And yes, I'm starting to hate the MC too. But I'm almost more pissy about Beth(&Sophie) than the faulty, inconsistent, moronic and naive reasoning of the MC - how we have to coddle and comfort Beth after her fuck up, and how Grace and the MC are made to be the bad guys there if they don't..

yeah, MC is completely unfit for anything illegal, because he is a retard. AS if the Gangsters want a corpse with a gunshot wound in their own shop on Main Street in the middle of the day? If they take Beth and MC to get physical, they have to get them out and come across Grace seeing them getting kidnapped.

They are in the Middle of a City not in the fucking Wild West.

Only a certified retard doesn't know that working for them is how you get really fucked.

Go to the police and explain what happened, then help them get the drugs, and you have more evidence than you will ever need.

I'm not exactly opposed to that genre and I don't think the dev's writing is altogether bad. At the same time though, this introduction to the crime and debauchery wasn't executed well.

Yeah reading how this is a gonna move towards a crime story or whatever not a fan of. I'm 2 updates behind but tbh I was digging this game as a Slice of life game. I'll still play even if I don't like that element just because I like certain characters.

The plan is for the MC to move into a big house with a (player determined) sizable harem. I think it’s fair to assume the MC benefits in the long run from his entry into the criminal world, unless he gets a significant raise at his job as a cinema manager.

Having him succeed in the criminal underworld is only a very slight improvement over what I've listed. I don't like one thing, and I don't like the other either. The only thing I'd really like is for the MC to ally himself with the police and destroy the organization from within. So unless that's the idea, I don't see any chance of continuing to play.

He does NOT have the temperament, the ruthlessness, nor the notoriety necessary to survive the criminal world. Realistically, he would be a lamb led to the slaughter, and Beth would be sold into prostitution.

I didn't notice it was going to shift into a "crime" (term used loosely after the ..... attempt ..... at a blackmail plot) and was enjoying the slice of life stuff.

That being said, to pull off a good crime story it needs to be well written and clever or it ends up like, well, the blackmail plot of this.

The main issue here is people were enjoying the game, people also enjoy a good story, quite a few people here also happen to enjoy a good crime story.

The issue in question being the crime side, so far, hasn't landed. Considering the only problem being voiced seems to be that blackmail plot and there is going to be more of that kind of thing in the future ....... Well, it was a good start at least.

Now this blackmail shit comes on, and the Dev tells us that it will get worse, with people led to a life of crime unwillingly.

What a way to kill a good game. Ah well... As Avaron1974 said, it was a good start.
