How do you want the Protagonist to look and why?

Do you want a fleshed out character design fitting the story or are you fan of the floating magic dick?

Prefer the hoodet stranger over the blank teenage boy?

I for example like basic and not over the top designs. Im a normal guy and feel silly empathising with a Kratos like character.

I don't self-insert, so I always prefer playing characters that fit the world/narrative over a blank slate. I find it to always make the story more coherent. Basically, Geralt of Rivia over the Dragonborn.

I like the simple protagonist to self insert. I enjoy doing that personally. I don't mind the protagonist that's designed for the world but I just prefer more a self insert type.

I just want the male protagonist to be 25% larger than the girls as a safeguard against the possibility of having to play as a cry baby noodle armed weakling.

A lot of my logic regarding "worthiness" is dependent on physical/athletic attributes, that's what I like aesthetically and appreciate.

I've never really been on a sports team but I'd prefer to play as someone like that rather than someone who attends the Go-Home-Early club, I don't like viewing people who lack motivation and have nothing recognizably good about them.

There needs to be some reason for the girl's attraction to the MC, even if it's something that I don't know about or care about in the slightest, like fashion, that'd be a good enough albeit shallow reason for her to fall irrationally in love.

Only exception is when it comes to muscular amazon women, even so I'd like the man to be respectable, such as having a stoic masculine character.

I like the look of the MC from Pale Carnation. An ordinary young guy with glasses is slim. Although, in real life I don't wear glasses and I'm not as smart as him :)

At the very least give the boys some eyes.

I never even understood the logic behind that. Like, okay, Link is a pretty classic blank slate protagonist, right? Most people can put themselves in his shoes just fine and he has a distinct and memorable design. Hiding their face or taking away their eyes seems like a solution to a problem that nobody had.

As long as it's not some prepubescent looking kid who you swear "is totally over 18" then I don't mind so much.
Oh and don't try to recreate some kind of square jawed super chad meme.

But more important than that, give them some self respect and a damn spine. They don't need to be agressive or violent, they just need to have enough self respect to stand up for themselves and not tolerate being around cunts.

Oh and give em a decent but realisticly sized dick. 6 inches is fine.

There are two types of good protagonists in my opinion: The "average common denominator" and the "power fantasy".

Average common denominator: An average looking character that is not ugly. Easy for most people to self insert into. Their looks don't matter for the story and are rarely mentioned.

Power fantasy: A realistically strong character who is good looking. I think this kind of character is the best for games where the protagonist has a harem of women fawning over him. As having that happen to Generic McGenericface is a total imersion breaker for me. I also prefer this type for games where the protagonist's face needs to show a lot, though I prefer POV scenes most of the time.

My type of protagonist is the strong silent badass type preferably faceless or wearing full armor with helmet, like the ascendent lord from ESO.

Imo a silent guy in helmet like that should be much easier for anyone to relate, self-insert as he could be anyone under the helmet, rather than the typical young guy with a set face, set hair style, often default way of speaking and behaviour that in most cases i can't relate to.
