I think its time I find another card payment company.
That's the problem, all card companies RELY on Visa and Mastercard, they are not just card, they actually own the system on which different cards and banks run on.

-------------------------------------------

About the whole Visa/ Mastercard/ Collective Shout/ Steam/ Itchio thing, and making political comments here...

Yeah, this is not the right place, even more, I think there could be an actual F95Zone thread about the topic already, so everyone can be in the same page.
Now... and I will type all of this very carefully as a form of actual statement coming from me, and avoid political talk.
EVERYTHING nowadays has a political start point, or goal, we like it or not, how much we let that affect us (personally) is not for this thread, but I guess that everything else kinda makes sense at some point.

I mean, everyone here has at least one favorite game that got kicked out of Patreon or similar, or had to auto-censor for it or steam (sister => step-sister, no animal genitals, no mind control kink, banned Mega accounts, heck, even the existence of etc etc...) ALL of this is part of the same issue: Visa and Mastercard dictating storefronts what to allow or not in their websites.

We already know that this group, Collective Shout, are against a lot of games, not just NSFW, they are going to go against Detroit: Become Human, GTA6, and more. . There are more to them, like actually endorsing Cuties , but the thing is, again, Collective Shout isn't the problem, this has been existed since ages.
Sometimes it just that Dungeon & Dragons is satanic, then Mortal Kombat makes you a murderer, then GTA makes you a criminal, then Call of Duty turns you into a murderer too, then loli games, incest games, manga, anime... if they continue like, and success, their next targets will be LGBT games, "gooner bait" games (Bayonetta, Stellar Blade, etc), any game where you can hurt female NPCs, series, animes, movies...

Collective Shout isn't the 1st group doing this, and will not be the last one, also, the main reason on why they succeeded with Steam and Itchio, is because Visa and Mastercard actually agree, so it's just a matter of time until they start de-platforming the most random games and media in general you can think, from Baldurs Gate 3 because it "has zoophilia and gays" or Balatro because it "promotes gambling" or some insane shit.

This is not a slippery slope at this point, this is a broken rollercoaster in free fall, this HAS to be stopped now, or it will be impossible to stop later.

Maria is more than just window dressing for the chapter, I'll just say that ;-)

As for the Casagrandes and a certain artistic mother who'd probably want to thank Lincoln too.

We do have plans for Ronnie and the Casagrandes to be available as the story progresses.

Of course by this point we'll hopefully have the open world version of the game running smoothly so those not interested in the Ronnie Harem don't have to interact with them.

While at the same token, having them Available for those who DO want to keep doing things with them.

Tentative plans are for them to play a significant role in Leni's storyline as well.
i myself dont like ronnie harem and all haha. i more invested to the Loud Sisters haha

True, but the biggest thing we have in our favor in the age of technology, is that awareness of stuff like this spreads quick, and given the fatigue over behavior like this, we have the benefit of a much stronger pushback. As much as this sucks, it may ultimately be a blessing that may bring down the regulations the Duopoly of Visa and Mastercard has had a long time coming.

I'm trying to think of the best way to say this. The problem with banning anything, not just games, is it's only going to make the people that are interested and even some that aren't necessarily, seek other ways to find said banned things. I'm not trying to say that it will turn people into criminals but, it is going to make the banned thing even more desirable. A complete ban is not and has never been the answer. Do I know what it is? Not really but, I know that things need to change.

So yehah, the only thing we (Cathornero Games and the players) can do, is continue making the game, and encouraging people to check the news section in the game and user our website that right now comes so handy.
>Search results for query: crypto
>No results found.

Since it appears this topic has not be addressed, may I ask why not offer crypto as an support option, especially Monero (XMR)? It is my understanding that XMR has two compelling advantages over other currencies:

1) Easy self-hosted wallets: For people who don't want to provide their personal information to websites like Coinbase or Kraken (for the same reason they may not want to use their credit/debit card)

2) Transaction mixing: Each time you buy something with Monero, your funds are put into a "pile" with other funds, which solves the problem of public blockchain logs being used to try and identify people

Maybe put out a call for someone knowledgable to write a step-by-step XMR payment guide, which you could then link on your website and put in the game's credits. There are many ways to obtain XMR with varying degrees of convenience (Kraken) vs anonymity (cash Bitcoin ATMs). Crypto is certainly not as convenient as credit/debit card payments, but at least you can't be deplatformed from it.

Banning things also make things easier to be found by the wrong people, for example, minors.
Mainstream storefronts (Steam, Epic, and even platforms like Patreon or Fanbox) do their best to hide adult content from minors, without needing to scan your face (for now) but... if people have to make their own niche platforms or websites, or rely on shady 3rd party ones, the risk of minors seeing prohibited content goes up, because nobody takes care of what it's being shown.
I found my game uploaded to many shady 3rd party reupload sites that have absolutely no filters, and mix NSFW and normal SFW mobile games like it's nothing. Imagine if THAT becomes the 1st result in google when looking for "cartoon loud house game" or something like that.
If my game is supposed to appear, I prefer it to be on a website dedicated to adult content, with proper +18 labels, and included in filters to protect children that their parents can set up.

I would like to use other examples, but I guess that would be touching politics topics that are not for this thread, we are deviating to "Making things illegal" topic instead of maintaining on "Censorship doesn't work"

Yeah, I never used any of them, I will be honest, I don't know shit lol.
Is it possible to know "who is who"? I mean, I would need to know if someone is supporting us so we can give them access to the game and such.
Self-hosted means I have to keep my computer on? (probably a stupid question, I'm THAT dumb lol)

I'm certainly no expert, but I once found a guide on how to setup a Monero wallet so I could help somene transfer funds internationally. It was a very easy process, which surprised me in the whole "if I can do it, anyone can" kind of way. I'm sure there are plenty of excellent guides on Reddit and so forth.

Is it possible to know "who is who"? I mean, I would need to know if someone is supporting us so we can give them access to the game and such.
Yes, wallet addresses are unique and cryptographically secure. Someone is able to provide the private proof of payment which you can verify by using the public blockchain details to confirm they were the sender and how much. If crypto is legal where you are, you can also just use a crypto payment service that manages everything for you by linking payments to an email address the way PayPal does for credit card payments.

Self-hosted means I have to keep my computer on? (probably a stupid question, I'm THAT dumb lol)
No, it's not an always-on service like webhosting. Self-hosted wallets are like having a pile of cash in your home instead of money in a bank account. Cash can't be "canceled" the way a bank (or credit card company) can decide to stop doing business with you. But self-hosted wallets can be risky for newcomers, because if you lose/forget your password it's like you buried the cash while blindfolded and now you've lost it.

EDIT: I think centralized exchanges that do all the heavy lifting for you would be the best approach, even if they are less privacy-oriented than self-hosted options. I DM'd you with some specific info that may help give you a good starting point

To put this all into perspective, Elon Musk has been trying to set up his own alternative payment processor for the last 20 years and is basically making very little progress.

In that time he's been launching space ships for the U.S government and setting up Star Link to get wifi for the entire world..

But, Visa and Mastercard have such a stranglehold over the industry they're preventing any competitors from entering the market, even the world's richest man.

But as it's been pointed out, this is starting to get public attention. The US has an anti-Debanking bill that was introduced this year, and Japan is putting official sanctions on Visa for interfering with their economy.

The other thing is, there's nothing consumer wise on our end, any of us can do. You can't NOT use Visa and Mastercard. They control pretty much 90% of all payment processing in the world, and the three other smaller competitors like Discover, do just do everything Visa and Mastercard do.

They have an effective stranglehold on how money is moved. Which is why this is one of the cases where government HAS to get involved to solve the issue.

I've got no interest in us accepting Crypto. I'm a working guy with a family. I need actual money I can use for groceries, bills and things like that.

Not pretend money that's value goes up and down and might be worth millions if I hold on to it just long enough and trade it at the right time.

It's just not practical for me.

I think if an payment system like PIX but globally was created, it could work.
I just read up on Pix and yeah that's a pretty awesome payment system that cuts out the middle man.

Wide scale adoption would probably be difficult because Visa and Mastercard would put up so many roadblocks to try and prevent it.

Discover just got bought out and American Express engages in the exact same censorship as Visa and MasterCard, as they did with DLSite.

It doesn't help that the United States government is currently crusading against PIX and currently "investigating" them via probe, obviously due to the perceived persecution of Bolsonaro and American companies in Brazil.

Or, say, you accidentally the hard drive containing the private key to your wallet because, while knowing that you have this drive, you're pretty sure it's not the one you're throwing away and you decide it would just be too much trouble to check first.

Yep, that's the trade off:

1) Have someone else manage your funds but risk having them blocked for aribtrary content policy reasons, or

2) Hold your funds yourself but carry the responsibility for making sure you don't throw them away lol
