How do you win the game at the bar (the one you are asked if you want to play before you can buy drinks), or the game at the restaurant tournament (its the same game as the one at the bar)?

I imagine we need to clear the entire board by somehow match all the pieces, but I always run out of time before half the board is emptied. Tips? Tricks? Hints?

You don't need to clear entire board, i think it's about clearing 70-80%, you need to be lucky to get a nice generation, you need to just speed mash any combination you see that may remove most pieces. And you do all of that for a little discount. After doing it multiple times i managed to clear it only two or three times.
