at the end of ep 2 (the next release).
This way, I only have to do the main render and one alt render (for the most part) when pregnancy kicks in, instead of a ridiculous amount for every possible combination of pregnant women.
