The Background
A long time ago there was a developer called Midnite Guerilla [sic] who created a game called The Wish.
Development of that game didn't go well. There were a lot of bugs and a lot of issues mainly because Midnite Guerilla was an artist and not very good at writing or coding. The game got completed and that was that.
Later there was a developer called Lucky Slap who created a game called Beneath a Neon Sun. This had better coding and pretty decent art because, very early on, Lucky Slap and Midnite Guerilla started working together and began to call themselves Lucky Guerrilla (having worked out how to spell by this time.)
Unfortunately, the art base of Beneath a Neon Sun got lost in a hard drive crash and the Guer(r)illa part of Lucky Guerrilla decided to call it quits. He passed over all the surviving art assets from the time of their collaboration and also from the period of the development of The Wish to his partner, and walked away.
With Beneath a Neon Sun a dead duck, I decided to revisit the world of The Wish and create The Wish 2.
This is the development thread for that game. You can call me Lucky. It's an ironic nickname.
The Game
The Wish 2 is a sequel to the 2019 game The Wish. It is a point-and-click adventure game set in 2023. It will follow the story of a young man who makes a wish and finds that having it granted may lead to more than he bargained for...
The Wish 2 shares the same setting as The Wish and will include some familiar faces but it is a brand new story with a new protagonist.

| The MPC is Josh Matthews. At school he was a star quarterback of the football team. Now that he's graduated he is going to attend Merrick College on a football scholarship. His mother is Heather Matthews, a nurse. His father died when he was a baby but Josh and his mother are still close to his paternal grandfather. |
| Heather Matthews is Josh's mother. She has known a lot of heartbreak in her life; her parents were killed in a car crash when she was 16 and Josh's father died when he was a baby. She never remarried, putting all her time and effort into raising him and working as a nurse at the local hospital. |
| Simon Matthews is Josh's beloved maternal grandfather. A Vietnam veteran he spent 40 years in the local police department until his retirement in 2019. After Josh's father's death he stepped up to help Heather look after him. Josh has no greater friend or champion than his "Pops". |
| Darrell Reed is Josh's best friend. Josh has known him since second grade and they have always done everything together. Even though they've graduated high school that isn't going to change since they're both about to start Merrick College as freshmen. |
