good start, mostly

Art
'nuff said
  • but there's a lack of variation in Claire's standing/portrait art - too often i was looking at the same reused asset of her Screenshot 2025-03-31 230718.png . the profile art looks good but becomes uncanny to look at when it's overused - not a big issue on a first release though
    • while i absolutely love her second day's outfit, and the way you drew her body, the profile forward-facing head that's attached looked bad on her body's side profile Screenshot 2025-03-31 210457.png
    • EDIT: perhaps it's less about variation and more just the head looks too flat if it's being turned to the side
Writing and Content
  • good pacing
  • i like the aunt's personality
  • i live vicariously through MC as he ogles this fine piece of work
    • that being said, i'm enjoying the tease from this first release
Gameplay and UI
  • not a fan of the Game engine. it's not too bad, but when there's a scene, the menu doesn't work, useful for saving. it would be a bottleneck for any future long scenes.
    • and the game goes to main menu after the last scene so i'll have to start from my save before it.
  • another issue is the dialogue text has a lower resolution on my game Screenshot 2025-03-31 205420.png

Uncomplicated writing, nice art, thicc plot, sound needs some love. Looking forward to when animation is added :)

Thanks for your review . I wasn’t expecting something this detailed.

About the game engine, yeah, I programmed it that way for scenes. Since Godot isn't a VN engine, you pretty much have to code everything, and this is one of the downsides but it's also more flexible for some future features (Same for the last scene). That's why I'm using a custom library to manage dialogues, but if saving during scenes is really important, I can probably work on it sooner than I had planned.

As for the resolution issue, I’m guessing you’re playing on a 2K monitor? I’ll see what I can do about that.

About the repetitive art , there's actually a bunch of images I just didn't use because I just didn't like it. I ended up deleting it last minute. So that’s probably why it feels limited and repetitive. About the weird head... You are right

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this! This feedback is gonna be really helpful for future updates. :coffee:

hopefully you get more feedback to know if u should. again, i think it would really only be a prob if you have a really long scene/dialogue

not at all, 1366x786, lol.
