Most devs don't even try out new stuff because of these toxic fckers tanking their ratings. I always see these classic comments "oh the game looks great, but it has *this* in this and it ruins it for me". So before going let me give a one star rating. Mostly these stuff are optional. But these guys cant even handle that. A dev reads 10 comments like this and next time they won't bother adding anything new or abandon the project because of discouragement.
NOBODY WANTS TO KNOW YOUR SHITTY OPINION IF U DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER PLAYING THE GAME. IF U DONT LIKE IT , DONT PLAY IT. DONT TANK THE RATINGS AND RUIN IT FOR OTHERS.

While being annoyed does lead to exaggeration, you've left all content out of this by making the title " vanilla porn fans"
"Some" devs use this site, "some" devs don't and "some" devs don't even know about this site. So while "some" devs might not like the feed back they are getting if they decide not to "add new stuff or abandon the project" after only 10 comments there was not much hope to begin with if that is all it took to make them give up.

Granted badly worded replies from people who have not played a game are not helpful, well constructed advise should help a dev and may even lead to more people playing in the future.

Maybe you should put as much thought into your words when starting threads as you expect of other when they are replying to game threads.

Also sorry that a game you like isn't doing well and hope your day goes better :)

Attacking "vanilla" fans is a complete misrepresentation. No matter the content there are always a few vocally toxic individuals opposing it, even if they are into degenerate stuff themselves. It's not one monolithic group of "vanilla" people, hate-boners are just as common and varied as kinks and fetishes.

You saved me from the trials of not digressing too much while trying to construct a post so thanks. Pretty much sums it up alright.

See enough toxic vanilla fans myself but that is not to say its the 'vanilla' part that is to blame.

I can get behind accusing this particular group, sure, since they are part of the problem nevertheless. But toxic people are just toxic at all corners of the world, behind every fetish there are toxic ones.

What, exactly, do you classify as "vanilla"? Some will consider impregnation absolutely haram but for others it's an average Tuesday night. Besides that, generalizations like that don't help your case at all, the vocal minority will always sperg out over minor things.
What do you mean by "most"? At best you'll see maybe a comment or two like that every few pages, is it really worth getting bent out of shape because of that?
It seems to me you're the one who's way more upset at the low ranking than the dev itself, and you're upset that people don't like what you like.
Lastly, a project being abandoned over around 10 comments? That project was doomed to begin with if that's all it took.

Do people actually look at the stars? I usually just find the game I like and play it.
Anyway, reviews are there to... well... express your opinion. Bad or good.
When you put your work online, get ready to be judged. That's just how it is and I am sure a lot of developers understand it.
I am sure they are thankful for your concern, but a better way to express your gratitude would be... well... good comments and good reviews of your own. :BootyTime:

I was talking about the people who rates games just based on tags, without even playing the game.

Truly, a dev who gives up after reading a handful of bad comments didn't have much hope in his/her project to begin with but you are taking lightly the size and power of this website. This website can quite frankly make a game or break a game. It is in the devs best interest getting support from people here, even more so if they plan on making a patreon. Having a game rated 1 star here won't do the dev any good, good/bad reviews here have real power over how a project will turn out to some extent.

And also, what is up with these lowkey condescending lines at the end?

Well since u pretend to know more about this stuff tell me .. What would u call them? I just classified them as vanilla fans even though I'm only talking about the toxic ones ..

The only part I mentioned " most" is when I talked about the devs. Do u have a problem reading? Devs tend to avoid some of these unconventional kinks because of the backlash. That's a fact.

The part where I talked about 10 NEGATIVE comments. Again, its a freaking example. I'm not talking about a particular project or a particular dev.

Since u clearly didn't read my rant, let me say clear this up again- I'm talking about the toxic fans who rates projects without playing the game just based to the tag.

Yeah OP I'm with you, I can't stand those toxic vanilla fans!
Raspberry Ripple is the best ice cream and that's the hill I'm going to die on!

For reals though, as everyone else in this thread has said, there's always going to be morons in every area of entertainment complaining about things they don't like or aren't tailor made for them.

The two areas that this seems to be most common (or at least where those types of people are most vocal) are video games and pornography. And no prizes for telling me what sort of forum we're on lol.

My advice for you would be to just ignore them and continue to enjoy what you yourself enjoy. If you're worried about a dev losing interest/getting discouraged as a result of these reviews or comments, consider supporting them yourself and letting them know there is indeed an audience for their enterprise.

Have a good one amigo.

I'm talking specifically about the toxic vanilla fans and not the general vanilla fans. If there is some other word to classify them, pls do tell me.
I'm talking about the devs who are active in the forum. Again u are talking about something else here ma dude.
When I said 10 comments, its just an example. People tend to focus on the negatives more than positives tbh. So u don't need a lot of these bad comments to discourage anyone, let alone a new dev.

Where did I say I know more than you? I'm just stating a fact here: what is "vanilla" for me isn't for you, and yet you're assuming that these "toxic ones" are all vanilla fans. How do you know that, exactly? Clearly you're the one that knows more than me since you can tell what fetishes they like. Teach me, sempai.

Yeah, neither did I mention a particular project or dev, I only said "10 comments" as an example and the negative comments are implied, yet you're the one that clearly can't seem to read properly.

So what was this comment for if u understood what I'm saying ? "That project was doomed to begin with if that's all it took" Giving mixed signals here ma dude.

When someone says I hate the game because of these tags, what would u call them if not vanilla?.. Again I'm talking about the toxic fans and not the general ones who don't even bother playing the game before rating it. If that's not u, u shouldn't be bothered by my rant. Lol

FYI: Review Rules
6. Your review shouldn't be solely focused on your feelings about a specific genre.
These non-reviews you're referring to can be flagged, though i do feel bad for the people who have to go through flagged posts...

Most devs don't even try out new stuff because of these toxic fckers tanking their ratings.
Very doubtful that it's "most devs" and anyone with common sense would just ignore those non-reviews. Sure it sucks to receive a bad rating unfairly, but you're not very realistic if you think users are going to only write fair reviews. If it really is a non-review as OP is claiming, take a screenshot in case of a "dev flags negative reviews to make their game better" revenge post, and then flag it. I agree the comments that a dev giving up because of these non-reviews means that dev was likely doomed anyway.

I don't rate games but i'm usually on the side of the players you're criticizing.
I don't care if a whole game is about a minority fetish, i just don't click on it. But if the game is about something else and you add one character or one scene that many could find disgusting, then it's your fault for spoiling your game for angry and frustrated players.

Sometimes, the controversial fetish is in the game since the beginning, but it stills spoil a game that don't need it and could be much better without that.

Do you really think that devs only abandon games, because of comments on this site? Personally I think games get abandoned due to the lack of financial incentive.(y) After all a lot of devs want to receive money for their games, for example:
Dev 1 has a game that is totally trashed on F95, but receives $2,500 a month in pledges and dev 2 has a game that is loved by everyone on F95, but only receives $142 a month in pledges.
Who do you think will abandon their game first?
