The irony of website requests to allow ads

I don't know about you all, but I get a lot of requests to allow ads because I'm using some sort of antivirus, ad blocker, privacy screener, etc. that doesn't play nice with various websites. And, while I definitely want to support those sites I'm more inclined to do so with a donation or sub or whatever.

What I am not inclined to do is remove my protections, and it's ironic because the only reason I have them is because far too few websites over the last 25+ years actually cared to make sure that their ads weren't invasive or outright malicious or dangerous. So now these sites are begging me or trying to force me to allow ads, but it's the bed that they made to begin with.

Not really relevant to F95zone, but every time I go to a download link for an eroge and they ask me to remove my protections, I feel bad -- I want them to make money -- but not worth the risk, you know?

Most of the big file hosts make a decent amount of money. Ironic you would feel bad about the file hosts while pirating software lmao. Jokes aside, just use the ones that don't run ads... problem solved.
