There are hints for every memory, but there are dependencies so It won't give you a hint unless you can actually do something about it.
If you didn't receive the hint, then maybe you are missing the previous memory that tells you the reason why you should talk to her.
There could errors in the hints dependencies since there are 1000+ memories but this was not the case.

Day 3 one is another variant of messing with girls tasks at hospital so they would get punished by Layla: for this you need to have both Crystal and Sophie punished.
Day 4 ones are:
- Crystal ranting about Rosario to Sophie (have Rosario attack Crystal)
- Giving Sophie a massage (you need to pass massage check)
- Getting a handjob from Alice (not a morning one... you have to ask for one during the day)

For achievement, the one you miss is Alice.

you should have around 4 timelines when reaching day 3
look at LIST OF TIMELINES
in walkthrough
also it's important to have fun points

No, timelines are not "must have"... you can play the game without making any. What they are is shortcuts that could make the game easier depending on when you make them.
