The Gay Tag Review
The male main character has a wife, so you can't expect to avoid straight content -actually, most scenes involve some level of straight sex. You can choose the bisexual path to see more m/m action, but there's no full gay (or even predominantly gay) path.
Reviewing a visual novel that was actually completed, what a treat! However, this game is stronger in concept than in execution. The beginning -a classic Star Trek-ish scifi scenario of a crew rescuing a lost ship on a mysterious and dangerous planet- is intriguing, but the final product is slightly overwhelming. The world building could have been used better, and several hunches and ideas aren't developed fully or at all. The story, especially at the end, feels rushed. Even concerning the sex scenes, I've spotted many occasions that could have led to sex interactions and were surprisingly left aside.
Mechanics-wise, I like the idea of making the player choose among various relationship profiles (open, cheating, cuck, pure) and between straight and bi, and also that you can choose to play as Aaron or Irene in various scenes, but of course if you're interested only in a subset of these combinations (which happens for example to gay players) you will see only a small part of the sex scenes. It's a standard visual novel with choices at specific junctures, but also in this case I feel that the story could have allowed for more choices, it's a bit on a rail track.
Graphically, it's... ok. The various people are far from being ugly, but they are not the most enticing either. Same goes for the backgrounds. Nothing really stands out. Note that the male main character looks very young and the female one quite mature, which reflects their character but the difference is quite jarring at times.
So, globally, it's not a bad visual novel, it's just kind of forgettable, and I think there was much more that could have done with the material.
