VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - The Second Half [v0.2.5] [OlecramID]

Story is fine, and the models are above average (even though it was.. An interesting design choice for the lawyer )

Had that been all I would have given it 4 stars.

Sadly this game is riddled with spelling- and grammatical errors.

Also it's abandoned and left unfinished, like so many titles suffering the same fate on F95...

The story is excellent! The models are excellent! The characters are very deep and different. MC is not "typical 18yo obsessed with sex". Too bad that the game is abandoned. I hope the Dev is doing ok and will come back

Good game, good renders decent story so far.

Good thing about the game os MC is not a pervert. He is a middle aged guy with good manners. A good human being indeed. Game is going on harem path. The blonde girl Rachel was nice. Currently there are 5 girls in the game. Among them MC only met two of them. But all the girls was half of the MC's age. Dev in the next updates please add a pretty woman who is par with MC's age.

Overall game is good. Good renders. Worth playing. Looking forward to next updates

Really really good so far... its just a "start" but one of the best i ever saw around here.

Really interesting characters not just made up girls for the sex. Real storys that are drawing you in.

The MC is not the average porn guy, its a humble man in his 40ties (and is looking like that too) who decided to let the miodlife crisis pass and try to turn his life around... only thing i dont like, its of course again a guy without any money issues, but i get it... it makes it easier to get him like that "on the road"

Hopefully not every girl in the story will be a very young girl... could do with a lady about his age too i think.

Overall i like the dialogues (the english is not perfect but good enough, and i wont judge if its like that cause mine is worse) only thing about the writing i dont like... there are a little bit to many inner monologues about obvious things. If you have pictures, dont write about things that can be seen obviously. And try to avoid to write the same things and thoughts over and over again... there are many things that are reapting itself. It gets sometimes a little tiresome to read this way i admit.

I thaught the "free version" is without animations, but there are some... and overall, they are not good. And like this not needed i think. But at least they are not annoying. I dont like short loops which are going on forever, in this game the animations are very short, so they cant be annoying, but they arent a real plus either.

I really want to know how this is going on, want to see how the MC will meet the other girls and what it will be like.

But iam a little bit concernded if this will not be little bit to "big" to get everything together in a decent amount of time, 5 girls with very different and big stries for each and everyone. its a lot to pull off. This one can easily be grown of the head without a good storyboard and a plan in your head how to finish things and when.

I will wtahc this project closely, and if the next update will be a good one in a acceptable amount of time, i consider to pledge... cause this as potential to be one of my abolute favorites, right now i will wait for the next update and hope you can deliver Than there is a 5th star avaiable too

So far extremely promising.

PRO's:
- MC isn't an a kid with a monster cock but an adult man.
- The MC isn't also a dick either. He seems quite human.
- Writing has been very good so far and the story is compelling
- Models look unique, not copies from other games.
- The Dev is very open to discussion about his creation.

CON's
- So far the only con I can think of is that the MC is a tad pessimistic but I can live with that. There's room for personal growth in his story because of that.

I shall definitely be paying closer attention to this one here as it absolutely deserves more attention.

This is a well written story telling visual novel.

Cons

• The animations in the first half of the game are high FPS and look great. Then, for some reason, the developer switches to low FPS animations that look awful. This was a poor decision and hurts the game. I understand it is easier and takes less rendering time but the end result isn't acceptable!
• Emily's character model looks like a barbie doll. She has large breasts, a tiny waist, and large hips. No one looks like this in real life. It is unnatural.
• The English is OK but needs a lot of help. There are plenty of misspelled and misused words. There are plenty of awkwardly worded sentences. The author doesn't use a period after single sentences or the last sentence in a paragraph. The author often does not capitalize the first letter in the first word of a sentence.
• So far all the characters in the game, including the MC, have had little experience with relationships. The MC is in his mid-40's and has only had one serious relationship. Sure, it is possible but a bit unbelievable.
• The MC is a bit too perfect in that he is the perfect gentleman all the time and always thinks of others before himself. He goes overboard with telling all the girls he meets how beautiful they are, all the time. He literally has no flaws other than his inexperience with relationships. He says the perfect thing 95% of the time.
• The MC is a successful business owner and runs his own company but his personality isn't a good fit for this. He is shy, timid, unsure of himself, overly generous, a pushover, and overly concerned with other people's feelings. He would get taken advantage of big time as a business owner with lots of employees. Personalities such as this don't make successful business owners in most cases. Very few successful rich people (that earned their own riches) have this personality.
• A few weird things in the game that don't make much sense such as an armored RV (they don't exist in real life, they would be far too heavy). The RV supposedly has a super advanced computer but the RV can't drive autonomously. A locked compartment under the front seat that holds a shotgun. Shotguns are very long and even an assault style shotgun with a pistol grip would require a larger compartment than would fit under a seat.
• The 'Back/Return' button and 'Quit/Exit' buttons are too close together. In most Ren'Py games, they are far apart and the 'Back/Return' button is at the bottom. In this game the 'Quit/Exit' button is at the bottom which made me click it out of habit too often. I finally just used the right mouse button to go in and out of the menu because I was too used to the standard button placement.

Overall, it is a well written story that is engaging and unique.

I rate the game 4.5 stars but since I can't I'm giving the author the benefit of the doubt and rating it 5 stars.

If you can enjoy a well written story driven novel with some adult elements mixed in then I highly recommend this game! The game definitely deserves more attention!

Genuinely impressed and, frankly, surprised with this one. On a number of fronts, but especially with the dialogue. While there are still some minor issues here and there with the dialogue sounding less-than-perfect (which is going to happen in almost any translation), it still has a natural flow and progression. Conversations make sense, and the characters behave in a consistent manner.

I was initially turned off by the MC's constant second-guessing of himself, and his ongoing inner monologues, but when other characters started pointing out that he was too much in his head, it became less of a writing issue was more clearly an in-character problem. So while I didn't really like it much initially, that change in perspective did force me to revisit it.

The humor is solid, but low-key. The renders look good and you can tell some time and care is put into them. I really enjoy seeing a fully adult male in the lead as opposed to the more common teenager/early 20s character most adult games lean on.

All in all, a really pleasant experience playing. Hefty for a .2.5, too, so I can't complain about the amount of content either. Absolutely worth a play.

Wow 5 stars easily , Amazing game it has an excellent story with nice dialogues and beautiful visuals and with sound effects which match the situation and the biggest strength to this game are the female characters who all are stunning and each have a story of their own . And a Male protagonist with nice personality and respects girls . I loved all Love Interest till now , if given the option I would try to romance them all , so I'm gonna wait and see how Harem is gonna develop in the future . Kudos Olecramid for this amazing VN , for me it is one of top games I have played story wise , added to my watchlist looking forward for future release .

The plot is interesting and the girls are really beautiful. But, and this is a big but for me, the story is too long. I´m ended up in clicking on the Enter button in high speed. If it wasn't for that click-fest I would give it 5 stars.

Great start to a game. The beginning of the story is cool. It has a cool premise behind it and it looks great. Looking forward to seeing where the story is going to go. I strongly advise giving the game a try.

where to start?? well , as i said in comments, this is an amazing piece of work. and while it is obvious that the author is Not a native english speaker, it is Very Well Written. i seem to have missed the initial release so not sure why some comments were made, (i started with 0.2) i can tell where some statements in the game are odd to the american ear but it isn't bad. there were a few points where i had to think but as far as the writing, renders, art, story and overall compilation... i really have nothing bad to say. i love it.
However.. i am Not liking the potential decisions i may have to make. the MC is in a typical 'mid-life' situation. he second guesses himself and Seems to make rash decisions. (he's a little bit TOO Real) and ..Normal (no monster dick) almost like what Every guy should be... the women are ALL so Lovely and well characterized that i am afraid of how this might end. each is worth her weight in gold. now my problem is this. i have seen this quality a few times in the past year and most of those games have failed to deliver the same quality thru to the end. (well most are V e r y S l o w ) to update but some just plane got lazy and 'chose' to make a lower quality piece of work.
SO, Dear Dev, Please, PLEASE continue to produce a Top Quality story.

I have to say I love it so far.

As a non-English native speaker, I cannot complain about grammar or spelling mistakes, a large part of them (if they still exist) I don't notice, or i probably make the same mistakes.

And like hell i won't complain about a few grainy images or "cheap" animations, because not every DEV has a data center available to render "first class" images and animations, especially no one who are just at the beginning.
You can start to complain about thas if the Patreon income is enough for more than 2 sachets of soup and the electricity costs for 1 day.

I also can't understand the complaints that this is too text-heavy or the dialogues are too long.
Personally, I think it's just right for the story.
They are not overused, as it is the case with Melody for example, where you are forced to read a doctoral thesis on 387 types of ukuleles for 5 minutes.

This is just not a "in-out-finish" story written by a teenager who is struggling hart with the hormones of puberty.
I don't blame or judge anyone for seeing it differently, maybe you have to be a certain age to realize that, but once you get there, you appreciate it.

Finally an MC who is not a horny idiot, but someone who is credible.
The fact that despite the" discreet" MC things get "down to business" quickly doesn't bother me.
After all this isn't a documentary about the midlife crisis, it's still a GAME for adults with sexual content.
I rather prefer to have a (little) hot spicy scene in a update, than having to wait for a 0.9 version to be able to see boobs once.

How the story has been so far and according to the developer, this is one to feel good.

Story wise, one of the best visual novels I have played in a while. Some images are grainy but good enough overall.
It's nice having a main character that's not trying to be a horn dog at every opportunity.

Pretty weird start for this game. You play as a seemingly middle aged men that starts his midlife crisis by selling everything he has. His car, apartment and company but the why only god knows.

The girls look pretty good and unique.

The worst part for me, because i only read in english, are the texts. It sounds like a mix between manhua (chinese manga) translation and someone who doesnt even know the basics of school english in a foreign country. Its still better than other games but it makes a game average for me because it breaks the immersion. Sometimes i really hate that i am able to understand a foreign language just as much as my mother tongue and with that i see almost every error.

What also bothers me is you can see the upper edge of text in the second line before it is shown. Pretty bad.

Edit: Might develop brain cancer while playing this game in english.
Edit2: MC looks like he is gonna cry every second now and is too apologetic.
Edit3: When a characters shows emotion it looks kinda hideous.
Edit4: MC is a crybaby.

WTG Dev _ Love it. The models and art are first rate, the women are beautiful and have their heads on straight and your story line is adult, relate-able and rings the bell for a lot of us with high-school and college 20-30yrs behind us.

Good to see our MC is a competent, grown ass man too. That's a welcome change from the over emoting man/child. Rachel definitely needs to talk him into a detour to Cabela's so he can pick up some fishing gear.

Well done Dev, this is a great start _ I think you have a winner here if you stay focused and on top of it. Like many here I am looking forward to future chapters and seeing where the story takes us. Don't leave us hanging too long before the next update!

This game is just awesome but it got pros and cons:

Pro:
- The Render are really very good
- The writing is good
- No Mother, Sister and Aunt crap (till now, i don´t know if it comes)
- The MC is a little to defensive with the girls (its a nice change since he is no complete asshole)

Contra:
- The MC is a little to defensive with the girls (He can be a liitle more forward but he gets the girls somehow)


I like all the girls so far and i hope that we can get in the pantys of all of them

I'm trying to put my initial "wow" into a more detailed review for v 0.2

First about the things done right from my subjective view

• This is a mature and overall tasteful game regarding plot, characters and dialogues. It features real characters and a somewhat believable story. This is such a nice contrast to superficial and silly games you find around here by the dozens. No creepy stalking at night, not lying, perving, manipulating or talking bullshit for hours straight, just sincerely expressed interest and mature attraction. This is so much better than the majority of games here.
• The pace balances quite nicely between story build up and lewd scenes. Of course the girls are (almost) immediately attracted to the MC, but this is not unexpected for a porn game, right? The story just delivers, it is not grindy and doesn't keep you hanging while still not being rushed.
• The graphics are tasteful with nice lightning choices and nice artistic scenes / viewpoints. This gives the game a really nice atmosphere!
• Quite beautiful models. Not some of those standard plastic dolls used in every second VN.

Now some cons, so that this review doesn't appear too one sided (even though it is)

• The animations are rudimentary only but not really that bad. Still some room for improvement, but I think the overall story and visual settings are more important anyways.
• Sometimes a little awkward English. Obviously the author is not a native speaker, but it is not too bad or cringe worthy. Some more proofreading wouldn't hurt.
• If you really want to find something to criticize, let's pick the audio part of the game. There could be much more background effects and ambient sounds to complement the visuals.

Overall, the game is in early stages but very promising so far. There are lots of characters introduced that are not woven into the main story, yet. The whole premise of the MC to start a journey is flexible enough for a lot of content in future. For me this is one of the quiet gems around here. I will be happily waiting for more updates.

Although this story/game has little to it so far, the quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Story ( so far ) : 4/10 Not original and the fact that the MC gets into sexual situations so fast is an example of lack of imagination.

Renders : 6/10 The character renders are pretty good a little better than most others.

Writing : 5/10 Nothing great so far. Should improve the initial story, not just a guy going around trying to figure out who he wants to be with and banging every female he meets. There are hundreds of story/games like that already.


Animations : 1/10 Another very cheap animation story/game. 2 or 3 second loopy sex scenes, cheap and lazy animating. If this story/game wishes to improve, this is something it should fix. Sucky animations don't make good games.

Playabilty : 9/10 There is nothing complicated about any of the display and it has room for many saves so that does beat some of the others.

Overall : 2/10 Not very interesting so far, the story is not an attention grabber, the animations are junk. Just an average story/game with little that makes it stand out.

This is a journey of a man who lost his way. His attitude changes as he becomes more open to change. We meet some women, but they are not yet acquainted with the MC, through V0.2. I am looking forward to that time.
The two women who give our MC attention, are given plenty of time to develop a friendship before some lively action takes place. The models are fresh and beautiful--the story really grabbed me.

I can see the Dev improve just about everything. The music was appreciated, but needs to be in more scenes.
The animation is a great improvement to the story. One scene, in the water, was the most erotic scene I’ve come across, where there was no actual f***ing. Please keep adding these erotic animations!!
The characters are well fleshed out, including the lesser ones. This story is light-hearted, but also has its downer moments. My favorite VNs are the ones that show us the good and bad, and get me invested in the lives of the main characters. ASH does that extremely well.
