Hi, I was told I could post here? Game's in pre-alpha, so here's an infodump. I'm working on this with some support from Tyranicon/Memory of Eternity.

Heresy Simulator is a party-based RPG set in a parody setting of Warhammer 40k. Player assumes the role of Slaaneshi cultist (being a parody, no intellectual property will be directly lifted, so proper names will not be used). First playable build coming soon.

It has:

  • Party-building
  • Permadeath
  • Classes
  • Skill trees
  • Grid-based battles
  • Limited base building
  • Overworld travel and missions similar to Battle Brothers
  • Moddable weapons
  • Open world (similar to Battle Brothers)
  • etc

Comparison of art styles. My partner and I discussed it and we'll probably just end up keeping one:

Black and white comic book style vs anime-inspired. I'm a self-taught animator, so there will be animated h-scenes.

Comic book style is probably a better fit for WH40k. Would be nice if they were colored though.

Sounds like it could be some fun gameplay once it's completed, but what is the porn aspect to this?

Thanks, we're thinking the same. I personally like the B&W style, but that's up in the air if it changes.

It will have aa different animation and art style. And probably less text.

Oh damn, W40k and BattleBros?! Like holy shit, can you please release this already! :D:D:D

Hope we get to see some loyalist Astartes! Maybe as huge boss encounters on max difficulty?

Also, def comic book style. And up the color saturation on the world map, it looks a bit worn out.

Apart from that, this hits all the right buttons... Looking forward to it; good luck my man! ;)

Not going to lie and am saying that I'm leaning towards the animu style because its a H parody but lorewise, yeah, B&W fits 40k a whole lot more.

Also, that Astartes better be a boss encounter! Please don't trivialize them like so many games do, they're supposed be walking death machines with superhuman reaction times and bodies that are impenetrable to small arms fire (even before you factor in their armor). The players control more or less human characters, so any Astartes that shows up should be a party vs. single boss type of battle.

Keep us posted, please! Maybe upload some art concepts and sketches? Really looking forward to this project! ;)
