VN - Ren'Py - The Seven Realms [R3 v1.02 Steam] [SeptCloudGames]

Interesting premise but close to unplayable. In the roughly two hours I put into this there were almost no choices, the plot dragged despite months going by, things were always told rather than shown, and it was 80% constant monotonous conversations with the main LI. What choices did exist seem to have only resulted in minor dialogue differences. On top of that, the renders in R1 are a bit rough around the edges at times, and the plot is borderline nonsense.

The one positive about the game is the supporting characters are fairly well characterized. It's a shame the main LI isn't.

This game is really well made. The renders and animations are amazing, especially in Realm 3. The sound effects also make the whole experience better. Although storywise there is not much going on, it seems like a typical fantasy plot; the character design is also really well done. The UI related things in the game are also good. This seems like a well-planned game, and it shows the amount of effort that is put into this.
This game is worth trying.

This game only pretends to have a story by constantly exposition dumping some random fantasy stuff, while it doesn't really have anything meaningful to tell. Also all women just magically love the MC unconditionally.

The animations are really good though.

After playing, I felt that it was fine to keep pressing the "skip" button. The story told was too jumbled and I couldn't immerse myself well. It is only recommended for those who love sex scenes. If you want to watch the story, don't play it.

High Quality of Scene but meh Animated Very high fantasy and the most Impressive and feature I love is Favorite,Glossary,Trophies. The point is I love the extra. Its rare to find the game with An extra that So MUCH ENGANGING (there are few in the zone, but believe me itsHard to find )

ok i have played alot of games from this site but gotta say this is probably one of the best so far.

the renders are just beautiful very high quality and the animations looks very well done.
All characters are really well done
the story so far is very intriguing and cant wait to see more of this story.
the music is also very fitting to the theme of the game.

only thing missing is the character info for the hot and beautiful sun elf and moon elf...wich i cant remember the names of now ofc.

i really tried to give this game a chance, but there really isnt anything good imo, animations are so bad, story is boring, character models are weird,
disproportionate, i dont understand all these good ratings, this was one of those games that i had really high expectations, and turned out into a complete disappointment

All in all, the story is not bad. It drags you into something that feels alive which is refreshing. My gripe with it is how it insists on droning on and on about lore. It's a whole lot of tell and not enough of show.

The characters are interesting at first but as the game progresses you realize they're not that deep. Despite plot twits and things happening, the characters remains dull. Which is surprising cause a lot happens in the story. But you don't FEEL that character growth.

As for sex? The animations are done really well and the characters are sexy enough. So why does every scene feel the same? Cause they're repetetive, they don't have any depth to them. It's just "ok lets fuck. Ok that was some good fuck." The characters don't seem very into it so how can I?

My main gripe however is the MC. You'll be seeing a lot of him so disliking him is gonna hurt everything. Hes's a gary stu, that's the short of it. It gets boring, alright? This wouldn't be such a problem if the game didn't try to be this much of a lore heavy game. It mixes badly.

Still, it's above average and for people who can overlook the negatives I've listed, it's gonna be a good game.

The story is grinding now. It started off very well. After two years we are still at the Elfen kingdom slowly grinding.
I really like the game but now losing interest.
Hope we get the flowers and start a new chapter soon.

Con: Everything else. Story is bad, and while the sex-scenes are animated very well, with no build-up, chemistry or reason for them, it might as well be 2 sex-dolls doing the nasty. Save your time, play something else

Excellent game, good story and great visuals. Now it has a lot going for it, hence the 5 star!

But it isn't without it's fault(s) - some or most have been mention by others!
Now for me in particular it's the jumping from 0 to 100 on the sex scenes, some had a render or two of maybe dialog or the MC undressing a LI, but most weren't!

Must play game with stunning visuals and great sex scenes. The developer is greater than many . Such an unique game comparing to any games right no "Must Try This Game" . I wish the developer complete the story soon

creator does really great job, id wish more updates but with this quality it worth the wait.

From a technical and visual perspective, it's a very good game.

It's tough to balance an MC being likable in games like these, but I think the author did a disservice by making the MC a huge Gary Stu with tons of backstory the players don't see or go through. Showing and not telling isn't just for movies, it's great for visual novels as well BECAUSE of how visual it is, when we get lore dumps about what the MC did before we had control of him, it ruins a lot of the punch and weight of the decisions, and the plot doesn't make up for it.

I enjoy plot in my visual novels, and yes I mean actual plot, even in adult ones, and I know the author put a ton of effort that should be commended, he makes frequent updates compared to a lot of his peers, I think there is a fundamental thing missing from this game for me to embrace it truly. If the MC was NEW to this universe and could explore it along with the players, this game would be better. We don't need some ultra-high vampire prince to take control of, we could have a character that grows more with us.

I know this review might not be completely favorable but I do want the author to know I respect his abilities as both an artist and the effort he has put in, it's just you drop us off the deep end and instead of us as the players learning it as we go along, we get lore dumps from the MC while explaining it to others.

How does this game have any legitimate high reviews?

The strength of the renders is the only thing that gets the game a star. Everything else about it is depressing.

You literally open the game with a hideously unattractive harem already throwing themselves at you.

The story progression is missing completely, though at least the english quality is ok

The played gets absolutely zero choice about who touches him or what he does. Where there are two choices one is just a loop until you pick the devs 'correct' choice

I have been playing and enjoying this AVN for some time now. The writing is not bad, and not amazing, but it works. What is Amazing, if not the best I have ever seen in an AVN is the animations. They have improved with every update, but this last one, holy cow! Superfluid to the point it feels like they used live-action shots and animated them. The story is decent enough to keep this entertain too. It's well worth playing this one.

It's visually fantastic, but the writing isn't good at all. I tried getting through the first season, and I just couldn't. The writing is basically on the level of Twilight, which I think encapsulates just what you're getting into. Of course, you could just skip the writing and get to the sex scenes, but I feel like at that point it really just hollows the experience, because most of it IS the mediocre dialogue and story.
