VN - Ren'Py - The Name Between Us [v0.2.7] [VelvetChainsStudio]

v0.2.7 An interesting start which has the potential to go in lots of different directions but is it enjoyable? It feels more of a game rather than a novel with the text written in a clipped, quite dry style. There are lots of choices, perhaps too many, as it does interrupt the flow of the story. It's more like a puzzle to be solved, such as an escape room rather than a fun relaxing read. I think this will need a built in walkthrough as it goes on if it continues in the same style, to give the option to make it more pleasurable to a reader. The art is ok rather than outstanding, as are the animations, which seem quite short. Aeris in particular seems an interesting, well rounded character. Hopefully others will be developed as well, as we go on.

Very promising game I'd say, the writing is good, the characters have good designs and are beautiful.
I didn't explore all the paths yet but your choices seems to matter in this game and not only with 2 routes sub/dom like in some games.
I can't wait for future updates !

promising game. game takes itself seriously and the girls act serious too talking about managing estates plots and manipulation with no engrish. the art for the girls and the backgrounds blend together well.


Game is more focused on telling its story rather than playing a management game or having smut or building romance so if thats not what you want from this game then I suggest looking for another game.

I enjoy games like these so I hope the game gets developed to completion

This is a very promising start. Honestly one of the few games actually promising an exiting and well-planned storyline and not just an excuse for sex scenes. Also renders are beautiful and what there is yet of sex scenes is looking good, too.
The characters are interesing, too, sexy (Aeris in particular) but apparently capable and independent, hopefully it stays that way and develops on it. I'll certainly be observing the progress of this one closely.

My only small grievance is that the writing feels somewhat stilted(?), probably in an honorable attempt to refelct the atmospere, but a bit overdone for my taste.
Also, Yssa does seem a bit cartoonish compared to the general style. Might be the hairstyle. But it's no big issue.

It's definitely in it's early phases, but for what is there, it looks very promising. It has an interesting story with characters that all feel like they have hidden or unexplored depth. There is an underlying feel of tension even in the way it was written, and the story and artwork are both excellent.

I'm hoping to see more from this game in the future.

First the bad:

It is short. This felt more like a demo than a game at this point.

The Good:

Woah - this is well put together. The two main women are hot and we already got some well-done scenes. The care in terms of story as well as good English and grammar are welcome changes from a lot of the slop that gets put out.

I didn't encounter nay bugs or errors.

Potential plot has a lot of possibilities and I'm looking forward to more!
