Have to ask since I haven't been following the conversation to well if there is an usable translation now?
yes. game is 99.9999999% translated by community, interface and all texts. the missing 0.0000001% is one line spoken by Pioneer Commander and NG+ "Carry over ammo" explanation - those are fixed in attachment bellow. files should go into update\data\stg4 folder if you care for such missing 0.0000001% xD

If the tutorial / guide isn't very clear please let me know. I'm new here and dunno if it's allowed to redistribute whole patched game or not (generally it isn't) but I will try to make it easy for people to use !

Small edit :eek:n linux (Steam deck) you'll need to swap the d3d9Hooked.dll with the proton/wine one. I attach mine, but it's only for linux. Also font issue I'm investigating...

Thanks for translation! I'm trying on linux and it isn't all working I'm afraid. I have downloaded the patched version on page 15, and that's not quite working, I tried applying the d3d9Hooked.dll you posted, as well as the updates. When running in Lutris with English locale I get the first image, when I use Japanese locale I get the 3rd image (both display title screen in English). Any tips?

Okay so I don't quite know what could cause this. My linux test setup is to have wine/proton, use `LC_ALL="ja_JP.SJIS"` as env var. The d3d9.dll from the archive is ASI Loader ( ) and since it does hooking it requires to ship the system d3d9.dll as d3d9Hooked.dll. The one I shared was for an old wine version. I see on the second image the dialog box being smaller, which is a good sign (the mod loader do two things: it sizes down the dialog text to match english text width, and swap assets from the "update" folder. The 3rd image looks promising, try to copy data from the "update" folder into the parent folder and overwrite it (keep a backup just in case). It would manually apply what the mod loader emulates. I'm not familiar with lutris, so I cannot give many more advices. I mainly use steam proton with protontricks and wine with Q4Wine. Aquedi4 games are basically like windows GUI apps and don't use much of the modern DirectX, so it should work fine with wine...
Let me know if that helped, if you found a fix, or if that's not working at all !
