VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Thot on Trial [v1.1.0S] [Inceton Games NTR]

Overall, a good AVN, but the ending is very unsatisfactory and not honoring prior player choices.

The good:
(+) Character designs and graphics, without AI CG
(+) FMC and Anna are both strikingly beautiful, scenes HOT
(+) FMC has agency to pick whom she gets close to (except Ep8)
(+) Husband can chose to not be doormat (up until Ep8)
(+) The story was interesting
(+) Anna's motivations where not easy to read, which worked well story wise.
(+) Both FMC and husband have believable character flaws (up until Ep8)

The in between:
(±) Narrator voice was not terrible for AI.

Opportunities for improvements:
(—) The closet scene in Ep8 is forced regardless of husband's prior choices
(—) FMC is too gullible, which is annoying when playing her and being forced to watch her suffer from bad decisions. Instead, she could have been genuinely fooled with a believable motivation, or someone could have exploited her weakness for weed, etc.

This was mostly enjoyable, but Ep8 ruined a lot of the good buildup. I would rate Ep1-7 as 5/5, and Ep8 as 2/5, leading to a conclusion of 4/5.

The bad ending is a shame as there is a lot of quality here. If feels as if the author rushed the ending with limited effort. It could have been a great AVN. Still, there is good material here so definitively worth a download.

These games are a cancer that needs to be eradicated. There is no rating lower than 1 star because there is no limit to how awful they are. The only thing done well is the wife of the “MC.”

Thot on Trial goes on a simple premise: Netorare, and does not fail to deliver an experience faithful to the original Japanese definition.
The problem is that this is very niche so it's not an enjoyable experience for everyone...Why would you enjoy this btw, whats wrong with you?
Jokes aside, the plot works, no matter how unbearable it may seem.

Characters: *404*
After giving some thought to this department, considered the only appropiate score to these characters was absolutely zero stars.
The main male character is as bland and tasteless as a bowl of overcooked rice, in certain cultures he would have been put out of his misery as soon as he left the cosmic furnace and its impossible that he could have married such a hottie.
The main female character is literally a piece of meat surrounding a vagina. If marrying a stripper is a bad idea, marrying someone like her is 100% worse. She'll simply take everything you worked so hard to buy in a divorce and move on to ruin the next fool.
Both are as wide and deep as a pond, and their "relationship" is meaningless, feels like they met each other 5 minutes ago.
Of course I wasn't expecting novel-like character development, but bear this in mind, NTR characters should make you feel something similar to betrayal, so you should feel some kind of empathy for the victim...Here you'll only get angry for how dumb and shallow they are.
Anna is great honestly, sad she's a support character since she's a solid 4 stars on her own.

No puzzles or minigames, good.
Your choices and those +/- stats are worthless, Very bad.
Don't get fooled, this is a kinetic novel, which should not be bad, the problem happens when you sell the "illusion of control" of the narrative to the user and in reality there is none.

There's enough scenes, some are actual plot devices but anyway, the replay gallery serves its purpose.
In most scenes, you won't have control of the actions happening on screen.

Ending: 2 Resting Bananas out of 5
The whole season is a great set-up for the second season, but it feels too short.

Thot on Trial is...Something, and surely it has its fans...I'm not one of them.
But, strictly speaking, it fails to deliver a good experience because its main characters fail to make us feel the most basic form of empathy and are about as likable as slug soup, if I could get in this visual novel, I would do it to give both of them a good dose of .45HP straight in the chest, to take Him out of his misery and to save the good souls left out there, from Her.

Good animations, too many forced choices. Both of the MCs are unlikable, and the "choices" you do have seem meaningless. Overall, my first foray into NTR/Cuck games and I wasn't too pleased.

Edit: Played it a second time due to some of the replies I got. Yes, the choices still leave much to be desired, and the lack of sound is pretty bad but the background story (the courtroom stuff) was actually pretty interesting. It's not a cuck game though, I actually looked into cuckolding because of this game and it lacks the power dynamic that goes along with that specific type of voyeurism. This is just a game about a nymphomaniac bimbo and her weak husband, not a cuck game. Really good art though.

The game has some decent aspects and some very poorly done things, some parts of the graphics are not bad, the audio is terrible, or missing, then the characters' personalities, they lack personality, finally the story, it is too messy, it is not clear what the plot is about. Terrible VN

Enjoyable fuckfest, the hot piece of ass leading FMC(the wife), getting more and more corrupted each minute.
Don't expect choices that matter or alter the story, the illusion of choice is more a illusion than ever here... this game is very linear with "which one do i fuck?" options sprinkled here and there.
Mr Walton, the boss, is my favorite character, a devious manipulator, using the wife to attack the husband.

You can enjoy it for what it is, a hot girl journey towards going full slut and a dude becoming a "happy cuck", don't expect anything more.

This game is great. Enough plot not to be boring, enough fucking not to be boring, a little bit of mystery to give it just enough porn logic to continue. Devin is hotter than the sun and can't get enough. There seems to be 4 paths here. No cheating, wife cheats, husband cheats, or both cheat. What happens in some of the sex scenes is dependent on the choices you make beforehand. The models are usual Incenton fair and this is starting to remind me of Inside Jennifer alot. Did I mention Devin is hot? Starting to get a lot of this story is revolving around her being an unresolved slut just looking for any excuse to wander off. Kinda want to do a playthrough where she does all the cheating just to have dude dump her on her ass in the end. Oh well can't wait to see how it all turns out.

WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE, IT DOESN'T MATTER. I don't understand why to add such mechanics and not implement it, apparently for show, so that the player could MAKE HIS CHOICE (there is no choice), the plot is too graphomaniacal and contains a lot of water, apparently in order to delay the gameplay. The only plus is good graphics and pleasant (looking) characters (well, except for the mustachioed boss)

I don't feel like writing a giant review so I'm just going to keep it simple.

The only thing do far that I can say is good about this game once again, is that inceton can make some hot girls.

Story: nothing special.
Male protagonist: at least he seems to get some actual decisions that seem to truly impact the story and he has 1 or 2 scenes that I can say I liked.

Female protagonist: her side of the game feels basically railroaded and way to kinetic novel with no decision that really feels impact full, and it feels much more like a love simulator than a corruption game, and not a single scene have I looked at and said "dam that was hot." So far its boring ad hell to me.

Another Mid game. The character is so generic and lazy, literally play any Inceton game and you'll see the same face every damn time writing is mid, could've tried a little harder tbh. Sex scenes could use some work, why not make it a one flow animations instead of making players click on bubbles above just to move to the next position, sigh. Could've done better tbh.

But my main gripe would be the same face syndrome of the characters, like atleast tweak them or something its so bland and tasteless seeing same face everytime. Specially the fmc design, she's so generic.

Given the usual quality of Inceton Games I have to give it at least a 3 for the amount of caring on the renders, music, ambiance, etc.

With the "good stuff" out of the way, those NTR games are hard to craft, there's a loooot of nuance, and regardless of how the characters were designed (in this case, the usual loser),the illusion of choice is too much on this one, i.e., you can control a few variables -so long the male MC gets to get framed as the traitor in order to justify further female behavior, kinda lame.

First the bad: in my opinion nothing.
The good:
- the game flows comfortably fast, short but full of event (5 star)
- animations and carachters are top notch (5 star)
- themes: office plot, smoking and hotwife, cheating husband, solid start for many routes (5 star)
Standard: full porn logic; characthers thoughts are boring, when MC thinks "great bj" he must say it (IMHO 3 star).

Well, you get what you pay for with Inceton. Beautiful images... and that's about it.

Another reviewer said it previously, but it's just another lazy NTR game. NTR, IMO, could be really good, but there is only one other AVN out there that does an okay job with it, but everything else it's the same playbook.

At some point in the first scene, the MC says something like, "but don't worry, everything is going to be alright". I should have stopped right there.

If you are looking for a plot with no thinking required, and you like loser cucks, then come on on the water is perfect. Otherwise, there is nothing new to see here. Just the same old crap, different AVN.

Review as of v0.3.0

This game feels more like a 3.5 but 4 feels more fair than 3 to me.
If you are looking for NTS / sharing id personally stay away from this game. The game makes the MC such an asshole the husband and wife don't have a good relationship , I can't see how a NTS path would work if one gets introduced. The game does seem like it might get one at some point as the MC seems to get horny when thinking about his wife or watching other people fuck.

The game kind of feels like it pushes you towards NTR / cheating with how their relationship is shown off and how much of an asshole the MC is. So if you perfer NTR over NTS this might be a good game for you , after more updates no cheating has happened as of yet.

This game for me was quite enjoyable for me for what it is and that is coming from someone that likes NTS and not NTR in these type of games generally. But the enjoyment I got out of I don't mind especially because the MC is such an ass to his wife I wouldn't mind if he gets NTR'd unlike in other games on this site.

The one big negative I have is there is a sex scene with the wife. The controls to move forward is some of the most annoying controls I have seen in any game. Instead of clicking to the next render you have to click a icon and click the next level of hearts to move forward. You have to do this about 6 or 7 times.

Thot on Trial has to be one of the most under appreciated NTR games ever. The opening scene is incredible, the female characters are gorgeous and the animations are as good or better than any I've seen. The only con I can think of is that the developer doesn't seem to post much in advance and then I'm pleasantly surprised when there is a new release.

Initial Thoughts:
The concept of the game is great! An overall decent story line that in the beginning shows exactly where Inceton wants to take it and how things are going to go regardless of path chosen.

The Good:
Multiple Paths - In any good NTR game there should be multiple paths and options to choose from so you have your preference when it comes to the female MC's diversion from their partner. This game (at the time I am writing this: v0.3.0) has 3-4 paths that she can go down, some more fleshed out than others, but a decent mix early on.

Character Models Pt. 1- In this I'm specifically talking about the female models. They aren't the highest of quality, but they get the job done and with the appropriate lighting and affects.

The Meh:
Character Models Pt. 2- As a whole these character models seem either outdated or they seem too flat. The non-canon renders in the gallery are great and all but to have the story renders and animations to look this mediocre really puts a bad taste in my mouth as someone who wants to see this game succeed. On the flip side of it, they just seem stiff and flat. The female MC's ass looks like a shelf from IKEA, stiff and lifeless. The male MC as well as the other male interests look generally okayish but they still look lifeless... even trying to convey emotion in the story renders, it doesn't convince me. Oh... and their dicks... classic same cock for all people of the same color... fun.

The Bad:
Updates- I've been following since the initial release of this game and god... the pacing of this story is so fucking slow I might as well be watching Game of Thrones again. The dialogue is uninteresting, the character-to-character interaction is just flat out bland, and it fails to immerse you in the game as a whole. (If you are even playing for story that is.)

Up until this point, the updates have been very short and lacking. The episodic updates are cool and all, but these micro updates in between are worth skipping, you're better off waiting until the next episode instead of these little filler updates so that Inceton can keep raking in money.

Sex scenes- Boring but not too boring... They get the job done in the respect that yes, it is a porn game, and it does what it's supposed to do... but almost all of them feel devoid of simple details to where it just looks scripted (obviously it is but you know what I mean) and weak.

Immersion- Horrible. I like a good story every now and again, but this one takes the cake as the most boring story line I've seen in a while. Tropes left and right, insert typical plot lines here, add a little bit of male mc being a bitch there, and shabam! A rehashed story that seems all to familiar from another game that Inceton had made previously and is the only one that's finished (at least thats been uploaded to F95) and it shows.

Predictions:
This game is either going to end up as an abandoned game with how in frequent the updates are OR its gonna finish out but all of the quality content is gonna be in the non-canon renders and animations. Aside from that though, I really do want the game to get better, yes, it's early on in its production but it has a chance to change if Inceton puts more effort into making these updates more expansive and more captivating. As of now however, this game is just another classic example of NTR done mediocre. My overall review is a 4/10 as of v0.3.0... I hope this game changes for the better by episode 3/4.
