The premise of the game is well thought out and the characters and backgrounds both look good, the animations are a bit janky but are also quite good. The reason why I gave the game such a low score is because of the UI and UX. Basic functionality like saving or changing location is hindered by terrible design decisions, being forced to wait multiple seconds for some sound effect to play every single time you try to change locations gets annoying fast. Saving is only permitted whilst in an active unread conversation with a character, rollback is forcefully disabled at all times and there a limit of 32 save slots. Pair the subpar save system with bad UI and you end up with an experience far worse than what RenPy offers by default. All animations are a single click long and are mostly comprised of long 20-30 second videos which really could have been split into several smaller sections. It is really easy to skip past an animation since it only shows for a single click and considering there is no looping of animations and no rollback playing the game feels very unrewarding. There is also basically no guidance as to what you're supposed to do so quite some time is spent just aimlessly trying to find unread dialogue to progress.
All in all I believe the game has potential if the egregious UX gets addressed, particularly enabling rollback and making adjustments to the save system will go a long way to improving the game.
