Hello everyone,
I've just started to create a game and I realized my mistake I tried to run before crawling.
I don't have much knowledge but I'm keen to create content, so I'd like to try creating images first before getting into creating videos and finally getting completely into creating the game I have in mind.
My question is whether using blender to create images is a good idea or whether you'd recommend using another format ?
My aim is to create renderings like Delirium Bear, Giddora or ImSayaa in images and later in video.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

If you are just starting out - I second the recommendation to learn Blender FIRST.

I learned DAZ first and I am now kind of locked in inertia with it and I really don't want to have to spend more time learning Blender, even though I would love the ability to know that app properly.

The reason I suggest starting with Blender is for a few reasons.

First, Blender is 100% free and has a huge following and everything I have seen about it says it's better for making custom characters and doing modeling.

Second, DAZ is going through a transition to a Premier subscription based service now, so the free version of DAZ Studio Pro may have features removed in favour of the paid Premium version. While Blender is free and seems to have better support.

Finally, while DAZ is super useful, especially for creating and rendering scenes (It has a huge library of already created assets - probably it's biggest advantage) - Daz is clunky doing animations and it's photo-realistic render engine - Iray - is exclusive to Nvidia. So to get the best performance, you are basically forced to buy one of their video cards worth anywhere from $700-$2000+ dollars. If you don't have a decent GPU, then you are stuck doing CPU rendering which sucks donkey balls and can take hours per render.

Honestly, another reason I haven't learned Blender yet is that the UI in that program just scares me. It seems so counter-intuitive. And I am a guy who has been using computers for over 40 years!

If you intend to move into animation, I suggest Blender from the get-go. Daz HAS animation, but Blender's animation is FAR superior... there is a reason it has been used to make entire movies. I can't speak to the content library, mainly because I use Daz and not Blender, and only dabble ATM, but if I ever decide to focus on animation, I'll be making the switch to Blender myself.

Stop being scared and postponing and start learning now. Blender's UI has been improved a lot, it's not "scary" anymore.
However, if you still find the current UI scary, there's a fork made even more artist-friendly:

It's more inertia now, and the fact that I just have no free time! I mean, sure... I could pause development, but then I would loose a bunch of subscribers. It's a catch 22. I do plan on devoting some time to learning a few new skills this winter, but I am trying to finish one of my projects first, before I start that.

Thanks for your help, I'll be able to concentrate on Blender and create a little adventure in image form and then turn it into a video.
I'll create the To Love Ru characters once I've mastered Blender.
So if one day I get a story out of it in image or video form, it'll be called : The adventures of SARUYAMA Kenichi (Ntr)(Rito deserves to be Ntr)
P.s: If you know of a youtuber who does Blender tutorials, could you please write to me.
I've already watched over thirty Blender videos and I feel like I've just scratched the surface of this software.
