Do you mod porn content into non-porn games?

Recently, I just finished playing the FPS Citadel and Beyond Citadel. Personally, I am a huge fan of retro shooters/boomer shooters so these titles naturally popped up on my radar. More than that, their interesting aesthetic grabbed my curiosity even more, with an art style that reminded me of old school anime like Neon Genesis. After having played both, Beyond Citadel is far and away the better game with a more complete narrative and fleshed out gameplay elements. If you're a fan of older shooters like Marathon, DOOM, or Duke Nukem 3D you'll find a lot to enjoy here with some twists like weapon jamming and light RPG elements to give it some modern twists. However, as much as I would love to write up a full on review of these twin titles, these games made me consider something else. How do YOU approach adult or porn content in games that aren't 100% built for porn?

For instance, in both of these titles there is nudity as well as lots of possible sexual undertones involving characters being tortured/killed. Its certainty not for the faint of heart, but it does go with the kind of extreme content that rose up in anime around the 90s. However, as someone who enjoys porn games, I did find this a little offputting. The violence played a part in that for sure, but typically I feel like I enjoy a distinction between the games that are built for lewd enjoyment vs games that aren't. Beyond Citadel would be an enagaging throwback shooter along the lines of Turbo Overkill and Dusk without these oddly sexual elements.

Oddly enough, as a sidebar, this isn't the first time I've come across this. Another, perhaps more popular, example, is HEDON: Bloodright, which has self procliamed 'Waifus' all over the fantasy enviorments. It's an odd choice for a game so clearly inspired by DOOM but then again, even DOOM has attracted this kind of attention with the likes of mods like H-DOOM. A conversion mod for the orginal classic that turns the demons into fuckable toys for the DOOM marine to enjoy rather than slay.

So just to wrap all this up, I wanted to pose the question is this something that bothers you at all? Or to go even deeper, do you mod in more sexual content into your non-porn games? Skyrim and Fallout both have quite detailed erotic mods, and Cyberpunk 2077 carries these tradations into the modern day. Or do you prefer to keep your porn and your other games seperate?

Generally I don't want to see it. Not out of prudishness, but because it's guaranteed not to do anything for me other than annoy. It's not going to titillate because I'm only interested in certain themes that you won't see in anything mainstream; it's not going to interest me from a narrative standpoint; and I certainly don't want a game where romance and sex is outside the player's control even in porn. When I play porn I'm a different mindset, and when I'm not I don't want to see that kind of stuff.

I probably would have played the Witcher games and watched some of Game of Thrones if not for the unavoidable sexual content. I did pick up CP2077 because it seems there are enough mods to make it fapworthy to me. I have played Skyrim and FO4 with lewd mods and both were great. It's just a matter of being able to roleplay or experience fetishes I like, while avoiding vanilla or unwanted content.

I really hadn't considered that perspective. I suppose that it makes sense, since if the kinks in the game aren't to your taste then why even bother. It seems so obvious now honestly to be honest, since if you're interested enough in adult content to seek out porn games and play them, the vanilla stuff you'll see in most mainstream games likely won't be enough. Mods are a fantastic fix this though, even if I can't really think of many games outside of Skyrim, Fallout, and Cyberpunk that facilitate that kind of 3rd-Party support. I know something like The Sims has some pretty kinky stuff, and I have seen plenty of nude mods for titles like Tomb Raider or Midnight Suns, but it's not offering the same kind of freedom in exploring your own kinks like the Bethesda games or Cyberpunk.

Anyway, thanks for the insight!

Well, I like when there's a romance and sexual content in AAA games. I certainly would want to see it more, but if there's a reason for it. I don't want to see it just because and that's why I prefer porn with plot too, not just pure porn. When there's erotica without romance and passion, it's bland. So, I prefer when it's implied in AAA games rather than shown because I play those games for adventure and missions. So yes for vanilla eroticism and no for porn. This is why I like Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Baldurs Gate. The worst sex scene I saw is in The Last of Us with Abby and Owen, it's cringe.

Personally I like the idea of 'crossing the streams' but I haven't played many games that actually do it. I agree that the eroticism is more important than the smut itself, for example in Dragon Age and Mass Effect and Skyrim, you win your favorite girl and then the game implies or tells you that you're in a sexual relationship now. You don't have to actually see the sex itself; roleplaying that your character got laid is reward enough.

You probably could enhance these games with hot sex scenes, and I guess that's what mods are for. But I generally don't bother with mods like that.

Sounds like you like the ryona style, which I may be misspelling, but it is the whole quasi-sexual but centered on pain, death, and or torture.

There's a handful of those out there but I feel like people hate them even more than regular porn games because torture and death is seen as terrible by most people, so the audiences for these can be small.

As for sex in games, sure I like it if it makes sense. If it's there to be a fun option I'm all for it. If it's there to be preachy at me I'm less interested.

I am all for it. It was always kinda weird to me that games like to overlook sexual content when that is a major staple in the real world. It only enhances and matures whatever its placed in. A good example is Star Wars. Andor, a popular Series taking place in the Star Wars Universe, has recently made headlines for a scene where an Imperial Officer attempts to rape a girl and the girl ends up killing him in retaliation. Everyone in the Star Wars spaces online majorly agreed it was a well-done and made for great storytelling.

Sex/Nudity isnt something people should be shying away from. It should be embraced and we can kinda see that taking shape IRL with OnlyFans and pretty much prostitution be normalized.
