The Modest Handmaid’s Sex Work is a truly unique VN, and that's more than enough to create value and deserve a recommendation. All you have to do is think about classifications, and the idea that this fits nowhere should surface quickly. It's a title where you have 2 heroines, one providing platonic love for the most part, while the other oversees more earthly affairs (sex). You could also dwell on this distinction, and realize that the one with the greatest importance is completely subjective, but it's not that kind of VN, and you wouldn't be reinventing the wheel.
Read it, because it's one of a kind.
Positive:
- It's the idea for the scenario itself - It's not infidelity or something to be marked as similar; It's not focused on Netorase (there's an ending), and the male POV gets in the way; It's not love triangle as you normally understand it, there's a smidge of drama; It could be Netori if you look at it a certain (controverted) way, and the endings allowed for it, but no such luck; There's no real netorare fetish...
Main issue is male POV. If one of the girls was the protagonist, a lot of the above could apply. My take on it: Fantasy with a wife and concubine (or mistress) together.
Negative:
- Endings are simplistic, there was room for originality; Constant changes between ADV and NVL are annoying; They aren't going for deceit or heavy feelings, which is fine, but restricting; And the H-scenes have little going for them, if we exclude the "main" girl watching.
Score: 6.5/10. It's still a discount VN, and a rare gem at the same time. Rarity is another form of reward when it comes to VNs, it's a question of scarcity and (personal) cognitive bias. If you accept that, then this is highly recommended, and another (Appetite) VN that should be prioritized, if you have an interest on it.
