What is this developer's problem? You must be registered to see the links
a severe attention span problem. Will start developing a game, get to ~v0.04 or so, then start developing another game and then abandon the current game or rush the ending to be "complete".What is this developer's problem?
No problem at all, game was not selling well so I decided to finish it.What is this developer's problem?
'The (unfinished) game was not selling well so I decided to (abandon) finish it.'
I just came up with that, by the way. Think it's pretty sweet.... grasping at straws like you're owed turtles...
Good, keep me posted.'The (unfinished) game was not selling well so I decided to (abandon) finish it.'
Strangely, what you want or expect is the return on a complete game, but with an incomplete game.
Here's an idea: finish your projects, broke-ass. If you really want to 'make' games for profit, release them when they're complete. You're not 'making' shit. You're abandoning projects, and then grasping at straws like you're owed turtles to call it anything but abandoned for the sake of seeming half-competent. You're just inept.
And by the way, all you had to say was that your motives were profit-driven. I didn't need that extra 'we're not a charity' drivel. Learn to talk like a man.
Cope.Good, keep me posted.
Game is 1.0 and finished (although rushed, I admit) on Steam.Game's been in dev since 2023 and only 6% done? What, are they gonna slap a 94% discount on it in Steam?
I don't think you understand how our company works.ahh the new generation, and how something should be sold before its finished, and if it's not selling well just quit and start something new. Gone are the days of quality and commitment to it.
N before you post a reply to comment, don't. nothing needs saying to the very obvious. It may be done, you get a cookie, its quality is sub-par and lacks innovation or imagination. The art is decent tell your artist or AI programmer they did a good job. but whoever did the concept design and writing, should get at the very least basic knowledge of what their job entails.
I mean, if you are buying early access games, it's always a risk. If you are not comfortable, you should not buy early access titles and wait for the finished product.Damn, all of these start out good, then we are let down on every one so farNot even going to try the new one. Been burned to many times
Do you perhaps think that these games are not as financially viable because you keep rushing and abandoning games and have not built any trust with the people youre trying to sell your games to?I don't think you understand how our company works.
I can't afford to keep paying my artist 1000$ per month if the game is making 200$. Am I supposed to pay to make games?
I have a family to feed. This is not some hobby, it's my job.
I tried to do the best I could with my limited funds.
My mistake was letting the game story grow too big.
Yeah, every single game that is not financially viable will be quickly finished so we can move on to something that sells better.
Nah, I have other games like Family Breeding that has been a success in early access, and it still keeps making me money now. This game has been a failure from the beginning, never gaining traction. You don't know the numbers, so don't talk about what you don't know.Do you perhaps think that these games are not as financially viable because you keep rushing and abandoning games and have not built any trust with the people youre trying to sell your games to?
All they see is a dev that tries to get people excited about a new game, make money from the initial concept and then abandon it before there is any serious content........unless.....thats the idea....
Except that you've burned your reputation. I'm sure as hell not going to give you money again after getting burned already. You've revealed yourself to be a scammer.Yeah, every single game that is not financially viable will be quickly finished so we can move on to something that sells better.
How exactly am I a scammer?Except that you've burned your reputation. I'm sure as hell not going to give you money again after getting burned already. You've revealed yourself to be a scammer.
YES! It's called INVESTMENT! It costs money to make games, which you then recoup when they are finished and people buy them. You're a scammer because you drum up hype about games that you never finish by your own admission. How exactly am I a scammer?
What am I supposed to do? Keep paying the artists from my own pocket so I can finish the game?
