VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - The Inheritance [v0.04] [mannitt]

Such a disappointment.

The game spends WAY too much time just having the MC overthink things. I often imagine alternate dialogue, choices, scenes in my head while playing. That was the only way that I managed to get through this one.

The 0.04 version ends before you really find out much. The mom is away for 3 weeks, so nearly no interaction once you learn her 1st "reveal." And you either can, or can choose to postpone revealing the video to your oldest sister. If so, you get some background info about your parents, but not much.

Your younger sister (20) and her friend (18) are both hot for you, but you never do anything about it except keep complaining to yourself "how wrong" it is to entertain fantasies about them, and continually try and convince yourself that "you shouldn't be having those sorts of thoughts."

Your female best friend tries to throw herself at you, and she is super hot, but you don't even have the option of agreeing or giving in to her provocations and innuendo. You just keep trying to talk her and yourself out of "anything more."

Your older sister might even proposition you at the lunch table, but you just pretend shock and misunderstanding. She berates you for being a prude, and you just take it like a cuck.

You also watch an amateur porn of your mom being gangbanged by a bunch of rude and violent thugs that intentionally try to hurt her. And she gets off on the humiliation while your dad is in the background directing the scene. You jerk off to 3 strangers cumming all over your mom's face in bukake and it makes you strongly cum. Then you fantasize about fucking your mom and any other LIs that you've chosen in options so far.

I'd personally rather have seen a "Last Testament" video of dad explaining "the Family Business" and that your family is your harem to do whatever you want. Then just several scenes of fucking them in different scenes/scenarios in differently themed situations. A BDSM room for Tiffany, a nursery or toy room for younger sister Steph, a church-themed room for Melonie. etc.

One big mediocre game. Everything is mediocre here, the renders are mediocre, so are the characters and the story is nothing special and a little ridiculous in my opinion. The conversations are too long and mostly redundant and far too prolonged. Especially when you download a game bigger than 2GB and you just get 3 sex scenes ! For a game that has been being developed for about two years I expected much better story and a lot more sex scenes. I think 3 stars is a more than generous rating. Good luck to the developer.

There few games I wish hadn't played and unfortunately it's one of them. The premise looked interesting but got disappointing as further progressed.
There are almost no choices.
Incest is fully forced. Most people don't like forced sex/romance.
Your mother gets gangbanged and your your sister is prostitution. And most fucked up part is MC likes being cuckold. This is some fucked up fantasy.
This game is a big disappointment.

I quite enjoyed this game so far, beware if you haven't played it it's heavily story based with few sex scenes. I wasn't really looking for this type of game but it was a very pleasant surprise i will keep my eyes on this one.

Just finished playing through 0.3, and I'm both impressed and disappointed. It felt like it ran out way too quickly.

pros:
+ lots of story/diologue
+ it's a relatively interesting plot so far
+ great renders

cons:
- too much inner monologue/MC over thinking things
- not enough interaction with the story
- not enough intentional interaction with the love interests

to sum things up, there's a really good start here, and the renders included are good quality. However, the sex scenes so far are too impersonal, and there is waaayy too much text explaining the MC's thoughts to no real benefit.

This game is really good. I'm glad I found it. The only issue thus far is just the inner monologue is way too much. Like a minute of reading monologue in the middle of a conversation is wayyyy too much.

Other than that, the characters seem decent albeit everyone seems to be acting strange. The renders are good for the most part and I can't wait to see more from this game.

I finally had some time to really sit down and play this gem....

The women are really hot and definitely not your normal looking type as seen in many VN's. They are all not standard DAZ models and the dev made sure they look uniquely different. Steph and Michiko my favorites.

Character build is paramount in The Inheritence and the story although only starting to take shape I can see it will be very captivating. I can see all kind of strange fetishes developing as we play the game.

The only reason I give this 4/5 is I feel some of the scenes have too much text, I get that characters needs to be developed but for me it's takes a bit too long and a lot of text. There's a lot too read which can lead one to skip a few scenes.

Otherwise awesome job dev and I look forward to playing more of it...

The worse game I've played in a very long time!!!!
The gui on Ren'Py is simply stock so not much on dev. skills.
English is ok but the story is awful, the writer rambles endlessly and if you're like me you'll end up not reading the useless texts between clicks.
The models looked like V4 or older with bad overlaying in Ren'Py.
The first sex scene was the MC watching a video After that video scene I couldn't take any more and deleted the game.
It's missing a few tags, group sex, etc... from the video or at least a warning or option to not see it. It was nasty.

Ok, this game has me very interested, and a little worried. I'm giving it a 4 right now, and am hoping it pans out to the truly great VN it seems it can easily be.
I'm still confused by the character status sheet, as it seems to imply/indicate that only the sisters, the hot asian chick friend, and the moocher friend of younger sister are available for fun. Notably missing off the character sheet is the crazy hot somewhat thicc blonde uber milf mom, and the cuties in the diner. So not sure what is up there, but I am seriously hoping the MC will not be limited to those currently in the pop up character status window. If so, it would be an epic fail.
I was a bit frustrated that the skip function advanced so slowly when trying to check out scenes from different choices.
And while I really like the build up of the characters with detail and dialogue, I'm still feeling like it is moving just a tad slow. Jury is still out on this though, and I'm hoping the pace picks up as we get further along.
Art work...flashes of brilliance imo. The animations are excellent. The MC's long time best friend is a smoking hot asian babe. Superb. The MCs mom is also fantastic! MCs older sister is very good to great. And the gals in the diner were quite hot. The younger sister art...I do not care for. Not ugly, just...well, strange looking. Something about her face seems very unfeminine. And her friend who is bumming a place to stay is better, but still not top tier to my eyes.
I immediately disliked the MCs friend. I am hoping his sister comes into play, preferrably in front of the ultra annoying friend causing Marcel to exit the scene/game permanently. Everything about Marcel was off the charts annoying.
As for the MC, perhaps more details will explain his wimpiness, but I SERIOUSLY hope he snaps out of it soon and does what 99.99999 percent of all young straight males in his situation would do.
So, despite my reservations on this one, I found myself hooked. And hoping for more soon. And really hoping it turns out as great as it seems it will.

I don't often leave reviews but this game has potential albeit wasted here.
Visually the game looks fine.
This is not as of this version a visual novel it is more of a kinetic novel. There are relatively few choices and the MC does not really have a personality as much as other characters talk the MC agrees and the scene continues with unnecessary dialogue. Which leads me to my second point dialogue, I found I could not invest in the characters and story because of the constant run-on sentences and caught myself fast-forwarding just to keep boredom away. This is a linear kinetic novel you will experience the same game as everyone else while reading dialogue that characters repeat. Again because the player is given so little influence and the MC's lack of any form of spine make it hard to get any kind of immersion.
At the end this needs to:
Make the dialogue efficient, as Monty Python would say "Get on with it."
CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES.

I really want to like this game but needs improvements.
That's my 2 cents.

The writting is the best in the game so far, althought it's too early to say it seems really good at the dialogs. Also there's some of the best comedy i've seen in any game of this kind. The art is not the best but it does an okey job, i think it could be improved at least the lighting. Pretty good so far v.0.03

First time trying "The Inheritance" and i can say i got positively sourprised!

This game has a very interesting story, in my opinion this one feels quite well written.
The characters are well presented and developed, i really find some of them quite charismatic ^^

One of the most funny and original games that i had the pleasure to play in the last weeks.

Version .02R

This game has the chance to become something amazing. The renders are good and the story is interesting so far. Some of the reviews mentioned bad English, but I didn't notice any that disrupted my ability to follow the story. Mostly a few typos here and there. Perhaps that was for an earlier version. Some of the story beats were fairly predictable, but everything is played in a believable way. For his version, there's very little sex and a lot of reading. This is a very story heavy game, but the story is interesting, though the dialogue can be a bit repetitive at times. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where this game goes.

Man thats what I call reading,I believe I haven't read so much since reading the Dracula novel in my youth.
Caught myself a couple of times fast forwarding,which I then regretted and went back to where I started,because the Story was so Interesting that I was afraid of missing something.

Worth the Download

The english is bad(i'm not a native speaker myself but at some points i totally was't able to understand what the dev tried to say, even with the help of google translate) and so is the game engine choise(transition between scenes/loading the save game that can take up to a few minutes - is really something!), but it's kinda unterstandable. Liked the charachters(mostly Stephanie, Tiffany, and their relative) and some of renders with them(Steph is stunning), the story also keeps me intrested So in summary it's rather good one, if: 1) you're intrested in story more than in renders 2) can stand bad english and laggy game engine.

I am not a big fan of the girls. The young girls look a bit to old - and the mother looks quite young compared to them. Especially the younger sister looks more like a mid twenty on crack for some years. Not really healthy and fit. From the older one we haven't seen much but she seems to look ok for her teased lifestyle. Michiko is fine I guess - varies a bit form scene to scene.
And I would prefer more choices. They dont all have to have impact on the stats for the girls - but I think some pure cosmetic choices would be good. (when they do make a difference, even better ^^)

Then there is the amount of text - I think it is to much. Many things are repeated several times, e.g. when they constantly mention their pact. This is pure exposition for the reader, they both know what it is about. We need the info, but it doesn't have to be mentioned several times in several scenes. Also, there is a lot of gibberish, which in most cases doesn't really contribute to character building.
I'm happy when a game has not only lyrics like >He was horny and his cock became hard as stone and moaned: "Let's fuck, bitch!", to which she could only answer with a moaning.< - but here it feels to much for the little we really get to know.
I think that can be streamlined a bit and then just add some of the above mentioned cosmetic choices to increase interactivity. It is ok to add something like that to just alter some texts and dont impact the gameplay. That's how most of the Telltale games work ^^.

Last bit ... can we maybe get the chance to change the font? I prefer sans-serif fonts and find this hard to read ... but at least it is not comic sans

Edit: Just forgot to complain about the engine, but I think that is something we have to endure. There are worse out there, but the long loading times between scene changes suck - and no that shouldn't be a problem with my pc. there is enough power for this ^^

But that are just my 2 cents. And I will keep an eye on the game, bc I love corruption games (best without mindcontrol or magic stuff) and the story seems to be interesting enough

And don't misunderstand me, because I mainly criticize the game. I wouldn't bother writing so much when I weren't interested in the game and had some fun.

The Inheritance 0.02 + Patch RENPY review.

First of all, this is the review for the patched release.

I originally gave this a 4 star, as the VNM engine I felt really held the game back, due to occasionally slowing down and un-smoothness and similar. It was in no way shape or form unplayable, but it was taking away from the pleasure and ability to fully immerse yourself.

Ever since then, the developer boldly decided to swap the engine and the whole game to Ren'Py, and the new star rating reflects the change. Gone are the issues the old engine had, and the game is even a bit better optimized, the text is trimmed and the effects are a step up from the original one as well. So definitely deserving a change in rating.

New rating: 5 stars.

Story:
The story is interesting and captivating, and once MC finds out that certain tape inside a certain room, the story hits a really specific turf and it can really surprise the player. From there onwards it's a rollercoaster, although for some people, the start will feel a bit slow. It's worth putting in a bit more time to get to where the story picks up.

Or renders, as we all like to call them - plenty of really cool ones in this title, plenty for everybody's taste, too. While I'm not a personal fan of sprites, they certainly have their place and they have been implemented correctly in this one. The models look very original, and there's a healthy variety between them. The full size renders themselves are high quality, distinctive tones, and captivate a certain feeling and setting set up by the scene. They follow the story nicely. This game isn't one of those that use super unnatural facial expressions, most of the times they're subtle, and add to the experience.


Overall:
Well worth the wait for the updates, the game is getting better by each release, and the content spans a healthy span of tastes and kinks to capture everyone's attention for sure.

so far so good in more you pick what you do but i sure more picking will come later right not you mostly talk because you getting know the people and player so i hope the update not to long of a wait looking to it
