The Seventh Sign could have been a high tier short VN, but "they"decided that convoluted, and offensive to your intelligence, plot devices and supernatural explanations, were the way to go. Add to that the usual "let's have h-scenes at a nukige's pacing once they start", and all the good that was accomplished, just falls apart. Puzzling, isn't enough to describe what happened here, even if a lot of positives can still be found.
Positive:
- Nice heroine; Bilingual display (technical side of things is strong); Visuals are fine; Voice acting is OK; Backstory drama was solid (standard themes); Premise itself generates interest; OST has many tracks (for a short VN).
Neutral:
- "Non-sequitur" comedy is an acquired taste, and difficult to pull-off, if you don't know what you are doing.
Negative:
- There are stupid supernatural explanations in fiction, and then there's whatever happened here; Support cast serves little purpose; Meaningless plot twist and unfulfilling ending; No sense of gravitas (the premise is ignored through most of the VN); H-scene placement in the story.
Score: The seventh sign is a 6/10 and a decent VN. The score is supported by the first half of the VN, and production values. Something terrible happened here, and what could have been an excellent time turned to lowbrow entertainment, bordering a waste of time. It's a shame.
(H-scenes are the usual "vanilla", look good, and there's enough of them. The problem is that once they start, they go almost back-to back, and this is not that type of VN.)
