The IP is just not that popular. I JUST recently played the first one because the second game is coming out soon.
IMO if the game was made in 2023, they would've taken out a lot of the violence + sex. PC culture is not going to want a game where The Little Mermaid is a stripper at a strip club.
If you search for rule34 content, you will see there's not that much for the IP in general.
My hope is with the release of game 2, it'll become popular. But Pudding n Pie will probably be gone in game 2, imo.

I'm surprised someone hasn't made an adult game similar style of Wolf Among Us. Could probably do it to great effect in something like Unreal.
I would've thought the real-time creation would've been superior to rendering hundreds of images in Daz manually. And since you don't need to create huge environment levels you wouldn't have the performance requirements that hold most Unreal games back.

It depend on the country. Laws regarding IP are particular, and it's not because you are free to use it (because made free by the author, or because being now too old), that you can do whatever you want. The notion of image attached to the IP is something inalienable and that have no age limits. If you want to make a porn remake of From Earth to the Moon, Jules Verne heirs would go after your ass and would more than probably win.

Well, the IP is not THAT famous but it is engaging and have tons of sexy characters (who wouldn't like to pimp little mermaid and snow white?) and potential. And the story itself already present us a brothel where you can do it, the whole foundation is already there.
It is unlikely but I hope that with the second game launching someone will use the hype to create such game.
PSA: 'pc/woke/cancel culture' has never decided a single choice in any production or marketing meeting, ever. what decides these things is capitalism, and more precisely ruthless maximizing of profits. the decisions in companies are made purely based on whether they believe it sells or not, and they don't give a fuuuuuck if it's 'pc' or not.
