I think the dev said they plan on adding another Hyena girl that'll be a futa once the MC gets to the village.
Have a mixed option on that myself. I prefer when it's more like very weird docking, rather than a straight-up futa like Elza from Ishuzoku Reviewers. Though most artists aren't willing to go that far in depicting it, and I totally understand that.

I find the human in an otherwise furry world thing to be a little trite. Like c'mon, acclimate. Otherwise it feels like it's made for people who only want to dip a toe in.

This has only been the case since the late/very late 2010s. I can't give an accurate number, but the vast, vast amount of furry H-games before that were Anthro X Anthro. Though at this point we're talking primarily flash and text-based experiences, and a very, VERY limited number of VNs. Even early H-game bubble it was primarily Anthro X Anthro.

Obviously your personal opinion, and I'll agree that Portal Fantasy/Isekai suffers from major issues, but to me, it's the furthest thing from trite possible. Human X Anthro is one of the most consistent times I see writers actually focusing on the differences between species beyond some meme references.

Why? Interspecies is already a major focus of furry work. Alienating an entire species like just comes off as the horrid misanthropic view that completely tainted the fandom in the 2000s.

Otherwise it feels like it's made for people who only want to dip a toe in.

Anyway. This definitely isn't HMOFA games. If someone was to "stick their toe" into it, they'd play a game with a primarily human and/or monster girl cast with one anthro in the cast.

In my personal experience, the times I recall an author actually focusing on the differences between species beyond some limited stereotypical (and sometimes arbitrary) depictions and attributes, and when it actually matters in the game, are few and far between. Even in anthro x furry setting.

It comes off as trite because more often than not the whole point is to cater to a boring exotic sex tour fantasy. Furry games where all the characters, including the main character, are furries tend to be a lot more immersed in their settings and stories.

Sometimes the human protagonist games have a stranger in a strange land angle that can work, or they take the interspecies aspect more seriously, but for every one of them that does three more come off as though they're embarrassed of being a furry game. While I'm not a furry myself and don't -need- it to be that way, I do tend to like the games made by furries for other furries better. They just feel way comfier; there's a verissimilitude that these toe-dipping nondescript human guys fucking furry girls games tend to be lacking.

In fact that's part of it. Full furry games tend to have fully realized protagonists, too.

To me it sounds more that you don't like bad/shallow games. I think everyone can agree with that.
Personally, I've had the exact opposite experience with Hetero Anthro X Anthro games, though it's quite a limited selection in the first place.
I get that you don't REALLY think they're embarrassed, but I honestly cannot think of a solid example of that beyond a few terrible Match 3 games which would be just as terrible with an anthro MC.

Ngl I'd prefer bara that's leaning towards the heavy build type like bodybuilder, something like what Dendryte-Axxon draws rather than......obese I suppose? I'm still okay with Volibear and Ornn as long as the artist doesn't make their bellies too big, I'd still prefer muscles more

Also, I prefer fully furry games including the MC like Tavern of Spear rather than human MC and the rest are just furry, it's like you're just isekai-ed into this world but hey each to their own some prefer they're in a human form with human dick rather than a random canine with a canine dick
