To be pedantic, I will say it again. Unclear and unknown have two very different meanings and connotations. Saying it is unclear suggests (especially to someone new here) that there is information, of which there is not.
To be pedantic, I said:
It's implied that their "history" includes the whole of it, and not just a part. We know they had contact of some form with the Alfar in the past. We know they closed off their realm millennia ago for reasons unspecified. We know there hasn't been open contact with the Alfar since then. At least, if we take Finn and Medb at their word, and trust they're knowledgeable about it.
Probably not entirely correct, since the plot progresses almost the same way if you kill Finn.
Let's see, Ceolag gave us the weekly numbers. By my math he's now averaging roughly 28.3 static renders, 0.0 animations and 112 lines per week since work on Chapter 6 began. Here are the charts:
Yeah, I had this thought as well. From a dev standpoint, having both death methods have similar results does make the most sense in having limited story divergence. If they wanted, they could make that a significant branch though, even more than it already is in. I don't think it's super likely, but mentioned it's a possibility that could make sense.
From Ceolag's description, this will be a purely linear story. The choices merely add flavour to the path.
As long as the story is good I'm fine with linear stories. I would imagine there is at least 5 endings, the 4 LIs and a solo choice. I'll be playing them all in this one. I don't know if an early death ending would really add to the story. What could be interesting is the MC walking away and tell everyone to go fuck themselves and what happens in the game world without the MCs involvement. That could be interesting.
Having a good epilogue with a specific LI would be a great way to end the game, smth like Fetish locator where each girl gets a very specific epilogue is awesome.

Is the LI epilogue going to be the same chapter as the end of main story? Or will there be a separate chapter containing the epilogues for LI's?Maybe to clear things up a little:
The main story will have a set ending. Your choices influence how to get there (the Chapter 5 decision for example) and the ending itself to some degree. For example: If I blow up Earth at the end of the game, your choices will influence if you can save 100% of the Humans and all fly to Alpha Centauri, 50%, or none. But Earth will be gone anyway.
The LI paths will all have a separate epilogue, some even more than one, depending on your decisions.
At least, that's the plan for now. That might change a little in the future depending on how development goes etc.
